    Shrimp teriyaki with sushi

It's the 4th of July, we were looking for another location and we found it closed. So Sushi Village was not far and decided to come in. We have been here before and didn't have an issue. So here we are again. It's decorated in Japanese style, it's clean. From coming in I already knew what I was going to order. Bento Box. I get a salad (which I love the salad dressing ) and I get miso soup which I also like. My bento box arrived, yummy. The shrimp is a bit over cooked,

This is a tough review to post because there was so much good and so much bad. Let's start with the good. I ordered the all you can eat sushi and was very impressed with the quality and freshness of the rolls, everything except my snow crab salad was on point. Now the bad.... The service was absolutely terrible. After seating ourselves we literally had to flag the server down to get drink orders in as and to get the menus in a almost empty restaurant. There were two other groups of people there to be exact. The orders took forever to come out, it almost felt like they were stalling us out because I chose the all you can eat. After the first round of sushi rolls, I wanted to put in another order of rolls, so I asked for a menu. The server comes back with a fork we asked for 5 minutes prior, leaves and goes in the back of the restaurant before I can ask for the menu again. He then comes back out after 5mins, we wave him down for the menu and he's like "oh that's right, I forgot." At this point it's 30mins from closing and they make an announcement for last call for sushi rolls. We got there with a hour and 45mins before closing. I was able to get back two orders from the all you can eat menu, with two items I ordered from the first go around that came out right before the second order came to our table. Talk about about limiting how much you can eat from the ALL YOU CAN EAT menu lol. I'll definitely give them another chance because the sushi was actually really good. So go early and order everything you want on the first order, and keep asking them on the status of the food lol. That will make the experience almost close to regular.

The gyoza and sushi were good enough but nothing outstanding. The lunch chicken hibachi was completely flavorless and disappointing. Everything needed more flavor.

This place has improved. May be its new owners or staff. The last time I went here was about a year and a half ago. I was there before, that incident. And swore I wouldn't go back. The 'service' terrible and excruciatingly slow. An hour to get a bowl of soup?! And they weren't busy. But, I wasn't driving, this time. It's still pretty slow getting the food to the table. So bad you may have forgotten what you ordered. The miso soup was insipid and with a few tiny cubes of tofu and nori. If you've ever reconstituted dried seaweed it really expands. I can only think this was nori dust. The pork Tonkatsu it was edible, but very dry. The Tonkatsu sauce was too sweet and didn't help the food's moistness, since there was none to begin with. It's not the only Japanese restaurant around. If they don't improve service and buy a Japanese cook book, it may not be around much longer.

Ah, good ole Sushi Village. Located just outside of the town of Hopewell this is our go to spot for all you can eat sushi. Their menu has a lot more to offer other than just rolls, consisting of hot apps, soups and desert. I really enjoy this place, but I cannot give it the 4 stars it deserves for its food. The issue i have is that your tips do NOT go to the server. This bothers me so much. On a few occasions the waiter and waitress told us they do not get tips working there and that the tip money goes to the owners instead. This is so uncool, and has forced us to tip our servers directly into their hand with cash. I do not support this at all, and although I do enjoy the food here I do not like how staff is treated. Overall you will enjoy the food here, location is clean and food comes out very fast. Save some room for desert because they have the best ice cream here (coconut is my fav flavor).

The restaurant wasnt especially busy but it seems that they were dealing with delivery orders and had little time for the restaurant patrons. We asked about one of the dishes as my friend is allergic to gluten. The waitress was very bothered by our question. The food was good. But the service was terrible. Much more refreshing than my usual Coke. Ordered the shrimp teriyaki bento, comes with miso soup or salad. My friend had the sushi/sashimi lunch. The soup was good and the salad well drained. Most places don't bother using a salad spinner; the dressing gets watered down. =( The shrimp were cooked to perfection. Not curled up little hockey pucks. The Vegetables were al dente, not close to baby food mush. Her sushi/sashimi meal was tasty. The proteins were fresh, no fishy smell. The prices won't break the bank. Speaking of the Bank; you can use Chase's Wi-Fi. The decor is low-key and sort of romantic. They were high chairs. We made a good choice today.

Beautiful night out in Hudson Valley and parked right in front. Beautiful looking restaurant with one person eating at the bar and four tables eating inside. The menu looks solid. Both of them actually because FtT has a seasonal menu AND a full length daily menu (that's a lot of food and skill...think they can pull it off?). Once we put in orders, and inform our server it's a birthday celebration. Every further interaction with my server starts with "I'm sorry but..." - drinks come out two by two and one by one because the bartender is busy - apps come out an HOUR later (this place is half dead) because "the kitchen never got it" - the first bottle of wine I order is unavailable. As is the second. The third bottle of nice white wine comes out along with a glass of ice (??) because the bottle was never refrigerated and, I guess we are supposed to put ice cubes in our wine?? "I'm sorry but no one put wine in the refrigerator." I tell her to bring me what they have that is cold and I'll pick... - the entrees come out and you know you have chosen poorly. The lobster roll was almost frozen lobster on a soggy piece of Wonder bread, both people who got muscles got four deep, spit half of them out and were advised by us NOT TO EAT anymore. That nuked the seafood soup which had a funny smell after a few bites. My lump crab pasta had a pound of cheese on the top rendering all crab into globs of parm. - after inspecting the table not pleased and kind of picking at their food or not eating it at all, our waitress apologizes yet again...and gives me the full check. - no dessert here, or complimentary dessert (not offered), we all basically escaped...and $500 lighter
