    The sushi train

We went for lunch. Very modern decor and clean. Many options on the conveyor the whole time we were there. The sushi was excellent and ever reasonably priced. The waiter great. Explained everything very clearly.

This place still has bad service. It took 10+ minutes to get a glass of water after I had been seated. Water was never refilled. Had a few plates, everything was fine, nothing spectacular. An easy sushi fix if you are in the area but overall I'd never feel ok recommending this place due to the bad service.

This was my first sushi conveyor belt experience and it was a lot of fun! If you are going to eat a lot of sushi, this may not be the most economical, because those purple plates drive the price up pretty quick, but it is a great way to try a bunch of different sushi items, and also works well for sharing. In addition to the sushi train, there is also full menu of ramen, apps and poke bowls. We ordered some spring rolls and gyoza from the menu, and then went all in on the sushi train! Items are priced by plate, with the purple plates at $7.00 being the most expensive. The sushi was fairly good overall. The only item I had that I did not care for was the octopus role. Not the best sushi I have had in the TC, but not the worst either, and it is a fun experience. Our server was kind and attentive. We went at lunch on a weekday and there was absolutely no reservation needed.

Stopped by Sushi Train for dinner before seeing a show at Orchestra Hall - the location is great! Easy walking distance (about 1 block). Very fun experience watching the sushi go by on the conveyer belt. I liked that the menus on the table go into detail about what's in each roll. Each roll is labeled and also clearly states if it's cooked or raw. You pay by plate and each color means a different price point. Our server was so accommodating and since our ordered appetizer (not on the conveyer belt) came late, he took care of one round of drinks for us. So nice!

Want to try revolving sushi? Want to dine without waiting ? Want surprised? Want attentive service ? Come try! Food 3/5 Some items 2/5 (crispy rice; rice was hard and not crispy; ) mackerel (dry and been out long) Service 4/5 Ambiance 4/5 For a quick lunch ? This is fine I do worry just a little about food safety and the temperature of the items... some might have been out long at room temp....

    Their Chocolate Temptation is amazing.

The sushi and udon was some of the best I have ever tasted. My waiter was funny, charming, thoughtful, and knew the right recommendations for my meal (I was the one from Ohio here for the conference). Finally, the place made me feel really relaxed during lunch. Was close enough to Hyatt and Hilton that it made for an easy walk to get to. Had to get the Chocolate Temptation to finish the meal.

This was first conveyor belt sushi place I've been to. The staff was amazing especially Keri my former coworker from ages ago. The sushi was good. Spicy tuna took awhile to get to us. My THC drink was fantastic. It was a flower night so not many people are around.

Sat at the counter and had easy access to sushi train.

Pros: close to the Minneapolis convention center so I was able to pop in for a quick lunch. The food was good and they seemed to refresh the food. Con: the server was rude, but everyone else I encountered was lovely so overall a great visit

We were looking forward to a sushi train spot, after being without one locally since we moved South. We arrived early evening and were one of only two couples in the restaurant. Our server was wonderful and the concept fun but the food was simply not good. At previous sushi train restaurants we have been to, we have seen them frequently switch out sushi on the belt for fresh versions. We were there over an hour and never once saw them replace any of the plates, which was a bit off-putting. The sushi with fried items were cold and soft, sweet potatoes undercooked, and the ramen lacking any substance or flavor. The veggie tempura was good, however. Even if we lived nearby, we still wouldn't be back to this spot, even with the convenience and cool concept. The cost snuck up quickly but we appreciated that the cost was clear based on the color of plate. Some unique items and desserts on the belt as well.

    Dried out wasabi and ginger.

We've been coming to Sushi Train for maybe five or six years. In the last year the service has become terrible. One time in the winter we had a server demand we fire our real estate agent and hire him instead. Today we've been rudely told to stand in another area - the rest of the waiting area had only been vacated for 10 seconds. Today our waiter loudly demanded that we order something other than water. My dude, so sorry but *demanding* I do something optional is a great way to make sure I don't do it. After that he couldn't be bothered to take our order, refill water, or take the order for the drink. Water was warm. The food quality is okay. The food here has never been bad - but the quality has been higher in the past. There is one exception - the wasabi is terrible. It was so dried out I have to cut it in half to get something moist.

