    Deep fried sushi
    Ranita S.

It was good but not amazing. I don't know why I keep order deep fried sushi as it is just not authentic or flavorful anywhere I guess it's just tempting by mine was a bit greasy and bland Now the seaweed crab salad was perfection and really good Some prices of items seemed affordable and some were more pricey Over all I will order from them again and this time I will stay away from the deep fried sushi

I came here with friends for lunch prior to a pool day. We ordered a variety of rolls. They were all very neatly made with a great rice-to-filling ratio. Amateurs will include too much rice, but the Sushi Village chefs are pros! The lunch special makes Sushi Village especially worth it. As of Fall 2022, you can get 2 rolls (6 pieces each) for $9.95 or 2 rolls for $11.95. The servers are very nice, and so are the checkout staff with whom I have interacted when getting takeout. My favorite order is a salmon roll, bagel roll, and California roll. Call me basic, but I absolutely love the creaminess of avocado, cream cheese, and salmon in my sushi. In my opinion, for the casual sushi lover, Sushi Village presents great value for some yummy sushi, especially at lunch time! I am, and will remain, a regular.

Omg! Love the new strawberry sake!! Great service and great food too! Need to try the plum sake next time!

My goodness! What a wonderful discovery! I had no idea this place existed. We accidentally ended up here after discovering our original lunch spot was closed. Sushi Village 280 was there to save the day! The staff was very inviting and courteous. I was able to basque in a serene atmosphere while I enjoyed my meal that was served quickly. There was an option to sit outside but we chose to dine inside because it was superbly serene. I ordered Shrimp Tempura with avocado inside layered over with yum yum sauce, eel sauce and sweet chili sauce! My taste buds were tap dancing. Not sure if I've had sushi this yummy and satisfying in a good while--maybe the best I've ever had! To give my sweet tooth some soothing I ordered vanilla mochi ice cream drizzled in chocolate sauce and it was divine! The portions were perfect, not too much, not too little. I can't wait to get back, hopefully when traffic isn't so bad on 280;)

We throughly love eating here. I prefer seaweed on the outside of Sushi rolls though but the trend is to offer the "inside out" rolls at most restaurants.

The rice was too mushy/wet and the portion of rice per piece was way too large. * Pork Bao: Not worth the mention (or a photo). Skip this one. Verdict: 5/5 stars. Our empty cocktail glasses never got picked up...and the appetizer plates only got removed after we specifically asked for them to. When we voiced our concerns to management, he was aloof. Our salads were comped but our checks still were not correct with which couples ordered what. We were so ready to leave we didn't ask them to fix it and decided to settle up with our friends later. The Salmon was outstanding -- fresh and flavorful, easily my favorite. The Beef version was a bit bland and dry for my taste, though. The sides really shined. The Takoyaki (octopus dumplings) were delicious and unique, topped with Takoyaki sauce, tempura scraps, and perfectly cooked. The Gyoza, Japanese Egg Rolls, and Shrimp Tempura were all light, crispy, and excellent. The Squid Salad was also very good and made a nice addition. Overall, a tasty experience with some standout items. We'll definitely be back soon!

There was clearly an overstaffing of servers. There were about 6 or 7 servers for about 4 takes that were in there. Meanwhile the sushi makers were trying their hardest to push out the rolls. And the single bartender was overwhelmed. The sushi was pricey (18-20$ for 6-8 pieces) and EXTREMELY underwhelming. Didn't seem like high quality fish or anything special. Could get similar quality for much cheaper elsewhere. My favorite sushi place that is about the same price point is Bamboo on 2nd. I've been going there for years and never had a bad experience. They have much higher quality sushi, better service, and food in general. (No I'm not affiliated with them)
