For a busy mama as myself, I'm thankful for curbside pick ups. Although convenient there are items that aren't in stores or they can't find a substitute for it. When I purchased regular white bread, I do however find it hard to believe there's zero brand of white bread in the store. I've used store pick up twice this week, the first time I waited over 15 mins outside using their text messaging communication system. I ended up calling the store to get the order. This place is sporadic to say the least. One day everything is working smoothly the next it's a catastrophe. I had to return something today, nothing wrong with it. It was never opened, Just something I won't need. I had the receipt, and nothing was altered. So WTBFD! If I didn't have so many other things to do this afternoon, I would've taken the extra time to complain to the manager on duty. I don't need attitude or agita. Hannaford's and Adams aren't too far away. The service agent loudly perseverated on how people shouldn't be allowed to return things. REALLY! This is a fine place to dash in for coffee pods. Instacart doesn't really work with this shop, charging higher prices then at store. The shop, not clean, yet not dirty. Avoid bust time or late hours , as staff makes it clear they want to go home early. If you went to John Jay, abd the recognize you, maybe a pleasant experience. If you want higher quality food, try Hannefotds, Adam's. Walmart is nasty, but delivery free , always in stock, no last minute cancellation by stores like Shop rite. read more

The aisles look a bit neater, but they still can't keep up with stocking - huge carts in front of shelves that prevent access. Prices are higher than ever, so I find myself shopping less and less here. Now, frozen food section no longer carries the brands of frozen seafood that I liked to keep in stock. Pier 33 mussels is one example. Almost all products are switched to Bowl and Basket, as it is throughout the store. I don't like this brand - I have food allergies and have to eat things that are non-GMO, no corn syrup or artificial additives and chemicals. Planning on stocking up with wild caught frozen fish - nowhere to be found!! I saw them in the cases the previous week, I should have grabbed them. All switched to Bowl and Basket. I'll have to order this from Instacart, rather than in person shopping. Adams is great, but pricier. I was also looking for lamb chops. There were some bony chunks for stew, and thin, fatty chops (Shop Rite brand), so I decided to get a few of the chops. Cooked at home for family; almost inedible, tough. I threw out the rest. I cannot buy milk here anymore - I prefer organic, but occasionally choose a quart or a 1/2 gallon of SR brand. They stopped stocking quarts of milk - only ones available are Bowl and Basket. The 1/2 gallons are so ridiculously priced that we no longer pick it up at SR. We go to gas stations, and Walmart. We stopped buying SR turkeys for the holidays because they are low quality, and we don't shop there enough to gain "points" for a free turkey. read more

Mediocre supermarket with a mediocre selection. The produce section is lacking. For instance, I have tried looking for more than one variation of cabbage and that was a fail. Another instance, I was simply looking for onions and the entire bin was rotten. I have a child with a peanut allergy so I have to get almond butter. However, almond butter could contain traces of peanut if you read the labels. I searched high and low and could not find any almond butter brand that did not contain traces of peanut butter. I then resorted to a $10 jar of sunflower butter. That's really overpriced. The supermarket is OK. Nothing spectacular but not terrible. read more

I was in there on 7/3/24 to pick up some water. As I got to the checkout line I was very nice to the cashier as she rang me up. I paid with my card and as I was leaving I said thank you have a nice day. I don't need the receipt. She said I have to take because of policy I explained that I don't want it. She called me a fucking asshole. I Finally got the manager who said he would go right there to talk to her. About 10 minutes later he told me to wait here while here while he talked to here as he continued to walk around. About another 10 or 15 minutes later he said to me what are you waiting for? I told him I was waiting for a resolution. He then told me he wasn't going to take care of it now and was very rude and dismissive. He never offered an apology and had me standing around waiting for about 20 minutes. I called the home office and they told me they would look into it and get back to me and agreed that I don't have to take the receipt if I didn't want to. read more

