The sushis tastes great and the service is fast. They also have a lot of side plates that are really good too! It is on the expensive side if you go at night, but get the sashimis to make up for it! They are also using iPads to take orders, so you don't need to wait for the waiters to come.

Great service and great food! I've never been disappointed with the food, also the service was quite fast. They have takeout combos for lunch time and it was tasty. Now if you ask me what I don't like about the restaurant well there is one thing that bothers me, it's those tablets that you order on,most times when they give it to you it's dirty with food and who knows what else and I feel grossed out touching it.

Average Ayce restaurant. Let's you order off an iPad but it uses a web browser instead of a fully-integrated ordering app (which has its limitations and poor quality photos). We had issues with items we ordered not showing up or incorrect quantities arriving. Which is odd since it's all there on the computer screen. But food was pretty good and the servers were nice.

Nice place and great food, love the volcano sushi roll. Floor was slippery though when we walked in.

This is a very nice place for date and gathering!I enjoyed the cozy ambiance and the service is great, the waitress is adorable and the food is super tasty! That is best buffet sushi experience so far!Surprised by the Samsung tablet for odering the food~There are various of appetizers and teppanyaki,Highly recommend the ok chicken that is crispy and flavourous~Also the shrimp in spicy basil sauce is juicy and yummy! This place must be a sushi heaven for the sushi lover! As a big fan of sushi,I would like to say the iced roll and the sunshine is heavenly and delicate!Fresh sashimi and great selection are attracting me the most!I ate 6 balls of the green tea ice cream that is strong flavor of matcha~ I have been here many times and never be disappointed by the food or the service~It's very worth to try!

Some options in the AYCE lunch menu

I found myself in Lasalle one weekday afternoon and I felt like a buffet. As I was driving on Newman, I came across a Chinese buffet in a strip mall so I decided to turn onto Dollard to go into the strip mall's parking lot and then I saw that there was also a Sushi Plus in this strip mall. Since I really like sushi but I was in the mood for a buffet, I wasn't sure if this Sushi Plus was an AYCE sushi place so walked over to the door and looked at the menu outside the door. The menu notice on the door indicated that there was an "a la carte" menu as well as an AYCE menu so I decided to eat here as opposed to going to the Chinese buffet place next door. I was there at about 1:30pm on Thursday and the place was not crowded so I was seated immediately. After being seated, the waiter asked me if I was there for AYCE menu or the ALC menu. I mentioned that I was there for the AYCE. He then asked me if it was the first time that I was there and I mentioned that it was. He quickly explained to me how to use the tablet to order the items that I wanted. He also informed me that there were some items with a red circle and an "i" in it which were not part of the AYCE lunch menu but if I wanted these items, it wouldn't be an issue to order them but there would be extra charges which would show up when I submitted/sent the order to the kitchen. Most of these items were the more exotic seafood items like calamari and some types of fishes. The standard salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi were part of the AYCE lunch menu. What I did find unusual was that the sushi with rice on the bottom and cut/open shrimp on the top had the "i" on it since that is available in most AYCE places as part of lunch. This place has free WiFi but you must ask them for the password. The hot & sour soup at this place was one of the best hot & sour soups that I've ever had. It was spicy and not too sour. I had some dumplings which were good. The salmon sashimi was very good. I didn't have any of the maki rolls. I also had some tempura eggplant, tempura shrimp, and tempura imitation crab. These were also very good. I also had some spicy seafood udon soup which I found to be very good as well. Unlike in some other AYCE sushi restaurants, I didn't experience any issues with ordering items from their tablet (like tablet freezing up or giving error messages) and I didn't have to remind the waiter of any missing items that I ordered. I found that the service was very fast but this might be due to the restaurant not being full at the time that I was there. There were only 5 tables used when I was there with a table outside on the patio being used as well. What I did find a bit weird is that you had to "order" refills of your water on the tablet. It didn't really bother me but this is something that I noticed as well as needing to "order" extra napkins on the tablet as well. For dessert, they had 3 types of ice cream. The options on the tablet were single scoops or double scoop. Since I love ice cream, I picked the double-scoop option for each of the 3 flavours. The waiter came back to my table and asked me if I realized that I picked 6 scoops of ice cream in total and I confirmed with him that I did want 6 scoops of ice cream (2 scoops of each of the 3 flavours) and not 3 scoops of ice cream (1 scoop of each flavour). Along with the ice cream, I also had 1 fried banana. The fried banana was very good. In terms of the portion size, I would say that it was maybe a third of a banana which was cut in half. The fried banana had some chocolate syrup on it and tasted great mixing it with the ice cream (sort of a banana split). Cost was $16.99 + tax + tip = $19.53 + tip.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

I really appreciate the ease of booking and how I didn't have to think about what people were going to order. One hiccup was that I had indicated ahead of time that one of the guests had a seafood allergy, which I understand can be difficult for Japanese restaurant. I had expected them to tailor the $70 menu to her, however, they let us know that it was gonna be difficult and instead asked her to pick from the à la carte menu. She had no problem with this, but I felt bad and didn't want her to think that I had an indicated ahead of time of her dietary restriction. Overall, the meal was good. It was a little bit slow to start coming out. I think our total dining time was over two hours which was fine because we were celebrating something but for the first 30 minutes I feel like no food came out. A little bit on the salty side, but I enjoyed every dish. For the price point I think it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group dinner again. The high top tables weren't the most comfortable for such a large group as we were essentially split in two, but for a group of 6-8 it would be perfect!

I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. I stopped by around 8:45 PM, 15 minutes before they closed, but the staff were so kind and lovely, let me dine in, gave me a free drink on the house, and even told me to take my time and not worry about closing. I ordered the spicy garlic pork ramen with thick noodles, and I was blown away with how flavorful the broth and QQ (chewy) the noodles were. I didn't like the pork that much and found it a bit tough and gamey, but they do have two other types of meat (chicken, beef) as well as a vegetarian option available, as well as seasonal menu specials. If I was at McGill, I'd probably visit this spot a bit too often LOL, and I highly recommend checking them out for their comforting ramen bowls and incredibly kind service!

You also need to decide if you want thick or thin noodles, went with thin. - Original Karaage Simple interior design and layout, either you sit at the tables or the bar. The staff member was very friendly, service was quick and the food came out fast. The Karaage was perfectly fried, seasoned and delicious. However, no dipping sauce is provided, all other joints that I've been to will give you a mayo dipping sauce, not here. The Ramen - noodles were perfectly cooked, however honestly package ramen had a better flavor than their Original pork ramen unfortunately. I had expected this rich and creaminess of the pork broth, that was sticky-lipped intensifying, but it was not. This was disappointing and thus can only give 2 stars. I can't say for other noodle type, but original pork ramen needs a lot of work.
