The menu is in line with the rest of the chain but does offer a handful of menu items not available at all other locations (the Miramar and one other roll at the least). Thai Donuts were wonderful, hostess /waitress was very friendly quick and helpful. The price range is slightly higher than some other places in the area but considering what they offer and where it's situated, not too bad. read more

The miso soup app was ok, but was barely room temp. It was more than enough for lunch!! I even had plenty of leftovers to bring home for dinner. My friend had the Yummy Roll -- totally lived up to its name. Happy to say that Sushi Sake was pretty good. We had a few appetizers and rolls. We had a really good time with Giovanni, our waiter. Tried the Angel, TNT and some Gyoza that was really flavorful. Now we were also introduced to a new roll that is Fried but also has has Ceviche, the Chipilin Ceviche Roll. It was outstanding, with lots of flavor a little big but had us real happy at the table. I wish I could give 5 stars, but our experience had a "we're working out the kinks" vibe. Tuna spicy roll and special rolls were great. Beef negamaki would have been really good but we ordered medium temp and got more medium rare-rare. Ramen was solid and very big for the price. The inside is polished, and our server was nice. We came in the middle of the week for lunch, there were 2-3 other parties sat and an occasional pick up. It was kind of slow to get our drinks, our sushi came out before the app, and they forgot a side sauce. So really just little things that added up to a clunky lunch that was supposed to be quick and easy. I'll probably test it out one more time for delivery as I enjoyed the sushi. read more

(Blue ginger off Sheridan a close second) Hibachi and fried rice were also great. See some negative reviews on here from when they were first opening. Really enjoyable dinner. All the classics were on par- the miso soup, fried gyoza. We tried the shrimp tempura and spicy tuna hand rolls and they were good. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the rolls including the Hollywood roll, Shrimp Tempura, Black Jack roll and Vanessa roll which was our favorite. We had a terrible takeout experience from this restaurant. To start when we picked up the food the bag broke and the food went everywhere. It took them a while to remake it. We live super close so the time of travel wouldn't have effected the food much. The edamame was undercooked, the fried rice was $18 but it was a super small portion and wayyyyy over cooked, the steak was tough, the chicken was dry, and so was the shrimp, some of the sushi was fine but the miami heat roll had an off taste, the only thing that was worth it was the kids meal but the white rice that came with that was a bit undercooked as well. I was thrilled that a sushi place was opening up a few yards from my house. My kids ate there over the weekend and enjoyed their food. I went to Publix that is next door to this new sushi restaurant and asked for a menu to go. I was told in a VERY RUDE tone that they DO NOT have menus "to go" and all they offer is a QR code. So I walked out. As a new business in the community is critical to treat customers with respect. Most local places live off referrals in the area. There are many sushi restaurants options in the Miramar/Pines vicinity. If this is my first impression of this place I can imagine what will happen when I ask for more water at the table or a bottle of soy sauce. The food was very tasty and moderately priced. I've been to other Sushi Sakes and this one is just as good as the other, more established ones (Bayside, etc). I ordered 3 orders of fried rice with chicken and steak for delivery. Unfortunately there was hardly any steak or chicken in any of the 3 orders. This is a brand new Sushi Sake location in West Miramar, the owners are very courteous and friendly. However, this is my third time ordering take out and it's always the same. This was a while ago, back in December of 2023; originally I was going to just keep to myself & move on, but it just doesn't sit right with me. So now, I'm sharing my experience at this restaurant, because I don't want others to go to a place where they could be treated poorly. My godmother & I came here to have lunch since this place is pretty new & close to where we live; we love sushi so we thought we'd give this place a try. The experience started off pleasant, then it completely turned terrible. My godmother asked the waitress to put the sauce on the side for the tuna tataki we ordered, since normally that dish serves the ginger/ponzu sauce on top of the fish; it's not an outrageous request, the sauce on the side is just our preference since we do like to eat the fish dipped in soy/wasabi sauce as well, the sauce on the side just makes sure that the sauces won't be blended all together & taste weird. The waitress repeated "on the side?" My godmother answered "yes, on the side." She said "ok" wrote something in her note pad then walked away to put our order in. We waited & slowly the food starts coming, the waitress brings up the tuna tataki, which we requested for the sauce to be on the side; but instead our request was either not told to the chef or it was just completely ignored. The sauce was on top of the fish, the waitress then says she can take the dish back & bring us one with the sauce on the side. She then comes back with the sauce on the side, BUT it was not the one we had ordered, she brought us a spicy sauce on the side, not the original ginger/ponzu sauce that the dish comes with. We then told her that's not the correct sauce, so she takes the sauce back then finally brings the ginger/ponzu. We had to also ask her to bring the pickled ginger & some wasabi, which in most Japanese restaurants they will have it ready & bring it out before your food comes or bring it together with the food. She went & it took a really long time, it felt like at least 10 minutes before she set it down at our table, mind you the place at the time was just us & another customer. The