I had lived in Japan for several years, Luv the country, the people and the food as well. Yes, I was so excited to have a Sushi Bistro in Lemoore! Today was my family's first experience, we ordered in advance, take out. Our order was Shrimp Tempura Roll, Gyoza and two orders of Katsudon. I was told 15 minutes. I called it in at 4:48pm on a Thursday. I was happily greeted immediately upon entering by the gal behind the counter. After she verified my order and I paid (at 5:05pm), I was informed they were waiting on my Katsudon. But I only waited an additional 5 minutes for my order to be complete. So it was 22 minutes total for a take out order. We get home, so looking forward to our meal, and we find two sets of chop sticks, which by the way, were the nicest throw-away chop sticks I have ever received. The presentation of the Shrimp Tempura Roll was pretty. My daughter was so excited she posted a picture of it on her Facebook page. But there is where the thrill ended. My Gyoza was a bit hard, and the meat inside was bland. The Katsudon had a very strange taste...and the pork was extremely dry as well. My daughter was bummed, the shrimp tempura roll tasted soggy and very salty like it was soaked in salt water. The worst of it all, the three of us ended up giving our meals to our dogs. I tried to eat mine, mainly because I spent good money on it. But I honestly couldn't get past the strange taste and lingering weird aftertaste. I am very disappointed. I truly hope they work out whatever the issue is with their food. But until I hear a miracle happens there, I won't be returning. I guess I am back to driving to Hanford for my Japanese food. :( read more

My grandpa chose this place for his birthday dinner, so our family decided to give it a shot. We arrived about 7:15 pm on a Friday, and the only table available for our party size was dirty, and had leftover food on it from a previous party. After we asked to have it cleaned, we ordered a significant amount of food, including the spicy seafood ramen, and yellowtail sashimi. After all of our food came except the ramen and sashimi, we waited an additional 10-15 mins. Nothing. My grandpa went up to the counter to inform the woman working up there that we hadn't received two items. She said "okay" and said they were going to make it. An additional TWENTY minutes later, still no food. When I went up to the counter, the hostess was very condescending, half paying attention to me, assuming it was a mistake on our part. I told them to cancel the order, and we left. Will not be returning. read more

Seriously the sushi is the worst rolled sushi ever. It reminded me of the sushi I rolled the first time I ever made it. The rice was overlooked and the roll was unevenly cut and fell apart when grabbing it with chopsticks. The fish was not cold and the plates warm. read more

I've gone there multiple times, their food is really good and legit, and their service has been fast.

My biggest problem with this place is that it is advertised as a fine dining establishment, but when you have to walk up to the counter to order your dinner, it is definitely not fine dining, and if that's the case, the prices should reflect that as well. They are a tad bit high for such casual service. Overall, the fish was pretty good and tasted fresh. The sashimi was good-sized cuts of fish and the rolls were great. I'm a big fan of sashimi salad, and I like the salad dressing, but they put far too much of it on the salad. They also use all iceberg lettuce (rather than mixed) which is rather cheap and plain. Mixed lettuce looks better, tastes better, and actually has more nutritional content than iceberg lettuce. They have some good cold sake options such as the white peach sake. The service overall is not bad; however, they asked if I was a VIP for the discount, so when I inquired about the program, the girl explained it was for people who dine there frequently and I had just been there about four times in the last few weeks so I asked for a card, yet she said that the owner has them and only he can give them out. So it sounds to me like this VIP program might be something that is only available if you are lucky enough to meet and get to know the owner and he deems you worthy of his "club." Seems totally fair to me. As far as sushi options in Lemoore, this is probably one of the best (only) places to get decent, fresh, good tasting sushi, but don't expect table service, unfortunately. read more

We have aways ordered sushi from here and it's always so good...tonight we couldn't even finish our sushi. It tasted like mayonnaise and wasn't even rolled like sushi. We ordered a spicy California and hot momma had to throw them out...so disappointed. The volcano, double tuna and tiger rolls weren't cut all the way through and the rice wasn't rolled. I called to give them a heads up since we are always happy with our food and the employee didn't seem to care about our situation. When you are spending over $65 on sushi you should get what you pay for...and sadly that wasn't the case for us! read more

Stopped in for lunch today. The order and pay at the counter thing is a little weird with an actual sit down restaurant. The girl at the counter was completely disinterested in her job but the guy making sushi was very nice. The restaurant itself was a little worse for wear but our sushi was awesome. I LOVE this place! I love the casual atmosphere and the awesome food. Everything is seasoned so perfectly. There honestly hasn't been one thing I've tried and not liked. They offer a wide variety of drinks from boba to different teas. I come in and order their tonkosu ramen everytime. They are always willing to accommodate something for my 2 year old to enjoy as well. They are very helpful and I only wish they had one where I live. Couldn't believe what happened tonight. First the service was horrible, but there was a new girl at the register trying her best. Whoever was training her was in a terrible mood and just seemed frustrated. There was some guy at the sushi bar who I would say was pretty tipsy and all of the sudden he just walked behind the register and stopped the girl who was suppose to be training the new girl for three beers for his buddy's. Found out the seaweed salad is frozen. Even asked the girl at the register if the place was under new ownership/management. When I get home my food sucked! I know what your thinking sushi in lemoore but this place is actually a gem they have great sushi great poke bowls and amazing ramen. My favorite is the spicy tuna bowl! I really enjoy their food and I have ordered ahead for pickup six-seven times now. I am always right on time to pick-up my order and have never waited less than 15 minutes. Love this place, their food is great. I just wish their cashiers were all on the same page. Sometimes I get someone who obviously doesn't want to be there and sometimes I get someone able and willing to hold a conversation while I wait. I also wish the location itself was as nice as they make it feel. I don't think it's that big of a deal but some change in flooring and tables would make it seem alot nicer. Me coming from LA county area, Im used to go to variety of restaurants to satisfy my asian cravings. This is the first time I saw an asian restaurant that serves Ramen and other Japanese food that are not usually found in Lemoore and I was definitely excited. They have a great selection of sushi and entrees that saved me from driving to Hanford, Visalia or Fresno. I usually get their Tonkatsu Ramen and Thai Tea. They also have Lunch specials (Bento Box of chicken teriyaki/ beef teriyaki/ or with combination of california roll) for a decent price. Came here for dinner. You place your order at the cashier, and after you pay you're given glasses to fill your own soda/water. Find a table and wait for the cashier to bring your food. Its fast food concept in a better environment. Ordered 2 entrees which come with miso soup, salad and rice, and also ordered shrimp & veg tempura and yakisoba noodles. Worst service ever. The term "Bistro" implies you will have wait staff and this place doesn't really have that. The food is good although the sushi rolls fell apart too easily. I had the Red Dragon roll and my friend had a Caterpillar roll and Orange Chicken Bowl. Mine wasn't as spicy as the menu stated and the tuna on top was pureed which is strange to me. The Caterpillar roll was good and the chicken bowl was very tangy. Food is good and will eat there again with the expectation that food will NOT come to the table at the same time and I will have to get up to get a refill on drinks. I would have given more stars but the service was non-existent. One "hostess" with her cell phone out, one person behind the sushi bar making rolls, and one person bringing each dish out one at a time and never bothering to see if we needed refills on drinks. If they changed the name of the place to Sushi Bar (without the "Bistro") I wouldn't have had the expectation of service at the tables. Just go in, order, sit down with a number (Carls Jr. Style), and wait .... and wait .... and wait for your food and then wait some more for the rest of your tables food... and wait and wait.... you get the picture. read more
