Pork belly ramen it was absolutely amazing
    Elizabeth S.

The food was delicious I truly enjoyed the pork belly ramen. It had a fast food sushi fusion feel but was definitely worth the visit. I will probably a go back in the near future.

The sushi was good, but the prices were extremely high. They barely put any spicy mayo or eel sauce on the shrimp tempura and dragon rolls. There's plenty of indoor seating, and it wasn't very busy during lunch, which was nice. Parking is in the back/side.

My first time trying Sushi with Mexican vibe, It is actually so good and completely different story, i was so impressed @sushirollusa is a famous chain in México and they brought their delicious sushi to you in San Diego It is a must try place

I visited sushi roll yesterday with my mom and we had such a bad experience. The food was not great and the service was even worse. We saw they had a 2x1 special after 5pm Monday-Wednesday and when we arrived we got seated quickly. A waiter came to our table to take our drink orders and they were brought fairly quickly. We placed an order for edamame's which were good. We then waited at least 20 minutes for our sushi rolls order to be placed. The soda is $4 each for a can and once you finish it they charge you another $4 for another can, understandable but pricey for a canned soda. After placing our order we waited another 20 minutes for our food to come out. The waiter was just so rude, we probably interacted with him 3 times during our time here. Once during the beginning, secondly during the placement of the order and lastly for him to bring us our check. Not once did he come and check on our drinks, our food, napkins for which we had to ask someone else for, any extra sauces, nothing!! The food was mediocre at best. I love sushi and am never picky when trying new things but some of their options were not the best especially for the price. Luckily, there was a World Cup soccer match on their TVs which we were able to enjoy while we waited so long to place an order, for our food, for napkins, for another drink, for the check. The ambiance was okay, not too loud. I'm only happy I got to try this place because I know never to go back. Customer service goes a long way and food quality for their prices does as well.

We drove down from Escondido and were greeted by our amazing server, Christian, who immediately made us feel welcome. He recommended the Eek a Dragon Roll and the Sunset Roll--hands down the best sushi I've ever had, and I'm a big sushi fan! The flavors were fresh, perfectly balanced, and truly unforgettable. The service was top-notch and the drinks were just as impressive. Christian also recommended the house sangria and the Sake-Rita, and wow--10/10! The Sake-Rita was made with real guava syrup crafted in-house, and you could absolutely taste the freshness in every sip. I'm usually a slow drinker, but I finished mine before my boyfriend--it was that good. Definitely coming back again. Highly recommend!

Salmon tuna bowl. They added lemon, which now makes me think masked the not fresh tuna/salmon, which was slimy.

The mixed tempura was great! Server was great!! That's about it. The miso soup was salty, but i liked the big chunks of seaweed. The California roll's rice was cold and not cooked where i crunched on uncooked rice. I had the salmon tuna bowl, which was not fresh..kinda slimy. The kicker...I came home and got sick to my stomach, which i knew was related to the food, cuz i felt the ache coming when i went to the car (i didn't eat anything else that day). Not going back!! Also more expensive than other sushi places. I could have gone to all you can eat sushi at Little Sakana for the price of two rolls, mixed tempura and two miso soups.

I've visited Sushi Roll multiple times now and each time I was pleased. The service and ambiance is exceptional. Additionally, both times the sushi exceeded my expectations. The grilled chicken ramen hit the spot as well. I definitely want to visit again. Shout out to Ruben, who was our waiter. The man knows what sushi roll to recommend depending on your preference

Fresh sushi. Super attentive staff. Super cute decor. This place hit all the marks. The sushi tasted fresh and was presented beautifully. They had some unique rolls on the menu like the Bora Bora which had a coconut tempura crust. It was so delicious and we were happy to have felt adventurous and picked rolls outside of our typical selections. Our waiter was wonderful. He was very attentive and took notice that we really liked spiciness so he brought out this little bowl of sliced chilies, which he called Chiles toreados. I believe they were sliced Serrano peppers marinated in some type of Ponzu sauce. They were delicious and flavorful and added that kick that we always look for. The inside of the restaurant has a chic feel and almost makes you forget you're in south west Chula Vista.

Sushi roll is so underrated! They have Asian-Mexcan fusion food that's so creative and delicious. Every roll we had was delicious, fresh, and creative. We also tried the mango dish with Hamachi and it was delicious, but the most spectacular fish was the tempura Shishito Peppers!! They stole the show. The cocktails were all great too, such a creative way to integrate Asian flavors into classic cocktails! The service was also great, they were very attentive to our group, and the ambiance is casual with a little modern flair. Parking is limited but it is free!

First time visiting this place. It did not disappoint service was good edemame, agua de Mango, bunny roll and poki was very delicious. At your table you will find a sauce made by the chef which gives your dish a delicious addition. Can't wait to go back to try their ramen and another roll.

