    Sashimi and sushi
    Karen L.

I've been to both Sushi Plus locations. Both were disappointing. However, I've been to this location twice, and both experiences were consistent. The staff are nice and the service was pretty good -- someone was always refilling our waters and ordering food was easy with the tablets. But the food is mediocre, verging on bad. The place smells a little like bleach, and somehow, the food's taste also is strange and "off". The chairs/benches/tables always seem a little dirtier than they should be. The sashimi is odd -- one batch, it's fine. Another, there's a weird taste to it. The teriyaki chicken or Korean chicken I'd advise against: they seem to literally boil strips of chicken breast and then pour on a bit of teriyaki/Korean sauce on top before serving it. Which makes it flavorless and bland. One plus: they do offer salmon and white tuna (oilfish) sashimi for lunch all-you-can-eat. Foods that taste alright: fried sesame balls, hot and sour soup, and deep-fried buns.

Very nice meeting place, perfect birthday party, friendly staff, fresh food, a fun evening!

I've been coming to Sushi Plus for just over 6 months now, but I wanted to wait before writing my review. Their all-you-can-eat lunch menu is decently priced, and their service is great but their food quality is a little inconsistent. I've only come here during lunch hours, so my review will only reflect my experience during those times. The restaurant is quite spacious, with a warm atmosphere and dim lighting. Their menu is mostly westernized sushi, with some traditional chinese dim-sum mixed in. You order on tablets, and the service is usually very fast. They have a good variety of sushi and other dishes, but the food quality is very inconsistent. Sometimes their soups are delicious and scalding hot, sometimes they are lukewarm and flavorless. Their sashimi is not very fresh, and cut into different thicknesses every time I come here. Their sushi, however, is quite good! I really like their Sushi Plus roll--definitely give that one a try. For an all you can eat lunch menu priced around $20, you're getting what you pay for. Coming from Toronto, I found that the service is good, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. P.S Try their hot and sour spicy soup!

A lot of delicious sushi! I love the ones with cream cheese, but I think they're only available during the evening (not lunch)

I've been coming here for a little over a year now. I'm sad to say that I have to bring my rating down. The owner is incredibly nice! He's very smiley and attentive. However, the waiters are a little distracted and it's hard to grab their attention. They spend more time talking amongst themselves. The service has also slowed down. It took longer than usual to get our orders even though the restaurant was rather empty. The quality of the food has also gone down sadly. The sashimi isn't has fresh and the tofu that I loved stopped being crunchy and juicy and it's just rather soggy now. They still use the iPad to order. However, the interface changed. Now it doesn't look like an app, but more like a webpage that isn't made for a mobile/iPad The prices are still the same. Total of 20$ for lunch and 30$ for supper (after tax and tip). Lunch might be more worth it in my opinion. I hope this place turns around. I really did love it before!

Went on a friday lunch with some colleagues, the place is well decorated and the and the atmosphere is pretty warm with dim lighting. There was no music. The service was appalling, the server was very late didn't know anything about the menu. He also had trouble understanding what i was telling him in french or english. I ordered spicy basil beef that came with a miso soup. The flavour wasn't bad but anemic in size. He also served the soup after the dish. :-/ They do not take interac payments which was disappointing I wouldn't try this place again

Slow and bad. Don't come here. You'll feel bad afterwards. The only good part was the hard candy at the end.

The presentation SAS a little different from other ones we've done - they did it as several courses - sashimi, nigiri, and rolls, followed by dessert. The fish was fresh and well presented - we enjoyed every bite. Or server was friendly and knowledgeable - at one point, we asked him about sushi chefs, and why e seldom see female ones... He checked in with the chef and came back with a good answer... He definitely added to our night. We highly recommend!

We showed up on time for our reservation. The restaurant is dark, and sleek looking, so it could be a place for dinner or for drinks at the bar. We browsed the menu, and decided to go light and ended up trying the the following: - Edamame (with Furakake): Good. Soy beans can only be so different between restaurants. I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. Did all the tight things, and timely, but not particularly friendly. Overall, it was an OK visit. Food overall was generally good quality, but very expensive for the quality and quantity you get. But I also recognize that sometimes you pay for ambiance, and you certainly do here.

Located on the 45th floor, you can get beautiful panoramic views of the city, including of the St. Lawrence river. Highly recommend stopping by to watch the sunset transition into nighttime. Now onto their menu- I was expecting a bit more food options, but they really only have light bites/appetizers, so I'd eat elsewhere beforehand. I ordered the Wagyu brioche, which was incredible, but I wasn't as impressed with the crispy hosomaki, which was overly salty and didn't have that much dimension of flavor. The drinks were incredible and innovative though, incorporating authentic Japanese flavors and three eras of Japan's history. The bartenders and staff were very friendly and accommodating, managing to snag me a much coveted bar spot without a prior reservation.

Definitely looking forward to coming back next time we're in town.

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

We were a little disappointed that they ran out of salmon so we couldn't order any salmon sashimi dishes. We got skewers which were absolutely delicious! We also ordered takoyaki and okonomiyaki but there was nothing special about those. Wouldn't really recommend the okonomiyaki either. Would definitely recommend trying the Shrimp Burger and the Salmon Calcium (salmon pate).
