I've been here 2 separate times while visiting for a work trip. the food has been absolutely phenomenal both times. If you enjoy sushi this is the place to go. Rolls are huge compared to most other restaurants and ramen was excellent. Staff is so friendly and attentive when needed. Any time I come to the area I will be stopping in.

Overall a decent place. Apparently they used to serve free soup and salad but no longer can due to cost of everything so that is a bummer. The miso soup was good as usual, edamame needed more seasoning to it. It was odd because on the menu they have a "cooked" nigiri and sashimi section but I wanted the smoked salmon nigiri raw and they said they couldn't do that- never been to a sushi place and had that issue. Passion and house rolls were both food- complimented each other well. Alaska roll is pretty boring and bland. Service was quick and efficient.

The food tastes great. Every dish in unique and food is not just limited to sushi. There is ramen, beer, and sides like miso soup and salad. The service is quick and very friendly. The ambient sound is not too loud but not terribly silent either. The atmosphere is nice and traditional with an artisanal feel.

Sushi Moto really blew us away this visit! It was definitely strange getting our temperatures checked at the door and having to write down our name/phone number to dine in, but also a little refreshing to know they are taking appropriate precautions to protect customers from COVID-19. We tried an appetizer and six different rolls so we could take some leftovers home for lunch the next day and they were all great. One other thing I love about this spot aside from their food is that their menu has pictures to help you visualize the portions and presentation. When there are so many options to choose from that tend to sound similar on paper, the images really help me make up my mind. Here was our line up this visit with individual reviews for each item: Pink pocket: This appetizer was delicious, although it came out at the same time as our meal. I probably should have specified that I wanted it prior to the meal as an appetizer since we ordered it at the same time as our rolls, so that's on me! Each piece had a bit of a sweetness to it with a subtle smokiness. I'd order it again for sure and give it *FOUR* stars. Sunday morning: This one has all of my favorite things in it, so naturally I loved it! Deep fried smoked salmon, tamago, and cream cheese. Creamy texture, salty and sweet... *FIVE* stars imho! Note: This roll is on the regular sheet menu (not the one with pictures). Snow White: This roll had a wasabi heat flavor paired with a spicy jalapeño ring atop a delicious tempura shrimp roll, and the flavor was actually really good. You would think that it's all that heat it would be unbearable, but it wasn't at all. *FOUR stars*! Pink blossom: Another one of my favorites! The fresh salmon with citrusy lemon pair so well together, and it makes for a great bite in between two otherwise "spicy" rolls like we had during our visit. *FIVE* stars! Kamikazi: This one was the spiciest of them all tonight and we really liked it. The sriracha spice is different from the wasabi heat, and I think this one may have been just a little spicier than the Snow White roll. It was a thicker roll and had a ton of tempura bits on top which seemed to have balanced out the heat, *FIVE* stars for this one! Florida: this one had mild to medium spice with a smoky finish. It was one of the thicker rolls we ordered and it was also one of our favorites. *FIVE* stars! Mountain: This one was loaded with tempura bits on top which gave it a nice crunch. The wasabi honey really gave it a sweet heat flavor. This one didn't stay together all that well, likely because it was piled high with toppings, but it was still delicious enough to earn *FOUR* stars!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but pretty good sushi. They do it deep-fried too. A good snack or a good lunch spot.

It's probably the best sushi around. Is it the best you will ever have? No. Does it hit the spot? Yes. Try the Hawaiian roll.

Our waitress seemed really unsure of herself. We wondered if she may have been new, which is fine, but she just seemed like she wasn't confident or fully present. We had two appetizers; the Rangoon purses, I think they were called; which were nothing extraordinary. We also had the Calamari. It was HUGE. I've never seen such big pieces, they looked like onion rings. The presentation was so bland. No color, no sauces. I know there were sauce options on the table, but I was surprised given that the serving dishes had a spot for sauce, that they couldn't have whipped up something unique for the apps. My friends got the Hibachi and were underwhelmed; they didn't love the miso soup or salads, either. I had ordered the Tiger sushi roll and some Nigiri, which the menu just refers to as "sushi", which was weird. I would say the sushi was a step above Meijer sushi, honestly. Pretty chewy, very basic presentation. Nigiri was okay. No real desire to go back when there are better options.

The food is absolutely delicious and watching it get cooked in front of you seems to make it taste even better! Lots of items to choose from, vegetarian options as well. Lastly, I think it goes without saying but the ambiance is vibrant and exciting and full of life! We were seated immediately and place was already packed as I saw some new grads already celebrating! For appetizers we got Crunchy Firecracker Shrimp, crab rangoon dip, and for lunch I got the Veggie Udon Soup. The firecracker shrimp was crisp and had a little spice to it. It came out quickly and was still hot which was good! The Veggie Udon soup was hot which was great cause I was a little cold. The broth was seasoned nicely and did not have too much salt. The veggies were cooked just right. I tried the sweet potato roll and it was just like your normal roll - nothing stood out but it was good! The rest of the family enjoyed their food but they did not enjoy the Bulgogi, my one son said, "I should have known better to get a Korean dish at a Japanese Restaurant. The meat was over cooked and the taste was so-so. The place was lively with all the post or pre graduation lunches! I'm absolutely flabbergasted that I have to spend the rest of memorial weekend with food poisoning, especially after spending $60+ tip for a lunch with myself and my two toddlers. While it seems that cleanliness is not a top priority, I should have walked out when the high chair they brought my two year old was filthy. How hard is it to clean a high chair? If the front of the house is dirty, it makes one wonder what the back of the house looks like. And now I'm especially curious after being sick all night. The odd thing is, they were not busy and they were not short staffed. The culprit was either the papa crema roll or the crab Rangoon dip. My bet it was the dip because it just tasted off. You could definitely tell that the Rangoon chips were not made fresh that day. Not only did they taste funny but they were also stale. However, it could have been a handful of things. Take a look at the most recent health inspections and there are some huge red flags; ones that come at no surprise given the way I have felt for the last 18 hours. Do yourself a favor and don't eat at Maru. They don't even have a three compartment sink. How in the heck are they cleaning ANYTHING properly?
