    Passion Fruit Slush

Such a cute place! Kind of weird because it's Japanese, Korean, and Thai all in one place. I got the slush passion fruit with lychee jelly, it was good but a little too sweet. I got the pork katsu bento box with seaweed salad and fried gyoza. It came with rice and a miso soup. I really enjoyed my lunch!

Japanese, Korean and Thai in one restaurant. Huh what! I was exploring the area near Michigan State University and found this very cool looking hole in the wall. I ordered Bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) and it was jam packed with flavor. I was in heaven for a second. The menu had the best of all three countries. This is a must visit. Note: Note good for large crowds due to limited seating but very trendy inside.

This little spot is a bit unassuming, but don't sleep on YumYum Bento! Their menu is large, with lots of great Asian dishes: Korean, Japanese, and Thai food are all represented. They also have bubble tea and other specialty drinks. There's a small parking lot behind the building, or you can park on the residential streets in the area. We were greeted right away and the only customers in the restaurant for a time. I noticed a few people picking up takeout orders. The space is pretty small, but had nice light and was cozy. I'd recommend takeout during peak dining hours. To start, Nate and I ordered the shrimp tempura and the takoyaki. For our late lunch, we got the black garlic tonkotsu ramen and the katsu pork curry. The appetizers came out quickly, and the shrimp tempura was some of the best I've had. Super crispy outside, with perfectly cooked, juicy shrimp. The portion was generous for the two of us to share, with six pieces total. The takoyaki were really tasty as well. I hoped for a bit more octopus inside, but I liked the addition of the sauces and bonito flakes. I was shocked when our entrees arrived - the portions were huge! My ramen bowl was massive, and full of smooth, rich broth and thick slices of chashu (pork belly). The katsu was a large cutlet with a big scoop of rice and plenty of savory gravy. I really enjoyed both dishes, but my favorite was the ramen. We definitely could have shared either of these meals, but I'm glad we got to try a few things. I think the prices were quite reasonable, especially for the amount and quality of food we received.

First visit and Yum Yum Bento is now on our "must do" list for whenever we're in the area. Cozy space with welcoming staff. Our host was patient while we made up our minds and ordered. She was attentive to our table as well as other guests. Now, the food... just so good! Everything we chose was prepared with care and so tasty! We would be happy ordering the same again, but also confident in trying new menu items. Thank you for a wonderful first meal! For reference: people were dining in and picking up carry out throughout our meal. It's a smaller restaurant, but had seating for a family of 4. We found parking in the small lot behind the restaurant.

Ordered Bulgogi bibimbap and the Japanese curry, Both were very good. The curry was a little thick but the flavor was good. Extensive menu

Me and my friends loved this place! The spicy rice cakes might be one of the best things I've ever had. My bento box was so good, I loved the chicken katsu 10/10 for everything we ate. ALSO super vegan friendly! Excited to come back soon

The food is delicious and fresh . Ordered the Pad Sew ew and volcano ramen. It was yummy and fresh. Excellent service and the place is very clean. Highly recommended and we will definitely come back. This is a hidden gem not too far from Michigan State University.

Super good. First time coming here. Staff and food were both great. Highly recommend the bibimbob.

I came up this way for work. It's about a hour and thirty min drive and I see this little store across from where I'm working and thank god I came to check it out. The staff is super friendly and always around when you need anything. I came in when it wasn't to busy tho. But the food. Now let me tell you I will happily make the long drive all the way up here again just for the food I got the tonkotsu ramen and it has to be the best ramen in Michigan it was super rich the flavors made me feel like I was being held by a big breasted women. The pork was so soft but firm. The broth was like drinking from a pond in heaven. The place looks uninviting from the outside but when you come in it's very cozy they have soft music playing in the background and very good lighting. I would highly recommend coming here. I will be back again.

    Bulgogi bibimbap

This is a tiny place that is kind of hard to find. The food is perfect! I had bulgogi bibimbap and it was fresh and well seasoned. The vegetable tempura was the best I have had outside of Japan. I will definitely be returning. Great place to eat!

Sapporo is not about to break that trend! Right off the bat, the vibe is chill and the staff is welcoming. I go for the Takoyaki and Hakata modern. The Takoyaki is absolutely delicious. Wonderful balance of texture and salt vs sweet. Easily top 3 I've had. On to the ramen....which I was ready to be super hyper critical on. Hakata modern features Tonkotsu pork broth, chashu, ajitsuke tamago, menma, beansprouts, garlic oil, umami dama, and scallions. Final verdict? The broth is rich and flavorful, and there is plenty of it! The ramen egg is a tab bit overdone and the chasu can be a little more tender but who am I kidding? It's pretty damn good! The best part of all? Sapporo sits at a very reasonable price point while not compromising on high quality. All in all, very much worth a trip while in the area. Sapporo slides right into my go to lineup :-)

The team members we encountered were welcoming and friendly. We were seated right away as during the summer with the college students scarce, getting seated right away isn't abnormal. The restaurant was quiet so we selected a seat next to the window; the foot and vehicle traffic on Grand River was a nice backdrop. We started with shrimp shumai and the tempura appetizer, then decided on the sushi combo b and avocado don for our mains. The shrimp shumai were dainty but tasty! However, the tempura veggies weren't really flavorful and I'm not sure what the sauce served with them was intended to offer but minimal flavor was found there as well. The avocado don was like a deconstructed sushi roll and was absolutely delightful, although the dish would have benefited from the avocado being more ripe; it was flavorful and plentiful! The sushi combo was also delicious and fresh, served with plenty of wasabi and ginger. Speaking of ginger the ginger dressing on the side salad was so crisp, fresh and tangy it was definitely one of the highlights. I think the avocado don may end up being a lunchtime staple for me!

One was their regular menu with a variety of different options and the second menu was all sushi and sashimi. There were dozens of rolls and nigiri of all types. Quite an impressive list. I was there for the Korean food so I did not order any sushi. The service was excellent. The few questions we had were answered and the menu layout was explained as it was extensive. There were apps, rice dishes, soups, house specials, BBQ options and hot pot options to name a few. I decided to go with the kim bop app and soondubu chigae main dish. Soondubu chigae is a spicy soup with silken tofu and seafood served piping hot with rice on the side. The meal also included a selection of 4 banchan; potato salad, Kimchee, bean sprouts and fish cake. All of the banchan were delicious. The banchan also comes with unlimited refills. The kim bop was so good. Not sure what all the ingredients were but it was very tasty and well made. The rice was also very good. It was not an afterthought like a lot of Asian restaurants. The rice was cooked properly and of high quality. The soondubu chigae was also very tasty. Not as spicy as I like but had lots of flavor. My one criticism is the lack of seafood. There was some but not really in balance with the amount of silken tofu and egg in the dish. Overall I would recommend Korea House and although I haven't yet tried the BBQ or the hot pot, I sure they would be excellent choices. If you're craving some authentic Korean flavors, give this spot a try.
