Love this place! The all you can eat option is wonderful. I have been to many AYCE establishments and it's very rare that they offer fried rice but this place does which I love. The sushi is great- definitely recommend the snow mountain roll. It's probably the best sushi combo I ever had. The service is kind of slow, however, I never am in a rush when I eat here. They take a little longer than other places but I think they pace you well. You can also order ice cream at the end which tops it all off. Sushi Village is my favorite all you can eat sushi restaurant. The food is extremely fresh and delicious and the price is very reasonable. The service is great! The timing of the delivery of soup, salad, sushi is right on target. I was so glad when they opened this 2nd location in Fishkill because my husband and I use to travel 50 minutes to their Poughkeepsie location. They have all you can eat sushi for around twenty dollars. I did not opt for that. I ordered a maki combination "B" which was one spicy tuna roll, one spicy salmon roll , and one Eel Avocado roll. The entire thing cost me $15.19 including tax. The place was real nice. There was about six booths on either wall and about 12 tables in the center. Everything was a nice hardwood including the paneling on the walls. It started with a nice house salad with an orangey dressing. The rolls seemed good and fresh. The staff was nice and it was quick. I've been to this place quite a few times to take advantage of their all you can eat sushi lunch/dinner special. More often than not, the food is absolutely phenomenal and the service is up to par as well. However, I went today for dinner with my boyfriend and we were less than satisfied. We opted to do the all you can eat dinner special (as per usual) and got a round of drinks to compliment our meal. At first, everything was great- got some appetizers, a few rolls, and everything was okay. After our first round, our waitress began to mess up our order and get a bit of an attitude; nonetheless, we ordered more. Apparently they wanted us to leave because our order couldn't be more butchered even if we tried. The sushi platters were no longer finished with ginger and wasabi, and our requests for spicy mayo were getting ignored. In spite of this, we asked for the bill and left. Despite our past satisfactions with the food and service, I don't think we will be going back there any time soon. read more

I called the place to ask about their prices as the branch in Poughkeepsie was 28.95 for the open buffet and a lady claiming to be the manager picked up the phone and said it's 31.95 on the weekday. when I inquired as to why if they're the same company, she said because we attract "better people" and "better quality". Have been there at least 10 times over the last 2 years,always good. I try to go during the week around 6. All You Can Eat is what I have always gone for and the AYCE menu is extensive. You fill out the paperwork, they take it, prepare it then you get served. So it's best to be there with the least amount of customers. Never any hassles, food is always fresh and very tasty. I'm no Sushi aficinado but have eaten enough sushi & Sashimi to know what's good or bad. About $25 per person not including saki etc. The only other place I go to on a semi regular basis is Plum House in Monroe,NY. We have given this establishment many opportunities (too many) to redeem themselves. We have always gone for the all you can eat sushi. The quality of the sushi itself has typically been fair overall except for recently. Lately our chief complaint has been the wait time. We are very patient and understanding people especially when it comes to quality food. The last 3 times we were here we had 2 plates of sushi and it took 2 1/2 hours to get out. The wait is out of control and not reasonable. The service is super slow and the owner is extremely unfriendly and borderline nasty. The owners demeanor is enough to turn me off. We haven't had a major issue with the quality of the sushi with the exception of one time. I ordered a spider roll which is one I order every time, and it tasted like it was bad and had a awful taste to it. Overall unless you have 2 1/2 to 3 hours to kill for 2 plates of fair sushi served by unfriendly and inefficient servers select another sushi establishment. read more

