Amazing food, super fast! Lots of sushi and sashimi options as well as delicious noodle and ramen dishes!

So this place sushi was so good, but I'm not sure what happen. A few hours after eating here, I got violently sick. So I'm not sure if the fish was bad or the Mayo was bad but it wasn't pleasant. And I spent quite a bit on this food too. read more

This is the only sushi place I truly love in Lansing! Their rolls are delicious, and very well priced! I meant to take a photo last time I was there, but I was so eager to eat and it looked so good I forgot. My boyfriend got the bibimpop(?) some Korean stone bowl of food and it was phenomenal. He said that the spicy sauce they serve with it was very authentic and most Asian places don't have it. I got the yum yum roll and the house roll. The ginger dressing salad and miso soup were excellent as well. The service was great--my water glass never got more than halfway empty. Dinner for both of us with two salads, two soups, two sushi rolls, and the bowl thing was only $37! I love this place. read more

Good food, but truly dreadful service. Waited 10 minutes at the table before anyone even said hello. Waited 10 minutes for tea, which was never refilled despite repeated requests. Waited an hour between when appetizers were cleared and when dinner came, and it was just one of the two dinners. After 10 minutes of my wife watching her food get cold while I waited for mine, I noticed that the chefs were starting and finishing several takeout orders when they should have been hurrying to finish mine. I inquired about it and got an extremely rude response from the server. First time in 20 years I've tipped less than 20 percent. It's a flawed system. They do way too much takeout business for their capacity, so the seated diners wait and wait and wait as the last priority. We will not be back. read more

3 Trips, no charm needed. I wanted a good sushi spot near home and I got it! My first two trips were during lunch. I enjoyed their lunch special $8.99 for 2 rolls (cali and spicy tuna), miso soup, salad with great ginger dressing and a slice of seasonal fruit. The price, the options and the dessert are all a girl needs. The third time was for dinner with a friend so I explored the menu more. I found they had udon, and so much more! They have a very extended menu to be such a low key place on the west side of Lansing. My friend ordered the edamame. I was hesitant because most times it's too salty or too tough. The beans were warm and just tender enough. Get this the salt was blended not a tastebud shock. She also ordered a roll and udon. The udon was nice, the broth was miso and it had all the normal trappings of good noodles and egg and meat, she was pleased. Her roll was a little more fishy than most would like but prepared and presented well. Her japanese beer was a good selection offered by the waitress as well. My Mango Salmon roll! oh My Gosh! It was beautiful to my eyes and tongue. This was the kind of roll that did not need wasabi or soy sauce but it complemented the roll so well. I can't wait to have it again. The salmon and mango were angle sliced and outside the rice. I never checked to see what was inside the rice as my tongue wanted all the action. My drink was one of their many cold sakes. It was crisp, mildly sweet and refreshing. I'll be back. Regularly My only critique is the rolls don't stay put so well when you pick them up. I may need a good chop stick lesson but I really think those rolls could be sealed better. I'm always seated immediately and the service is great. Oh and the ambiance is set with Japanese language versions of pop songs. Nice touch. read more

I've been to Sushi Moto tons of times. It's a very good restaurant. It's not huge, it's more intimate. I've gone a few times in the summer, right at the beginning of lunch service. I don't know of the air conditioner was broke but it was too hot to eat in there. They have a wide selection of sushi rolls. The bento boxes portions are huge. You definitely won't leave hungry. The service is precise and quick! read more

This is my favorite sushi restaurant. I've ate at a bunch of them but i always find sushi moto to be the best.

Affordable sushi, huge rolls, quick service and I always enjoy coming here to eat or order takeout.

If you've never tried sushi before this is an excellent place to start with. I had the gyoza dumplings which is pork dumplings and I tried the yum yum roll which was salmon, tuna and crab. But the one I tried didn't have crab in it. It was very good and did not taste very fishy. Service was very fast and food was not expensive. I would love to come here again. read more

Update-- went again, and this time around the rolls just weren't as good as before. Still clean, still good service. Got the Florida roll, wasn't near as tasty as it was at my last visit. Also tried the Red Fire roll, which comes to the table in foil on a skillet that is on fire, kinda fun. That one wasn't bad. The one I did enjoy was the D-19 roll--wasn't sure I would like it because it's deep fried and far from my usual roll, reminiscent of a jalapeño popper, with cream cheese and fresh jalapeño topped with a medley of tasty sweetish sauces. Different and really good. The teriyaki salmon dinner my man ordered was quality. He says 5/5 on that dish and I agree. I'll still go here again, next visit I'll probably order something other than rolls. They offer a lot of other things so it won't be hard to find something different. read more

Service was excellent and the quality of the food was beyond our expectations. The prices are very reasonable. It was a great dinning experience here. So I've been here both before covid and have ordered out after covid has started. First thing, if you want a great deal, go for the boat. It's HUGE and when it's to go they still pack those trays full! They have some of the best specialty rolls and have really been great with always being quick and courteous at in service dining. As a frequent order during covid I have not sat down but the 3 times I've been in there, every staff member has had on masks and if there are too many people near the counter they ask you to wait a bit aways and they will let you know when you can approach to pay. Called to place a take-out order and requested chicken in place of fish/seafood due to an allergy and they cut me off and rudely said they won't do that. I've ate in multiple times and they have always done it before and I explained this to the man on the phone. He replied that they wouldn't do that now and I said forget it and hung up. My boyfriend and I were recommended this restaurant by a friend. Since then we have not been disappointed. The restaurant itself is small, but that makes it feel more like a family run business. The menu is varied and provide a range of options for the adventurous sushi eater. The miso soup and salad served before the meal are a hit or miss. Our first visit they were a pleasant surprise and were wonderful additions. The second was less inspiring but still enjoyable. I'm a picky sushi eater. I like fish heavy sushi rolls, without avocado, or nigiri with salmon or tuna. So I was absolutely delighted to find the Triple Threat on their menu: sushi with just tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. It was perfect for me. And their prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you recieve. 10/10 I would recommend with the highest enthusiasm. We will be returning again soon. read more

This is a great sushi place! It used to be very busy every time we went, and it has not been as of late. Not sure why that is.... Anywho the sushi is great! Yes a little pricy, but the portions are more than worth it. I'm never disappointed in the rolls or bento boxes. That said, the miso soup and salad was MEH this last time we went. Iceburg lettuce wasn't very fresh, Also, I felt that the edamame was MEH as well. So I guess yes I was a little disappointed this last time with it overall, hence the 3 stars. Come to think of it we were one of only a few in there and the service was very slow....maybe that's why business is down lately? I do hope they step their game back up tho! I've been here three times, and all three times, I've tasted amazing sushi. The flavoring is consistent, the service is always great, and the ambience is romantic and cute, making the restaurant a good choice for dates and a night out with friends or family. I'd recommend this above many of the sushi places I've been to in Chicago, and that's for sure something to be proud of. Anyway, hesitate no more! I used to really like this place. It had a great, intimate atmosphere and when you went there it felt special. Now, it is starting to feel a little run down. The "paper" in the paper walls has tears in it going on several years, I have given up on them ever fixing them. Also, the music they now play, even in the evenings, is not relaxing in any way. The bibimbap is still very good, and the sushi is above average. From a food standpoint it is 4 stars. Staff is nice. But the atmosphere is no longer special and they need to start doing some minor repairs to keep it as a place for date night, etc. Loud Asian gameshows blaring on the TVs does not make for a good dinner eating experience, especially when competing with hip-hop music. read more
