Churo toro tuna belly handroll
Claire L.

Located in the eat street crossing food hall. Lots of seating available. Parking is ok with their free lot but the area is a little hard to get to. Every aspect of the sushi is done very well! I was really was impressed with the quality, texture and flavor of the rice. Its fluffy and soft. The fish pieces are large, melt in your mouth and flavorful. This place has tuna belly (churo toro) which is uncommon to see and find! Rivaling the selection of Chef Baaska and Billy sushi but more accessible to the average person. In the future, I hope they will offer a chef's choice nigiri flight. This quality of fish could shine in a nigiri. The rolls are large and a good price. The salmon hand roll has full intact pieces which in my opinion is better than the minced fish. My favorite was hirkari roll followed by the salmon hand roll. The owner Jason is very nice and passionate about his food. Sitting at the bar and talking with him is a really a true Japanese experience!

My fiancé and I tried this place out and we loved it! The rolls were so delicious and had a lot of flavor. Our service was great and quick. Also, Eat Street Crossing is always a good vibe.

A new hand roll bar has opened in Minnesota!! Located in Eat Street Crossing (great location with other restaurants in the food hall). When I went there, it was still soft opening so, it was not as busy yet. The worker was super friendly and informative. My friend and I got the spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy crab and scallop hand roll. The worker informed us to eat it right away, or the seaweed would get soggy. I would say each roll is very simple and basic but that's what I like about it. It will definitely fill you up quickly. Each roll was stuffed and kept me very full. I was only able to eat two hand rolls before getting full. My favorites are the salmon and spicy crab. I'll def want to come back and try more out!

Eat Street Crossing's food court has Hikari which is known for their hand rolls and they are good! It was fun getting to know Jason, one of the chefs, as he talked about the restaurant and his knowledge in sushi. I liked the spicy scallop handroll which is a popular one. I also had a 6 piece premium sushi order that was a treat if you like toro. They ran out of uni but he added extra toro on top which was awesome. The premium sushi is pricey but the fish is high quality.

I tried the Sexy Salmon Roll. It was 8 pieces for $20--so the price was extreme to me. The service was good. My husband and I went for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon, and we were served promptly. Although, I do have to say that the pieces are bigger than usual. Overall, it was decent sushi. Due to the pricing, I would have a hard time deciding which rolls I wanted, but I'm glad they have a home at Eat Street Crossing.

This sushi restaurant is located in Eat Street crossing foodhall. We walked into the building and I saw a familiar face. I didn't know my friend is now working at this place. I asked him to make me a poke bowl, one with rice for my friend and for me veggies. This restaurant is known for their hand rolls and sushi. The poke bowl he made me was delicious.

Have been back several times and can say that quality and service is consistently stellar. Chef Jason and his team take great care in using fresh ingredients and provide wonderful service. New favorites are the toro handroll when available and the sexy salmon roll. Great ambiance and love that there are many seating options in the food hall. A fun place to go with friends and family!

Hikari Handroll Bar has become my go-to sushi spot in Minneapolis, and for good reason. Jason's passion for quality shines through in every hand roll--fresh, well-balanced, and packed with flavor. With top-tier imported seafood, great prices, and consistently warm, welcoming service, every visit feels special. Whether it's a birthday celebration or just an excuse to return, I'm always impressed. If you love sushi, don't hesitate--give this place a shot. Minneapolis has been waiting for a spot like this for a long time.

Hikari Hand Roll is a brand new sushi/hand roll spot inside of Eat Street Crossing. I love sushi and have struggled to find good quality sushi that is even somewhat affordable in the Twin Cities, and this place definitely delivers on both counts. I went with a friend and we tried the Hikari sushi roll, which for $22 is sizeable and packed to the brim with fresh sushi-grade fish. We also tried the sexy salmon roll, which was packed with spicy ahi and topped with buttery salmon slices, and the scallop hand roll, which chef told me he imports directly from Hokkaido, Japan. I got to talking with Chef Jason and was blown away by his passion for sushi and providing good quality dishes for his customers. They are in a soft opening stage right now with a grand opening next month, and I will DEFINITELY be back!

Chef Jason did an amazing job delivering fresh hand rolls bursting with flavor, freshness and quality. The over atmosphere was fun and upbeat! Will definitely come again. Recommend the spicy scallop hand roll, spicy salmon and tuna!

Plump full of fish!

Unreal! We had four rolls, and they were all impeccable and just filled to the brim with fresh, flavorful fish. Hikari quickly became our favorite sushi shop in Minneapolis. We will absolutely be back with friends and you should go too!

Hakari Roll
Enzo C.

The fish was fresh and good but IMO the rolls were super Meh. Not a lot of flavor or options. Probably wouldn't go back.

