The service was great, the server (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) was a gentleman who was so kind and brought out everything as it was ready. I loved that. The ambiance was cute and loud enough you couldn't hear the table next to you but quiet enough to have a conversation or come for a date night. We started with hot sake and pan fried gyoza which was nice and hot and crunchy 5/5. We always order a shrimp tempura roll it was yummy. This is one of my favorite sushi spots! Located in a busy plaza which makes parking not be an issue. Theres plenty of seating inside, very clean and spacious, and nice lighting coming in from the outside Came for lunch with a friend on a Monday and they have a lunch special. Some of the lunch items start at $15. I went with the supreme roll box that came with shrimp tempura roll, California roll, and edamame. The sushi here is always good and fresh and big portions. Our waitress was nice and attentive. She made sure we always had water and our food came out really fast. We ordered their gyoza, shrimp tempura roll, fried chicken from the happy hour and then the spicy tonkatsu ramen. All of the items exceeded our expectation, gyoza were crispy and the sauce was really good. The same for the fried chicken, and the shrimp tempura roll had a lot of flavor to it. Typically most places will have one or two things that are done well but this place nailed them all. My only critique is that the spicy tonkatsu was a bit on the salty side but I imagine that maybe it was just that batch. Happy fish sushi definitely makes a valiant effort in the fresh fish, sushi market here in Pembroke pines. My fiance and I went in for happy hour on a thursday. The restaurant is very well decorated, clean, in the bathrooms are very nice as well. Plenty of seating, feel free to come here with a large party they should be able to easily accommodate. We started with some apple sake from the happy hour menu, which my fiance says was fantastic. Then we ordered a couple appetizers, the shrimp shumai, wagyu steak nigiri and tuna sesame truffle. The shrimp shume I was very good, did not taste Frozen, was heated all the way through very nicely, steamed to perfection. The wagyu was better than most, but I would have preferred a bit more of a sear on the top. Probably would not get it again. Same with the tuna sesame truffle. It had a lot of toasted garlic and I felt this took battled and clashed with the truffle oil. We ordered the Pacific roll which was quite delicious. The hamachi had a bit of a fishy flavor, calling into question it's freshness. But overall, I very much enjoyed this light and refreshing roll. And then to finish up we ordered the wahoo tataki which was just very much overdressed. It was quite spicy, had the roasted garlic bits, plus ponzu sauce and a yuzu dropper. In order to make it taste better, I would wash each piece in ponzu sauce to get all the trappings off of it, then apply a generous amount of yuzu and found it quite delicious. I think they would have been better off letting the raw fish shine on its own, rather than dressing it up so much. Service was very mid. Overall, I teared between a three and a four-star. Probably one of the better places in Pembroke Pines, to be honest. Give it a try, and maybe right up your alley. read more