Best sashimi in the South Bay! The portions are generous and very fresh. I ordered the sashimi combo and it was amazing! I also got the Bunny Roll which was delish. Also, major props to the person that designed this place. It has a lot of Japanese style wood fixtures that's simple and chic. I ordered take out following my first visit and even the take out box and chop sticks are stylish. Great job creating a good sushi spot with unique sushi rolls in South Bay! This is a great spot to dine.

    Empty cup of water.

Let me start off by saying I love sushi. We made sure to communicate that it's our first time here. Food was good but service sucks. Well our server because I had to call another server for some assistance. I told our server to bring our check after I asked him to check on our Togo roll. Then i mention to him that he never brung us any more water he said we had to ask him for water refill. He did not do anything to gain a tip. Nothing. Hate to leave a bad review for an employee. The couple next to us was served water multiple times with out asking js

We were immediately seated, but as soon as my husband and I saw the menu, we wanted to get up and leave. Their menu was very limited, very pricey for the the place & location. But since my daughter was excited to try it, we decided to stay. No bento boxes here, and everything you request is an additional charge, even a tiny amount of teriyaki sauce! My daughter got the Naruto bowl, and my husband, the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, each one costing $17 EACH. I went with the soy sauce ramen which was $16, and to add an egg additional $1.50. The bowls were only filled with rice, the ramen was filled with scallions, and not much else. The Cali Roll were also mostly rice, no avocado, they were so cheap and did not even add wasabi & ginger! Plus the place was not very clean. In front of where we were seated were dirty bins collecting dirty dishes, and a trash can where servers just dumped everything from trash, to soups, to drinks! It was so nasty, why not place the trash cans inside, where it is hidden, not where customers were dining?!? We won't be coming back. Pls save your money for another Japanese restaurant... the price, portion or taste weren't worth it for us.

The chirashi bowl ($18.50) was the smallest portion I've received compared to other sushi restaurants, and it didn't feel like a good value. The sashimi was sliced extremely thin, and unfortunately it didn't taste as fresh as I expected. The teriyaki chicken bento had a large portion of rice, the chicken not so much and lacked the flavor I would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Overall, I was hoping for higher-quality food and more generous portions. My previous visit here was last year with their AYCE menu which they no longer have. I am giving them 3 stars because our area need sushi places and I'm going to give this place a benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad day.

This little hole in the wall (and I say it with all the sincerity of Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin) with its cozy booths was perfect. We started with the Monkey Balls, tasty appetizer if you like mounds of cream cheese & spicy tuna shoved into a mushroom fried deeper than Anakin on Mustafar! My GF suggested the salmon nigiri. Note to my peeps: NOT a fan of salmon, like ever in my life! She says "Try it raw, much different." I guess I like salmon now, but only raw, like a lion...who eats sushi. Am I Alex from Madagascar?! Stunned me like the low setting on a Federation phaser! She's the Trinity to my Neo. I ordered the Amazing Dragon roll, which was as Amazing as Peter Parker himself! To which you immediately yell, "I AM!" and proceed to devour that roll! Sadly, no glow sans the one radiating from my lovely dinner companion. We ended the night sharing more than just sushi & smiles, but that's a tale for another site...maybe Tumblr. TL:DR - Can't miss menu. Service like family. Not only was our food significantly delayed for a pick up, but when it finally arrived, all three of the premium rolls we ordered were incorrect. Considering the higher price point of these specialty rolls, and past experience, I expected more of a "quality control" feature. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the manager, Julie, clearly acknowledged there was a problem with our order. However, the only response we received was a brief, "I'm sorry." While an apology is appreciated, it did little to address the inconvenience of waiting an extra 40 minutes for the food that wasn't even what we ordered. There was no meaningful effort to make things right, no explanation for the mistakes, other than "we are working on that internally" and no attempt to compensate for the poor experience. Mistakes can happen at any restaurant, but customer service is what separates a good establishment from a bad one. Based on the totality of circumstances from the delay of the food being ready when stated and then the order being incorrect, I had expected a bit more. Unfortunately, the lack of urgency and accountability shown by management, Julie, left a very negative impression. Between the excessive wait time, incorrect order, and inadequate response from management, this was not an experience I would recommend, and I will be hesitant to return, which is very unfortunate because we are frequent flyers and seeing quite a bit of new faces today makes me wonder if more is going on internally. Adding, as a frequent flyer, there are times that our food is incorrect with our customizations, but because we are so appreciative of the one server when they are short staffed and the quality of the food, we generally don't say anything, the reason for this review is more of the lack of customer service experience firsthand by the manager, Julie.