Went to Shop Rite today to fill the needs of dinner on the fly. It was less busy than usual, so not having a crowd as I walked through the door was great. (I attribute the nasty weather to the lack of shoppers) Being in a rush I figured I hot the jackpot. As I began to shop I found I had to jockey past many employees either stocking shelves or chit chatting with eachother. I was only greeted by one employee as I navigated around all the worker bees, and none of them seemed especially concerned that I get by them without difficulty. As I roamed I did have to ask an employee (who was stocking a massive amount of paper towels and effectively leaving shoppers about 18 inches to squeeze by) where an item was. He was not nasty, nor was he friendly, but he did know the exact location of said item, so that was cool. I then collected said item and made my way to the checkout. What a pleasant surprise! They had a lane with only 1 person ahead of me. This store is notorious for having long lines and few registers open. But today, luck be with me. (Again, thenk you Mother Nature for keeping the old bittys home) I checked out with an extremely pleasant woman who actually earned this store the 3rd star. She was pleasant and efficient. I wonder if she noticed the two other employees right beside us talking away with eachother while I bagged my own groceries? Who knows... I laugh looking at some of the reviews.99% of the world's people would give anything to have a store like this.Is it perfect? Nothing is. But not too far off.It's crowded and that's the only thing that puts me off. As to the bathroom.Personally, I have never used it but unless there were someone in there every moment,there's no way to always control the pigs who use public toilets and clean up after them. There is no regular coffee creamer (solid or dairy), cherry yogurt, whipped cream, tomato sauce, or small mashed cauliflower. Avoid this location if you need to avoid sugar and starch. I thought when Shoprite Fishkill got express checkout you could get out of this store quicker. Wrong. The checkout system is one of the worst I've ever used. It's a corporate Shoprite thing. You need to put everything on the weight-sensitive platform or it stops, period. If something slips onto the platform as you're scanning it and placing it on the platform it stops. Compared to other major supermarket chains, it's not only slower, it's not intuitive to use. At any given time when you're using the check-out, you can see multiple red lights on check-outs indicating an issue. read more

Reading the reviews and I think people are just complaining without knowing what they have. I have lived in several states and towns over time. This ShopeRite has an amazing selection of products including gluten free, organic and importations. The staff is friendly. They did a fantastic job at adapting the store and check out lines for COVID to maintain fluidity in the shop. We all need to adapt a little and stop complaining about things not being how they were before COVID. read more

ShopRite has the items that you need at decent prices. The parking lot can be a bit of a cluster****, and there is barely any room to load your basket up when checking out, but there are some friendly folks employed there and there are always some pretty solid deals. ShopRite used to be my go to grocery store but now because of the uncleanliness of the deli I don't go there as often as I used to go. The front end of this store seems like the local hangout for teenagers, and the front end manager is rarely to be found (also run by teenagers). Had a few rude encounters which was addressed to the manager at the time (Seth) whom was a real a-hole and could care less, so I ended up saying something really snotty to one of them and they didn't like it too much. If you want to have the local arcade or mall experience, check out at the front end of Fishkill and experience teenage employees doing whatever they please apparently, including being rude or just hanging out period. OK, so I call this ShopRite location looking for a particular item, I am told they have them in. I drive from Lake Carmel to Fishkill. I could not locate the item I was looking for so one of the associates tells me to go to customer service. Customer service pages the kid working the department. He doesn't answer. Pages again, he comes walking by with food stating he is on break. I asked is there anyone else in that department? Both the customer service person and the kid working that department stated "so and so would have no clue". Is there anyone else that can help me? No no one else. The kid on his break says, oh I just started my break, so sorry I can't help you. No offer to call a manager or to get someone else to assist. So I just called the store and spoke to the manager Tom. What I got from him is he basically didn't give a crap and actually blamed me for not asking for a manager. Really? Terrible customer service ALL the way around. read more

Great store. We buy most of our groceries there. Only thing I wish they would do is leave more clear room in the aisles. On busy days, most Wednesdays, it's extremely crowded and if extra stuff is in the aisles it's very frustrating. Just making a suggestion.
