    Mediocre Salad

Quaint spot; feels cold upon entry. Spacious seating - a big plus. Friendly staff, attentive. The restaurant looked clean. Ordered a couple lunch specials. Food came VERY fast. I had a Bento Box, my date some sushi. The soup was NOT good. It tasted off. I had Miso soup not too long ago and it was 100x better. The salad was not to my liking - I prefer a spring mix. The dressing was tasty though. The Teriyaki Salmon was yummy - I was impressed with it. The pork dumplings were also very good, but no sauce? My major complaint were 2 types of the sushi were overly mushy. I've never had mushy sushi before and although it tasted good the texture was a bit suspect. Overall a pleasant experience, but certainly not enough to have me waiting to go back...

Wanted to try here since I been to bonsai 1 & 2. I noticed its bit understaffed here, but considering most I saw get takeout I get it. My sever was really a star here, holding down the front for to go orders, severing people eating in and actually making the sushi rolls as well. Plus he kept a simile and was very friendly, with ensuring you liked the food. Both the valentines and pepper tuna avocado rolls were great and super fresh, despite having to move around a lot he made the rolls with quality.

Food was excellent! Service was wonderful, the food came out quick (5-10 minutes). The waitress/hostess was working super hard to get the to-go orders to everyone waiting and taking calls. Shout out to her! Two other workers made sushi. The atmosphere was calm and it had a sea theme with shells on walls. I liked it very much. I ordered the bento box that included: miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, cali roll and a teriyaki roll. You can select 2 other options and you there's plenty to choose from! I chose the salmon teriyaki and the spicy tuna roll. I also ordered gyoza as appetizers and a bubble tea. Miso soup: super simple and delicious Salad: simple as well and the dressing was light California roll and spicy tuna roll: very good, though not spicy. The tuna roll had a nice crunch which was great. Teriyaki roll: my favorite, super crunchy with salmon (I think) inside and sauce on top! So good! Salmon teriyaki: not over cooked with delightful sauce with some grilled onions, carrots, broccoli and shredded zucchini Gyoza: a bit smaller than what I expected but it satisfied my cravings! Bubble tea: my least favorite, not the best one I've had. A bit bland but the pearls were chewy so that's good. Totally recommend and would go again!

Food is amazing! I always order the dinner bento box and they never disappoint. Waitress is quick and my food arrives quite fast. The seashell decorations are stunning! I've been here multiple times already leaving full and happy. Great place.

We've been consistent patrons of their Bonsai 2 for many years but this is so much closer. We hoped it would be just as good & it did not disappoint! The "Jury is still out on the decor" (lol) but it's clean & very cheery. My brother & I elected to sit at the sushi bar. We were greeted warmly by a couple who are husband & wife (waitress & sushi chef). They didn't have their liquor license yet but welcomed BYOB. Everything we ordered was fresh, plentiful & tasty. The Chef even created a special appetizer of oysters he asked us to evaluated as a future special. I'm not fond of oysters but my brother is and devoured them! We meant to snap a picture but when we didn't the chef made up 2 more & my brother got the picture to post & another welcomed tasty treat!

THIS MADE MY NIGHT! I ordered the green curry with tofu which was so yummy, flavorful and comforting as well as the spring rolls. Loved the sauce! For dessert I got the mango with sweet coconut sticky rice which was INCREDIBLE. This is absolutely worth it. It's so light, sweet and delicious. Great service and friendly staff at this Sri Lankan restaurant…read more The manager/owner used to be a chef at the UN after traveling the world for various stints after leaving Sri Lanka at age 25. He will fill you with his wealth of knowledge of Sri Lankan food as well as how his food is pure and wholesome. Food was very good. I had Sri Lankan rice entree specialty dish. Except for the the shrimp tasting like dried shrimp - which I hate with a passion the rest of the dish was pretty good. No complaints from my other guests who enjoyed their meals. The dessert was great. They have both vegetarian (including goat, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, and chicken) and non-vegetarian options. It fell short of five stars for two reasons: 1. the dried shrimp or dried fish taste in the dish (shimp, calamari, and chicken); and 2. the moderately high prices (I can only compare to prices at Indian restaurants in the city, and what people are typically paying for the same portion size at casual sit down restaurants) Since we don't frequent this location often it is a treat to stop by every once in awhile and introduce my friends to it. If you are on a budget and consume large volumes of food to be full, this is most likely a one off or a place you may want to skip. Otherwise, enjoy it. On premise parking lot and seems ADA compliant. It looks like it is in a house, but inside it is comfortable and casual. It appears there is allot more local customers than visitors from out of town. The interior plays tourist information on Sri Lanka while the interior is also decorated in culturally appropriate ascents. We were there on a Saturday for dinner and the space was fairly empty - perhaps two other tables occupied. It is in sort of a remote area outside the main drag of Beacon most are familiar with (not within reasonable walking distance). It's worth a try, especially if you are interested in healthier forms of food (ingredients).

The duck drunken noodles were cooked perfectly and there was a good duck to noodle ratio, but not really spicy. The ambiance is very modern and colorful, with brightly colored walls and murals and really nice family photos and thai decorations up making it authentically thai-american. My favorite dishes here are the guay chai appetizers-- which are fried, deeply savory and chewy-- and their pad see ew which has a umami, wok hei flavor and a silky texture on the rice noodles. My only note is that sometimes the rice noodles come pretty broken up in pieces from the stir fry. Their red curry and pad Thai are also great, very flavorful with a fair portion. I appreciate how now they give you a spice rack to self-customize your spice level instead of relying on the kitchen. I only recently realized how GOOD their drinks are too. By far the best matcha lattes in Putnam county, as a matcha lover I like how you can really taste the matcha rather than just the milk. Their cocktails during golden hour are also amazing, and extremely creative. They also host events like trivia nights and open mics that I would love to attend one day. My aunt, who is handicapped and has Down syndrome, needed to use the restroom, but the waitress told them they couldn't use it. They had to walk all the way to Dunkin' Donuts instead, which was frustrating and honestly embarrassing. When my dad and I finally came in, the waitress asked if it was for two, and I said no, for four. When my mom and aunt returned, it felt awkward knowing the restaurant had a restroom but didn't allow them to use it. That was very rude and disappointing. We did have a male server who was kind, and the food itself was good, so credit to the chef. However, after we finished eating, no one checked on us. I had to go up to the counter to pay, and no one asked if we needed a to-go box--I ended up getting one myself and packing my own food. It was decorated to the brim, but it felt like I was still in an old storefront in Poughkeepsie. With that being said, this was a decent option for Vietnamese food. I had the Pho, which had a delectable salty broth. The beef was also juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately, the sides - limes, basil, bean sprouts - were a little old. The noodles were also soggy. Perhaps it a style of pho that I'm not accustomed to, but it wasn't for me. Finally, I wished the Pho came out much hotter. I would certainly come back to try the other dishes, but will be trying other Pho spots when the cravings hit.