Last night my gf and I decided that we wanted to give a new sushi spot a try, and decided on Sushi Village after glowing reviews from a large number of our friends. When you go to an all you can eat sushi place, you know you're going in for what I affectionately call, "Utility Sushi", not gourmet level, but not gas-station quality either, this I hope shows that I'm basing this off of a realistic expectation of what you should be getting at a flat rated all you can eat sushi restaurant. When we arrived at Sushi Village, we were quickly and politely seated and given our menus to select our items for our order, our drink order was taken, and then the wait began. After 15 minutes of waiting, we finally had to walk up to the sushi bar and hand in our order our self. Our first order consisted of gyoza, shumai, and two pieces of shrimp tempura. 20 mins after placing the order, these items arrived piled on a tiny plate, and ice cold, as if they had been sitting waiting to be picked up for 20 mins. The service was receptive to heating these items up again, but when they arrived after (what I can assume was a trip in the microwave) they were rock solid, and honestly, inedible. When the platter of sushi arrived, it was a jarring exhibit of poorly prepared, and pungent sushi. We had ordered 2 pieces of tuna, 2 yellowtail, and 1 mackerel, 1 tomago all Nigiri style and my gf had ordered a chefs roll which arrived looking like a deep-fried nori burrito (of which the menu did not specify as deep-fried). After eating one bite of the Tuna, it hit me. There was something really off about this sushi. The taste was really off, and there was a bit of a smell to the fish on our platter, both of which made me feel really uncomfortable proceeding any further in to this already disappointing meal. Before proceeding any further, we spoke with the wait staff (the woman seemed to be a manager of some sort) and to her credit, after a brief explanation of our concerns, she brought us our check (for our drinks only, not the $25 per person fee) which we happily paid. This was my first(and last) time here. It took 10 minutes to get our order taken, the waitress was very curt almost rude. I asked for lemon water, 10 minutes later, I got a half filled glass of water. My daughter ordered a sprite, which arrived 15 minutes after her cup of ice and miso soup. We placed the initial order and finished it, asking for additional order sheets and napkins. The waitress returned with napkins five minutes later and when I asked for the order sheet, again, she replied "when you finished...". My daughter was not finished with her order, but I was.... and I figured it will take forever, order now. We arrived at 12:55 and we didn't start getting our drinks until 1:27, we were there until 2:25....we left very disappointed. Our sushi was adequate, not really cold and the avocado tasted weird, almost pine-like. The red tuna sashimi was ok size wise, but again warm. Our best food choice was the sweet potato tempura in roll form or as tempura. Actually, the tempura was good. We saw customers have to go get the waitress and give her their order. We saw the waitress go back to the sushi bar and ignore all the tables. She never came to see if any of the tables needed things, never acknowledged customers once she got orders. One customer had to reminder her 2 times he ordered a soda. When we were done and cleaning up our dishes, she said..."done, good, the bill..." that was all. No thank you, no anything else.... I've been here about 4 times for all you can eat sushi and my husband as been more times than he can count. The sushi is pretty good and you really can't beat the price for the all you can eat. My only complaint here is about the service. Each time I was here we never received everything we checked off on the card for the all you can eat. One time we told the server what was missing and she said "oh okay, are you gonna eat it ? Are you sure?"... Also, they take FOREVER to serve the food and the ladies there do seem like they don't want to be bothered. Like another reviewer said- you'll see them sitting at their own table eating and playing on their phones/iPads. It's true if you want something you'll have to either get up or yell across the room. After a long and anticipated AYCE sushi night, it finally came! We were a party of 11 (9 did the $25 AYCE and 2 did the regular menu). At the beginning, the menu was a little bit difficult to understand but our waitress explained it very well. For those of us who did the all you can eat, we had to place the order as a group. My advice to you is start off by ordering a small amount of food at a time. When they bring you the platter of sushi you ordered, they will also bring you another sushi menu for you to fill out for the next round. You can always order more the next round, as you don't want to order more than what you can eat or you will have to pay extra. The sushi was fresh and the pieces were a decent size. As an appetizer I had the seafood soup and it had a very flavorful broth. I also recommend the crispy calamari, the pieces were large and delicious! The sashimi pieces were very fresh and I especially enjoyed the red snapper! Under the Special Rolls I recommend you try the Love Dragon. Over all the food was good and the service was ok, our waitress was very attentive. Be sure to factor in the wait time depending on your group size. Since 9 of us were doing the all you can eat, it took them some time to bring our order. However at the end of the night we had an incident with a woman whom appeared to be the