I'm baffled by the bad reviews I see here. I used to come here often prior to my daughters being born, nine years ago. We came back tonight, and the food was still delicious. My wife ordered the tuna poke dish and the fish was literally spoiled. I tried to take a taste myself and the smell knocked my head back. This dish should never have left the kitchen. To add insult to injury, the idiot manager felt the need to come back and argue that it wasn't spoiled, that it had been fresh the day before and that they had just eaten it themselves. She was lying. Spoiled fish isn't subtle and isn't a matter of opinion. Her attitude turned a bad meal into a bad review on Yelp (they did take it off the bill). We went on a Saturday night at 7:15 and the restaurant was half full which should have been a warning sign. I selected this place because I like the farm to table concept and because they had scallops as an appetizer and beef Wellington on the specials menu and that is what I ordered. The scallops were disappointing vey small and few but the Wellington was inedible just how you screw up a filet is beyond me. My wife's salmon was fine but on the small side especially when compared to the woman on the next table which was about twice the size of my wife's. this was my second time here. I had no complaints my first visit. But IDK tonight was odd. First of all there was maybe three table total eating and service was fine. But the food was just OFF. I had a salad w shrimp and my friend had a scallop app and Beet Salad. She ultimately returned the scallop app and the waiter did remove it from the bill. Our dessert tatsed like fish or what I expected a dirty dishrag would taste like. I did not complain bc I felt bad we already returned the scallops. Wow, we were very disappointed during this visit. They only had one waiter working and one bartender. Mostly we felt very sorry for the waiter as he was inundated with have to serve all the tables along with the high tops near the bar. The food was mediocre and Luke warm. Beautiful restaurant, great service, drinks were so delicious. Food had great concept just was missing something. I mean not missing enough for me to stay away as I will definitely be back. But it was lacking a bit but as I said I can't quite put my finger on it. My seafood stew needed a pop of flavor it was a bit bland for such a hearty and let me tell you loaded stew. Price was reasonable and it's a great spot for a date night or girls night out! They even have outdoor seating. We forgot to take a picture of our drinks and the Gambas Al Ajillo which was soooo good but we were starving so as an app it got taken down quicker than I could get my phone out lol. read more

Okay, let's get the obvious out of the way: yes, there is some snarky signage in the bar when you walk into the restaurant. Yes, it is off-putting and borderline inhospitable. I'm not sure why it's there but it's not my restaurant. I made a reservation for 12:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, and we were sat immediately upon arrival The signage documented in other reviews didn't annoy me as much as others likely because I didn't really have to stare at it for any length of time. I can imagine that if you're waiting for a table on a Friday night, it doesn't do anyone any favors. Like it or hate it, there it is. Now onto the real review: I loved this place. I loved the ambiance in the dining room, I loved the food, I thought the service was strong, prompt, and accurate. Everything I ordered, I was delicious. The food was fresh and well made, exactly what you want from an independent restaurant in a local town. What I really liked is that we were able to relax and enjoy a nice visit with family without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. I would definitely go back again, with a reservation, and ideally in the cooler weather so I can sit outside. read more

Freezer to table is more apt. Jumbo shrimps were clearly frozen. Broccoli was overcooked. Dishes were overpriced. And to add insult to injury, this place has a political agenda (see pics). Dined at F to T on 8/14/25. Upon receiving my entree, I found a string of hair in my food. Alerted the waitress, who offered me another serving of my original order. No apology was given. Received the second serving only to find that it was extremely salty...like the chef soaked the chop in a salt shaker! Continued on with our meal, thru cocktails and dessert. Upon receiving the check, discovered no compensation/refund or whatever for the inconvenience of finding hair in my food. So I proceeded inside to speak with the manager. Our waitress explained that if notified within 2 minutes, the restaurant is not responsible! Never heard of a 2 minute rule. Finally, the gentleman standing next to her who never identified himself as the manager, abruptly and rudely interjected "Well, what do you want?" He handed me a menu and said choose something off the dessert menu! Needless to say, I was not welcome in the establishment and definitely not worthy of their respect, consideration or kindness. I came here a few years ago & thought it was nothing to write home about, overpriced half decent food. I came again tonight for a birthday