After seeing that this restaurant had fairly good reviews, I decided to give it a try and stray from my. normal sushi joint. Within seconds of walking in to Sushi Thai, it was obvious that the air conditioner was broken or non-existent. It was SO hot and sticky in there. My friend who came with me was sweating by the end of the meal. With that being said, the lack of air conditioning along with the cluttered, small, not so clean room made this atmosphere not so appealing. The sushi was very cheap, but you get what you paid for. It was decent tasting, but it was warm. Every other piece of sushi I've had in my life (minus the tempura sushi), has been chilled so this was disappointing. It also made me question how fresh and well kept the fish they used was. Also the size of each piece was smaller than I'm used too, so I'm guessing that's why each roll was cheaper than other sushi restaurants. The last thing that frustrated me about this place was the service. They were not very friendly, except for the chef who was making the sushi (forgive me for it know the correct name for this type of chef). He was nice and thanked us for coming. The hostess and server were impatient and seemed like they were trying to rush us. I didn't understand this because there was only one other customer in the building and it was 4:00; they were not busy. While we were ordering, we mentioned to our server that we would be on separate checks. After our meal, she returned with one check. The hostess stopped by to pick up our credit cards. When we had told her that we needed our bill to be split, she seemed frustrated by this request. Overall, I will not be returning here unless I'm in a rush and craving sushi. read more

Best sushi in the St. Louis area for sure! My wife and I love this place. The sushi is very fresh and not only tastes amazing but the chef is a real artist with the way he makes the rolls. Great atmosphere, it feels very authentic. The best part is the staff, they remember every customer. My wife asked for extra pickled ginger one time. The only other review here MUST be a fluke! Every time my husband and I have been there, it has been wonderful! We have had the "raw" maki as well as the "cooked" maki and both have a very good taste. I'm not fond of the texture of "raw" maki, but the taste was still really good. My personal favorite was the sweet potato maki!
