This place is an amazing find! Small busy place but great fresh tasting food at an even better price! Got there around 6p on a Fri- got right in. Four rolls (three specialty ones) with a LARGE portion of veggie fried rice (came w soup & two crab rangoons). They also gave us a spicy crab salad for waiting (which was not very long). Also we had three cocktails. TONS of food/drink for under $70!!! Awesome. Would definitely recommend! Service was outstanding. read more

This is the Best sushi I have found in the KC metro area. It's no Sushi Den or Sushi Sasa, but these guys do a great job. I've been going here for over a year now. I enjoy the food every time. Today, my family was waited on by someone I've never noticed. He was a very good server. Sometimes when I dine in, the service can be very slow. It wasn't with him. He also gets bonus points for remembering my lemon I requested with my water. I usually get basic sushi rolls just because I don't prefer the cooked ones. I also have been hooked on their tempura udon soup. I don't know why because there really isn't anything special about it, but it's so delicious to me. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars than 5 is because the wait to get sat always takes a while. We ordered the Rock n Roll, the 87th St Roll and Crab Rangoon and receive a complimentary Spicy Crab Salad which was so delicious and refreshing. We liked the Rock n Roll best out of the two rolls. But there is so many more things on the menu we want to try. The waitstaff was so friendly and welcoming however we did have to ask for lemons for my water several times. It was second time eating there and everything was so good again. I arrived right at 11 AM for lunch and I didn't have to wait for the table. I had to wait for a table for more than 30 minutes when I went there for dinner around 6:30PM for the first time. The quality of sushi was very good and everything was so fresh. My friend who owns a sushi restaurant told me that their portion of sushi rice is a little much. Other than that he also enjoyed sushi there. Amazing. Simply amazing. I went to Sushi UNI today for their lunch special 3 rolls for $13 tax included. I tried shrimp tempura roll, calamari roll, and spider roll. Before I get into the foods I would like to say that the two chef who prepared my rolls was very sanitary and organized about everything even when the restaurant was packed. Shrimp tempura: can't go wrong with this. Pretty similar to other sushi place. 8 pieces Calamari roll: Never tried it before. Thought it tasted pretty similar to shrimp tempura. It was my favorite. SOOOOOOO good. 8 pieces Spider roll: First time like Calamari roll. Bit bigger roll than the others. Very filling. Didn't like it as much as other two but that's just me. It felt like I was eating fried crab. Probably what it's supposed to taste like but It wasn't for me. 6 pieces The rolls comes with 2 crab rangoon w/duck sauce and choice of soup or salad. I got miso soup as my choice. Crab rangood was IMO better than any other japanese or chinese place I've been to and thought sweet and sour duck sauce went great with it. Miso soup was Miso soup. Tasted good and fresh. Not sure if they make it from scratch but Miso soup is Miso soup. The food alone was an amazing experience but the thing that made me write my first review of a restaurant after having a yelp account for past couple of years was the service. Morgan who was in change of the dining room was very outgoing and had great people skills. She talked to her guests and made everyone smile. She frequently checked on everyone to see if they needed anything and made sure everyone's happy. Chef Andrew who was in charge of making sushi and rolls with the owner, focused on making each and every rolls perfect while interacting with customers when he's done with his task. It was another unique experience to see the owner in person making the food as well. Overall one of the best food and service I had in a very long time and I'll defenitely visit this restaurant frequently from now on. Loved this place!!!!! We sat at the bar so we could watch them make our sushi. We loved the spicy crab salad. Perfect balance of seaweed and crab salad. The. My family and I usually order carry-out here and never had a problem with getting our order on time. But last night I called to order carry-out for my dad at 6:00PM and it was a big order so they said it'd be ready around 7:20-7:30, which is when we were planning to pick it up. My mom had got there around 7:20, and they had said the order was not ready and they would bring our order out to her when it was. About 40 min passes, my mom called me saying she still hasn't gotten the order while others who were there after her were getting theirs. She goes back in and they said THEY HAVEN'T EVEN MADE OUR ORDER. She had to wait another 30 min to finally get it and there was no apology but just a sarcastic "here you go".
