This is a tough review to post because there was so much good and so much bad. Let's start with the good. I ordered the all you can eat sushi and was very impressed with the quality and freshness of the rolls, everything except my snow crab salad was on point. Now the bad.... The service was absolutely terrible. After seating ourselves we literally had to flag the server down to get drink orders in as and to get the menus in a almost empty restaurant. There were two other groups of people there to be exact. The orders took forever to come out, it almost felt like they were stalling us out because I chose the all you can eat. After the first round of sushi rolls, I wanted to put in another order of rolls, so I asked for a menu. The server comes back with a fork we asked for 5 minutes prior, leaves and goes in the back of the restaurant before I can ask for the menu again. He then comes back out after 5mins, we wave him down for the menu and he's like "oh that's right, I forgot." At this point it's 30mins from closing and they make an announcement for last call for sushi rolls. We got there with a hour and 45mins before closing. I was able to get back two orders from the all you can eat menu, with two items I ordered from the first go around that came out right before the second order came to our table. Talk about about limiting how much you can eat from the ALL YOU CAN EAT menu lol. I'll definitely give them another chance because the sushi was actually really good. So go early and order everything you want on the first order, and keep asking them on the status of the food lol. That will make the experience almost close to regular. read more

I would probably give a 4 star review for better accuracy. The sushi is pretty good. It's not the best in Dutchess county but it's definitely not the worst. I say it's the best in fishkill / East fishkill / beacon area. It's priced very reasonably, the sushi is always fresh, and it's not sticky/fishy. The flavors are awesome. They also have great soups and apps like tempura which are always good. Delivery is really quick and accurate. I get form Grubhub often and never had a wrong order, spill or mess. It also comes in a reasonable time. I would recommend getting take out or delivery. Service is not good and what brings it to a true four star review. This place has improved. May be its new owners or staff. The last time I went here was about a year and a half ago. I was there before, that incident. And swore I wouldn't go back. The 'service' terrible and excruciatingly slow. An hour to get a bowl of soup?! And they weren't busy. But, I wasn't driving, this time. It's still pretty slow getting the food to the table. So bad you may have forgotten what you ordered. The miso soup was insipid and with a few tiny cubes of tofu and nori. If you've ever reconstituted dried seaweed it really expands. I can only think this was nori dust. The pork Tonkatsu it was edible, but very dry. The Tonkatsu sauce was too sweet and didn't help the food's moistness, since there was none to begin with. Pre-pandemic we used to come to this establishment for all you can eat sushi. The quality was great, the service always lacking. Covid hit, and in-restaurant dining put things at a halt. We did a lot of takeout sushi from other places and decided to try Sushi Village again. After spending $70 on sushi, I was VERY disappointed. The quality of the sushi was HORRIBLE. Again, I'm not new to sushi. The sushi tasted overtly fishy - like old fish. Like it was sitting out all day, or a week old. I couldn't even finish my rolls, that's how bad they were. Ah, good ole Sushi Village. Located just outside of the town of Hopewell this is our go to spot for all you can eat sushi. Their menu has a lot more to offer other than just rolls, consisting of hot apps, soups and desert. I really enjoy this place, but I cannot give it the 4 stars it deserves for its food. The issue i have is that your tips do NOT go to the server. This bothers me so much. On a few occasions the waiter and waitress told us they do not get tips working there and that the tip money goes to the owners instead. This is so uncool, and has forced us to tip our servers directly into their hand with cash. I do not support this at all, and although I do enjoy the food here I do not like how staff is treated. Overall you will enjoy the food here, location is clean and food comes out very fast. Save some room for desert because they have the best ice cream here (coconut is my fav flavor). read more

Usually greasy and flavorless. But you come here for sushi. The only downside is the service. There is usually only one waiter, even during busy times. You can sit there with an empty water the entire time. You'll have to flag down the waiter to get the paper to put in the next round. 8/25/2017 Went here for lunch today and, frankly, was not impressed. My friend and I had the Maki combo lunch, served with the usual miso soup and house salad. This also consisted of 4 rolls from the menu, 4 pieces per roll. The rolls were quite small and the rice was bland - seriously missing that nice tang you get from properly seasoned sushi rice. Maybe it was a bad day? (We were the only people there at lunch time) I had a salmon skin roll, yellowtail scallion roll (couldn't find the scallions), spicy white tuna roll and spicy salmon roll (I think they forgot the "spicy"). Except for the obvious crunch of the salmon skin roll everything tasted the same. I'll give it one more try, probably for dinner for the AYCE menu - maybe that will be better. read more

Had to flag him down 40 min later for the next all you can eat order, busboy brought it to the table 40 min later. Had to flag him down an hour later for the check, which I gladly wrote $0 for a tip. They even wanted to charge $1 per piece of sushi that was left on the plate ($8). Will certainly never return. Also, told them on the side at the beginning of the meal it was my fiance's birthday and asked if they could bring out something with a candle in it, and they said OK. Of course, they never did that. This AYCE sushi/sashimi /cooked delectables restaurant opened up on June 2nd, 2013. My group was the first customers to patron this roomy, richly decored, dual large TV screened dining experience. If you are looking something similar to compare to, if you've been to any other Sushi Village of this chain, or been to any Sushi X, the menu is very similar with a few variations. The way you order your AYCE is placing the desired quantity amount next to the food item you want on one of two sheets of menu items. Desserts here are also part of the AYCE. At the opening price of $21.95, it's a price you cannot beat for the variety offered. Others in my party also ordered non-AYCE dishes, such as the Teriyaki Red Snapper Box, which comes with The Teriyaki Red Snapper, 2 Tempura Shrimp, 2 Tempura Sweet Potatoes, 2 Tempura Eggplants, 3 Gyoza, Rice, Salad, and a scoop of ice cream, and a choice of roll. All for $16.95; a fantastic price. As for the quality of food, the freshness is okay. Not super fresh, not bad either. The sushi rice is also a matter of preference. It's low on the vinegar, which is great for low acidity, and makes us all less thirsty, but the rice is not as moist or sticky. The food came out quickly unlike other AYCE sushi chains, such as Sushi Palace. They have BBQ Squid like many other chains, but do not have BBQ short ribs like others. The icecreams offered here are Mango, Red Bean, Green Tea, and Vanilla. The Mango flavored icecream taste like an artificial Mango flavored slushy with cream. The Red Bean taste like vanilla. The Green Tea icecream is the only one with real quality. Vanilla is what it is. They accept Master, AMEX, Discover, and nearly every other card that was whipped out. One of the best "all you can eat" sushi places I've ever been to, if not the best. Had dinner here with three coworkers and everything was great except for three things. The squid sashimi was NOT fresh, tasted nasty, but luckily did not make any of us sick. The tomago (egg) sashimi was dry and crumbly, maybe old or just overcooked... edible but not pleasant. And one of my coworkers ordered tobiko (flying fish roe) sashimi which was just a big soup spoon full of the orange eggs. That didn't taste fresh either. But lesson learned. I'd probably give it three and a half stars if I could, but the all-you-can-eat deal is an incredible bargain so I'm rounding up in the hope that this place will stay in business. Went there on a Sunday around 7pm and it was maybe half full. We ordered about 15 different rolls and our order came out quick, maybe 15 minutes, and everything was delicious.