Sushi train is a fun conveyor about sushi restaurant on Nicolette Mall. It was very busy the evening I went. We were able to be seated at a table after waiting a few minutes. Different colored plates of sushi were rotating through the conveyor belt constantly. The price per plate is listed on the wall. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I wish the rice had been seasoned with a little bit more mirin, but overall sushi quality was good. It was busy and lively and has a fun atmosphere. Seating is at tables for two or booths that can seat four, so it might be hard to have larger groups and sit together. The sushi chefs were constantly making sushi for the customers to eat. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you like a conveyor belt sushi restaurant with an energetic vibe.

I decided to stop here very last minute as I looked up for sushi spots near the hotel I was staying at. I have gone to other revolving sushi spots but the plates will all be the same price while here that is not the case. The prices range from about $2.20 to as high as $6.95 the workers were super sweet and very helpful. I did like the layout of the place. It's super simple to use. Simply pick up what you want from the conveyor belt and keep the plate at your table. I'm giving it a four out of five stars because the sushi wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I could be a bit biased as I live in another state Where we can get really fresh sushi very easily. It also could be that Minnesota makes their sushi a bit different than from where I'm from. However I still would recommend the spot to check out even if you just need a small quick bite. You can spend a little to nothing to get yourself a little bit of fuel.

Does it get any better to get to sit and have sushi travel past your table like a train? Nope, it doesn't. Love this place.

Dude wasn't sure which order was mine when I came up to get it so who knows right? But it was garbage sushi. Truly. No freshness and really weird. It looked very odd but both the freshness and flavor was off. I've had sushi many places and this was inedible. And so expensive for no service! I paid $40 to not eat or drink anything and to be satisfied by a Burger King stop. I'd be so curious as to what this place think it did well. Service? Nope. Quality anything? Nope. At one point someone took my chopsticks away but left the garbage sushi. So she saw I wasn't eating it, took my utensils away but left the garbage sushi. Was I supposed to just motor boat it! Terrible. From Beginning to end. Horrible.

My husband found Hikari first and insisted we visit. I didn't even know about Eat Street Crossing,…read moreso the whole thing was new to me. So Eat Street Crossing is a food hall, with lots of different fun food vendors. There's a "host" stand at the front, but it's not really a traditional restaurant. I think the person at the stand is just there to help with questions and directions. So anyway, the sushi bar is right in front of you as you walk in. You order at the counter, are given a little buzzer and wait for your food. We went for lunch and when we arrived, there was just one guy behind the counter. We perused them menu and ordered: a trio of handrolls (what a deal at $18), the audi roll and the hikari roll. I thought we might have under-ordered, but it was plenty of food. The one dude behind the counter was in the unenviable position of having to prepare food while also taking orders. He managed it though, and our food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. The sushi was delicious. The fish was very fresh, the other ingredients also very fresh. The hand rolls were unique in that they are actual rolls that look more like logs than the traditional cone. But still delicious nonetheless. If I had any feedback at all on the sushi itself, it would be that the rolls were SO large that honestly I had trouble eating some of the pieces in a single bite. The rolls were pretty wide circumference wise and the pieces were generously thick. But they were very close to too large. I kept looking around to see if anyone was noticing my very poor sushi eating etiquette as I tried to deal with this. Fortunately, everyone was busy with their own stuff. We happened to sit pretty close to the host stand and I asked the guy there what the building used to be ... it's obviously old, with huge wooden beams way up in the rafters and lots of cool staircases running up to what I assume would have been at least the third level back in the day. He told me they used to paint big giant banners/signs in the building. I just thought that was a really cool piece of trivia. Anyway, loved the food, loved the design of the actual restaurant. I was obsessed with the graphic hanging on the wall and the cute goldfish hanging from the ceiling. My only true complaint is that the EDM music was pumped up way too loud for this old lady and her old ears. But other than that, totally enjoyable. Will definitely return.

I got the Party Girl this last time and it was good but pretty boozy. The gold flak on the top of it was a bit over the top for me, but whatever.