dinner & was admittedly hesitant after reading all the previous reviews, but I must say it wasn't a bad experience. The political signs & Yelp/credit card comments on the menu are obnoxious, but I knew this going in. We had to wait a minute as it was a slightly busy Saturday night, but one of the owners eventually approached us & was welcoming. We had a party of 8 people & ordered the blistered shishitos & 3 dozen oysters for the table. Both were delicious & came out fast (you can't really mess up raw oysters though). I had the pork schnitzel, per my friend's recommendation as she comes here often. It was good! Someone else has the filet special which looked great, another two had the salmon which looked pretty basic (you get a choice of sides, mashed/roasted potatoes and broccoli/string beans), & some others had the scallop special. They said it was ok but they wouldn't get it again. It took a long time for the mains to come out, & the birthday girl ordered a drink that never came (but we weren't charged). It was hard to get our waiter's attention & he didn't check in at all. I heard people complaining at the other end of the table that their second round of drinks were taking forever. Besides the slow service I'd actually dine here again, the ambience was nice & they have a great drink menu. It's a shame though that they don't value customer's opinions whatsoever, they're lucky they have a good following otherwise it wouldn't last. Dined here Christmas Eve for the first time. Loved everything about Farm to Table Bistro from the moment we were greeted, seated, and served. Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was excellent, friendly, and provided exceptional service always with a smile and professionalism. I tried escargot for the first time. It was tasty and well presented . All our meals were delicious and came promptly after appetizers. The atmosphere and decor were equally pleasurable. I look forward to dining here again. Update: Since posting this review I wanted to add that I was disappointed in the restaurant's obvious political "advertising". It's unfortunate that a public restaurant has to display slogans and opinions that will only continue to further divide our country. We will have to think twice before patronizing their restaurant again due to this. read more

Came here on a work dinner-- missed the wild political signs until I was walking out, so this review is based mostly on the food and service. I was shocked to see how bad just about everything was... for all the good farm to table restaurants in the Hudson Valley, not even the veggies tasted fresh here. The shrimp were clearly frozen and the chicken came out with a slice of cheese on top? Bizarre. All around not good. Service was really slow despite the restaurant being nearly empty. It's certainly a bold choice to get so political on the walls and not even have decent food or drink. I guess they'd like their legacy to be shoddily- hung (and designed) Libertarian prints rather than a good dining experience. Seems like much has changed here since their 2013 NYT review. read more

Pretty awful. I ordered the Sushi Grade Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl - I adore raw tuna often, as it is one of my favorites. HOWEVER, when I questioned the color (not pink), she said that was standard and assured me it was fresh, after I asked her again - and so I tasted it and it was rotten. I had my friend taste it and he was equally horrified, I mean, call the health department rotten. The server was lovely and brought me another one, even after I asked her not to - I had no appetite after this. No way would I ever trust this establishment again. I mean BAD SOUR RAW ROTTEN TUNA? PS... This has nothing to do with their politics. Though, had I seen the signs prior to walking in, I probably would have walked out. We have enough surrounding us in the world, we don't need it during a horrible dining (sick to your stomach) meal. I will say, my friend had the cod and he loved it. This was my first time dining here. It's in a strip mall; don't let that dissuade you. Had dinner with some friends. It is a pleasure dining here. The food is excellent, the plating has finesse, waitstaff courteous and attentive, without being pushy, the atmosphere is very inviting, almost romantic. There is a private covered seating area outside facing route 9, but except for some faint road noise you would never know it was there. They have a very good wine list and cocktails. There is a separate bar area. It's a grown-ups restaurant; no loud colors or noise; to distract you from enjoying a decent meal. It reminded me of places in the City (Manhattan), a bit upscale from the usual restaurants on route 9 and environs. Sort of a special occasion or date night place to go. We were a party of five and anyone who ordered a meal with a red wine vinaigrette per the menu got a lemon vinaigrette instead. Nothing was stated about the switch or why, we just assumed that they no longer had it as why would five meals that were supposed to have it, not have it? The bread and butter has a taste that stood out and was fantastic. The entrees were decent. They were not bad at all but they did not pop the way the