service is bad, but my godmother & I decided we'll stay to enjoy the food since the waitress could just be new to her job. A few moments later, there was this random lady that just came up to our table & stood there with a very dark expression; my godmother at this point was on a call; when the call ended, she asked if she could help the lady with anything. Turns out the random lady is the owner/manager. This was not pleasant, she was just standing there looking around & staring at us for a good 2-3 minutes while my godmother was on a call & she did not seem happy; on top of that it was very uncomfortable because there was no indication that she's the owner, she didn't dress the part or have a tag that lets us know how she's related to the restaurant. It's very off putting. She was very confrontational & said that the tuna tataki comes with the sauce on top, and that's how the restaurant chain makes it & if we wanted the sauce on the side, we could request nicely to have it altered. We were not rude at all, we requested while ordering to have the sauce on the side. However, my godmother did become a bit frustrated with the waitress because it is not difficult to understand "on the side" & when the waitress is repeatedly making mistakes for that one simple request. My godmother did say to the waitress "don't you understand what on the side mean?" In a stern tone. The owner did not let it go, she started arguing with my godmother, basically trying to say that we're in the wrong. My godmother asked her to please leave us, so we could try to enjoy the food we ordered. The owner just wouldn't leave, it's like she wants to argue & cause a scene. The owner offered credit for our meal, we declined & left to another sushi restaurant. Personally I would not go back here. This place needs to do better, especially if customers have a request while ordering, they should do it right the first time. I feel the owner/manager did not know the full situation & just wanted to start an argument. In my opinion very unprofessional, everything from how she handles situations, her attitude, down to her attire. Based on my experience, this place does not deserve a second chance. No issues. When my order was ready, I asked the young lady behind the counter if my order came with sauce to which she replied, "the sauce would be an additional cost". It immediately annoyed me. If you're like me, your tired of feeling like your being taken advantage of. Be it gas, milk or just sauce or people wanting tips at the take out. The owner comes out. Instead of, How can I help you? She was confrontational. Pointing her finger at me telling me that I need to learn how to speak to people and demanding that I calm down. She is followed by an entourage of staff. Although I'm annoyed, I'm not acting out or raising my voice. I was simply expressing my dissatisfaction that after spending $40 for dinner, I can't have an additional sauce. I explained that I have dined at Sushi Sake on many occasions and never been up-charged for sauce. It felt rude! She did not budge and so I asked for a refund. It was just the principle. I did not receive a slither of understanding from the owner. Instead she chose to chastise me about expressing my dissatisfaction and immediately without provocation calls the police. No crime was committed. No threats exchanged, no loud shouting. Just a patron asking for an additional sauce that quickly turned into a situation. Not sure why she quickly decided to call the police other than the fact that I'm a tall muscular black man. Why was my natural voice level so threatening? Initially, I waited but quickly thought of the many times the cops got involved in a rather insignificant incident that immediately turns deadly. So I said, " just give me the food that I paid for, but they refused! "Just wait until the cops get here, she demanded". This seemed like one of those cases we've all seen where the police are weaponized against someone for the color of their skin. I became fearful. My thoughts were racing, contemplating how this could play out. Ultimately, I just left, without my dinner and without a refund, but then again I also left with my life. Let me mention...I was told the sauce would have been one additional dollar. One dollar! That's' nothing but it's more about the principle. Furthermore.. What would that cost be to the owner? What a great addition to the plaza. Love that you're still inside the neighborhood but feel like you actually made it east of I-75. The food was delicious, and the service amazing, but best of all was the fact that it's a family owned business. We have given this Sushi Sake several opportunities to change our minds, 4 tries in fact. It truly is a shame, because I want them to succeed, but at this rate, they are doomed for failure. We met our neighbors for dinner, 5 of us total, on Friday night. The waitress was super nice, but seemed either new or in over her head. During our whole stay we had 3 glasses of water for the whole table of 5, that she never refilled. My son's steamed shrimp shumai, which did not come out with the other appetizers, I had to ask about it, was frozen in the center and we had to send it back. We ordered a double roll for him and he stayed hungry. My husband ordered the hibachi scallops and he got sick from them. He said they were rubbery and possibly undercooked. His chicken fried rice lacked the flavor we've come to know from other Sushi Sakes. My lobster roll was good and our neighbor's food was good too. The waitress never stopped by to offer more drinks, so they lost revenue there. It's sad. The owner should be present. Of all the times I've been, she was only present the first time. If she wants to save this place, she really needs to be there to try and save it. For the prices being charged the food quality and QUANTITY needs to improve as well as the service. Not sure we will give it a 5th try. This restaurant is unlike the Sushi Sake in Key Largo which we love because it's so consistent. Too much money for mediocre food and service. read more