manager or owner. When we received the bill, we started getting our money together at the table and then the waitress came and said we can get up and pay individually at the register. We though this would be easier since we were a big group. Little did we know what was about to happen!! We made the line to pay, and one by one we all paid, singles and couples. Imagine all 11 of us crowding the register area. When she was up to the last person, the woman whom appeared to be the manager or owner, accused us of not paying her the full amount. She insisted one of us did not pay her and said we owed her $60 dollars!!! That made made no sense!!! How could one person owe $60 dollars when the all you can eat sushi bar is only $25!?!?! So there you had us!! Showing her the receipts of those who paid with card and explaining who paid with cash. Conveniently so, she did not provide those of us who paid with cash with a receipt! She had us there for sometime until someone in our group mentioned she should check the balance at the register and add up the total we paid her. I believe this was all a SCHEME!!! I believe she wanted to charge us more and take advantage of us since we were a big group and it would be easy for her to point her finger at all of us. If she really believed her accusation, why did she not check her security cameras? This was very unprofessional!!! Beware of this!!! I was craving some sushi and Sushi Village happened to be near by. I ordered takeout and got 3 rolls, philly, salmon/avocado, and crunchy spicy white tuna (my signature sushi takeout meal). I can't say much about eating at the restaurant (atmosphere, service, and whatnot) but the sushi takeout was pretty good! I liked how they didn't use too much rice and they didn't skimp out on fish. Started coming here about a month ago and have returned once a week. Last week however, I had very hot soup poured all over me by the waitress. It was an accident but that doesn't discount it thoroughly burned and left me soaked smelling like wonton. The waitress said she was sorry but didn't even clean it up. We always get the all you can eat and it's delicious. Never ordered off there regular menu so can't help you there but the food is always great. They give a good size piece of sushi especially for an all you can eat. I've noticed other places make really crappy small pieces for all you can eat but not this place. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We were a party of 5 and from the time we ordered our food to the time we got a PORTION of our food brought out was 2 hours. The service is terrible, we had to ask for menus, drinks, for them to take our order and everything else that should come with proper service. The waiters here pick and choose which tables they will be attentive to, even though the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Three other tables were almost finished eating their meals, before we even got to smell food. Not only are they rude, but they do not know how to practice correct proper customer service. Then two hours after ordering, they decide to tell us they are out of half of the food that we ordered. Then some of the other food comes out cold, hard and disgusting. I love going to sushi village! Food is fresh and tastes amazing. However, it's not always the best experience. Service at both Fishkill and Poughkeepsie locations is absolutely horrible. Doesn't seem to change each time I go. Waitress is always on her phone, not paying attention to customers and their orders. Just today I watched our waitress walk over to another table and ask them if they ordered our food and they said no and she said oh, well would you like it anyways and gave it to them. Will never go back to this place. Its a shame because its local and close to the house. I went tonight with my wife and my two children, 12 and 9. We opted for the buffet, but when we arrived we didn't see a buffet. The waitress told us to order by writing on these pads and they will get the food. when you want something else you need to ask for the pad again and write what you want and they will get the food, very weird but O.K. We ordered but everything to so long to come, I think due to the fact only one waitress was working. The waitress was running crazy and messing up, we didn't get several things we ordered. Serving sizes were very small when we question the size of the servings she (waitress) replied you can order more, but who would, took 20 minutes to get rice. When the bill came they charged the kids the adult rate, when we questioned this they asked "how old are the kids", I answered 12 and 9 and she replied " Oh i'm sorry 9 years old is considered an adult. I actually laughed thinking she was kidding, she wasn't. Well I would never return to this restaurant again. and the food wasn't even that good. I read their advertisement which read Adults $21.00 and Kids $10.95. It's a shame to lose business over ripping people off.