menu made them sound. I have driven by this place many times but have never stopped in. A friend had a birthday party here and it was quite the experience and food fare to be enjoyed by all around the table. As the $$ show this is not a cheap eats sort of place, its more a nice date, family dinner, celebration spot with cloth napkins no paper here. Night started off with some wonderfully prepared drinks, then an appetizer of fried Calamari. It was crispy, hot and tasty only complaint if any was I WANTED MORE, but alas it was enough to stave off the hunger. Our waitress was super helpful and patient as I asked a million questions and she helped me narrow down my dish to the slow braised crispy pork shank! It came in a broth with veggies, it was EVERYTHING! It was salty, smokey, there were undertones of earthiness to it. Like I wanted the dish to not end. The broth turned into soup for me and I used bread to sop that up. Then to not be out done dessert was a Salted Caramel gelato and key lime pie. The pie crust was great, filling was mouth puckering tart with hint of sweet. The real star of the dessert was the gelato! Holy Cow was this creamy, salty and just the right balance of sweet. If we could of I think I'd of ordered a pint of it to go. The bill came and it was up there in price. All in all this experience was expensive, but delicious and had great ambiance. Farm to Table Bistro was our pick for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, and I'm glad we gave it a try! It's been hiding on my Yelp Bookmarked list for quite some time, and it was a natural choice when we were looking at what our Restaurant Week destination would be! The Restaurant Week menu featured an ample range of selections (a giant pretzel! Vegan cobbler!), and I was intrigued. So, off we went to Fishkill! The restaurant really does live up to its name. It has all the trappings of a cozy farmhouse, with a sophisticated bistro twist. Warm and romantic lighting sets the tone for a special evening in the dining room, which is flanked by bookshelves of vintage reads, and there's also a handsome wooden bar for more casual outings whilst enjoying a craft beer and burger (Tuesdays they offer a special!). Basically, there's something for everyone, and it's as ideal for a date night as it is for a fun group outing. We sat down at a cute little table right by the books (perfect, given that my boyfriend is an author!), and peeked at the menu, which was filled to the brim with yummy options. However, we were here for Restaurant Week, so I had to take my eyes off the stuffed pepper, and pick out my appetizer, entree, and dessert from a surprisingly large menu! Kudos to Farm to Table for offering a great amount of options! I started off with the Crispy Brussels Sprout Salad and my boyfriend went for the Instagram-friendly Hot Bavarian Pretzel, beautifully presented on a hanging metal structure. I snuck a bite, and really enjoyed the mustard it was served with. My salad was tasty, albeit a little too salty for me. I did appreciate the Parmesan cheese, which broke up the saltiness a bit, but I regretted that I didn't get the awesome pretzel for myself. Entrees consisted of Wild Salmon (boyfriend), and Buttermilk Corn Flake Chicken (me). Both were yummy, but I couldn't really taste the maple or soy in the salmon when I tried a bite of my boyfriend's dish, and my chicken was delish, but I missed the sweet note of the cornflakes I was hoping for to truly make it a sweet n' savory standout. I also ordered some Roasted Butternut Squash on the side, which was perfect on a cold November night! Saving a whole paragraph for dessert, though, since it was my favorite course! The Vegan Raspberry Cobbler that I ordered was AMAZING. It had a crumbly topping and a sweet filling, and was just the right size to keep it from becoming too cloying. I also ordered a side of Vanilla Gelato, which was a great accompaniment. My boyfriend's Flourless Chocolate Cake wasn't my fave, but he enjoyed it. I think I loved my cobbler so much that no other dessert could compare! It was my favorite part of the meal, and I would definitely go back for that alone. Service was friendly and prompt. We were practically the only customers in the restaurant on a Tuesday evening around 8:30 PM, but our attentive waitress kept the courses moving efficiently, and water glasses refilled. Since the restaurant owner is adamant that they don't read or respond to yelp, I'm writing this for you! We visited because we had a gift certificate--no other reason. The food was not particularly flavorful. My husband said his French Onion soup had no flavor at all, and is convinced is was frozen before it was served. My burrata salad was swimming in a vinegary dressing. The server didn't bring bread until we asked for it, but the bread was good. My daughter enjoyed her Beggar's Purse. My Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl relied heavily on the wasabi and other sauces for flavor. The server didn't clear all the dinner dishes before our dessert was served. The frosting on the red velvet cake seemed to have picked up an odor from being refrigerated. We think this place has potential but they haven't yet found their groove. read more