Chef's choice nigiri, hikari roll, hand rolls

Found this place randomly through yelp and decided to try it out. The sushi was absolutely delicious! The fish was very fresh and Jason was AMAZING! He was so friendly and picked the most delicious fish in the chef special. Best sushi in the cities!

Momo Sushi is my favorite sushi in Minneapolis. Everytime I get asked for a sushi spot…read morerecommendation, I always say Momo. The rolls are huge and packed with incredible combinations. There is a great variety of rolls so everyone is going to be pleased with the meal. The restaurant itself is tight on space but the dining experience makes up for it. I recommend you beat the dinner rush and go early when they reopen for the evening. Warning, it does get really busy almost everyday because it is just that good! Location-wise it is great because if you struggle to find parking in the small lot next to the spot, you can park on a residential street behind the restaurant and take a short stroll. I'm curious as to what the takeout experience is, I haven't had the chance to order, I would rather dine in the restaurant.

It was fine, we walked through the Indian grocery next door. (also fun!) We had a great little table inside. We ordered the Giaoza pork and tumpra veggies to start. It was less that $60 for our family of 4. I can't wait to come back and try more.

It was extremely packed. There was no place to wait. I got on an electronic waiting list- I was 5th. It was about 7pm? Billy After Dark around the corner was closed that night so they suggested Flora and I went there. I decided to come back when I moved to 3rd place on the waiting list and it was about 8:20pm. They realized I had a reservation and canceled the waitlist and I was given a choice of table but chose to be seated at the sushi bar. I ordered the salmon carpaccio (again) and the tiger maki (again). Both were great. My waiter Conner was very attentive and had a sense of humor. I talked to The manager who was genuinely interested in the weird journey to my seat over the last few hours as a single diner. We didn't solve the voicemail mystery (we called and they picked up. When they didn't pick (as told) up there was a regular business vm. Strange.) Highly recommend. Will return. Make a reservation early on OpenTable. Or be prepared to wait many hours. Once seated, it was fun to see the menu with the pictures and decide what to order. I got a drink that was beautiful--very carbonated and a little bit bitter in taste. I ordered the bad and boujee roll for one of the rolls and it was SO GOOD! I would highly recommend this roll to anyone ! Sushi was delicious! Would return, just at an earlier time, would maybe reserve at an earlier time and arrive a little early to be seated sooner.

From the moment we arrived, the valet parking made everything easy (though I recommend taking an Uber if you're doing the wine pairing... you'll definitely want to savor every sip). We went for the Matsu omakase, and wow -- every course was a work of art. The freshly grated wasabi, the thoughtful pacing, and watching each dish come to life at the sushi bar turned dinner into a full sensory experience. Chef Shiga was an incredible host -- friendly, engaging, and clearly passionate about his craft. And to top it all off, we had the pleasure of meeting Owner-Chef Shigeyuki Furukawa at the end of our meal -- such a gracious and humble culinary genius! Unfortunately, it just wasn't the same top tier experience. We booked the chef's table which was the highlight! We enjoyed getting to watch the chef and team prepare the fare, and chef even spoke to us at one point. Definitely a high level of skill there. We got the yakitori to start: good, but nothing crazy, and the price point for the small skewers is so high. The waygu was a bit tough. After time in Japan, we were JAZZED to get the okonomiyaki pizza, but it was...very sad. Hardly any toppings, and I don't even think it had cabbage on it? No cabbage on an okonomiyaki pizza...? We got a pasta to share as well, and it had great flavors but the portion was oh-so-tiny. We got the special morel pizza to share, and the price was STEEP (I think around $50) due to the rarity of morels, but it was the best thing we had! The gluten-free pizza crust felt small and wasn't overly substantial, so we didn't find much of the meal filling. This meal was quite pricey, and this second experience was more lackluster than our first.

Drinks: The Last Samurai cocktail & the Imposter Among Us mocktail were both delightful. Love the unique drink options, and the two we had were executed beautifully. Sushi: Unfortunately, the sushi was a bit disappointing. We had the hotate yuzu, Suzuki oshizushi, tamago nigiri, and the futomaki. The rice was unfortunately undercooked, and also too lightly seasoned. The tamago was alright, the futomaki was very good though. Dessert: The yuzu custard - one of my favorite desserts I've eaten in a long time. Definitely the best thing we had and I would absolutely get it again. Service: Our service was pretty good. I did watch one of the other servers grab soup spoons by the part you eat from and then bring them to a table which was concerning. The ambiance is a bit odd and disjointed but we kind of loved it as it keeps the "hole in the wall" feeling. Our server was fantastic - we weren't sure how hungry we were so we just ordered rolls, nagiri, and onigiri as the dinner rolled on with no real objective other than than walking away full - and he just rolled with us as we went. The sake flight was great with some generous pours but I was disappointed in the mocktails. The rolls were delicious, albeit a bit basic. The onigiri was great and I was a huge fan of the salmon but the tuna just wasn't hitting for me.
