    Philly Special Roll

Rolls and food were great. One of my favorite rolls is here... and maybe my all time favorite drink. Our server was great, very attentive and very quick. We like Sushi Zushi because they are fast and dependable. There are definitely higher end places, but this one is decent quality and you always know what you're getting. My one complaint is the inside of the restaurant is really deteriorating. They have not update anything at all since I was in high school.. over twenty years ago. Cushions are splitting and it is looking rough in there. When you are eating raw fish, it doesn't make you a little wary. It makes it harder to trust. Because we've been eating here forever, we are forgiving, but if I was a first timer, it would definitely put me off.

This place was amazing. One of our new favorite sushi places! Don't know why it has such low ratings but we enjoyed all the rolls and others that we ordered. Fish is fresh, tasted delicious! Didn't have to wait, went in and got seated. Spacious and appears clean. Server was attentive and got our food just as we liked it. We'll be back soon!

The rolls were really good but I didn't like the yakiudon, it was just too sweet and too salty. The sushi bento was alright, and the pepper tuna was pretty good. Our server was so nice and recommended rolls based on what we liked and they were all really good and what we were looking for. The inside is pretty spacious and looks a little worn down but clean.

A little clean up with some Clorox wipes wouldn't hurt.

It smells like sewage in the restaurant. It always smells like sewage. The Lincoln Heights and Stone Oak locations smell just fine.

We decided to come here on our way home. It was alright. I would not go out of my way to come here that's for sure. To start the place is full of fruit flies. Which means they are not cleaning in their bar area. So highly suggest not to buy any drinks. Secondly, I notified the staff that my daughter has a shellfish allergy. When she ordered I asked them to verify there was no shellfish in her order. The waitress said there was not and she will check with chef too. Then she brings our order out and places my daughters order in front of her with a Godzilla roll. I asked if that was hers, she said yes, then I asked what it was. None of us ordered it but it is hot and spicy with shellfish. So the customer service is subpar. Had to come back in and edit. As we left this establishment last night the servers and workers were rude. No customer service at all. They do not greet you when you walk in or when you leave. They cluster in a corner and chit chat. There are a lot better sushi places in San Antonio, I recommend to go there instead.

The food was great and affordable. Great service. I had a server named Antonio and he was super helpful with the menu and went above and beyond. This is definitely a go-to spot for delicious affordable dining.

I came back again to try this place out because the happy hour is great and we wanted to give them another shot... I think this will probably be the last time. The rolls were okay. We were maybe 1 of 4 groups in there and our rolls took about 35 minutes to come out. One of the servers knocked into my chair so hard I almost fell over and he did not say anything but awkwardly giggle and continue walking to his table. The sushi was fine. Our waiter was very nice though and that's probably what is saving me from giving less stars because he did try to make us feel catered to. Unfortunately, they did try to overcharge me at normal pricing and I didn't notice until I went home that even after telling him the price was wrong and needed adjusting, I was charged almost $25 additional. Wanted to love this place unfortunately, did not.

First time visiting Sushi Zushi. Picked up our order to go. We got the godzilla roll and the strawberry roll. Looooooved the godzilla but wouldn't get the strawberry again.

The sushi here is really good and well priced! The ambiance is also really cute and I've been here a few times already. I remember some of the cocktails being really good, some of them were a little strong. I got the salmon and dragon roll!

Well, let me start saying that this is not the first time I do a review on this restaurant, I come very often because the food is great and service too, well, most of the time. This time we got a lady and a trainee, which I don't have a problem with that, but he was very nervous and insecure, not a problem, it's understandable. What I didn't like was that when my friend realized her drink had Tajín on it (she doesn't like Tajín, I know, weird right? Hahaha) anyway, she realizes it comes with tajin and she calls the lady and tell her if she can please switch it and even apologizes for not noticing it in the menu, the lady changed her attitude, he was upset about having to return the drink, she tells the trainee to go and request a new one, he comes back with a "new" drink in less the 5 minutes, obviously they just poured it in a new glass, because you could see tajin floating in the drink. The food of course was great, we ordered Bill roll for her and I got Cristina roll (I really loved it) both are very fresh and citrusy, love that, she also got a seaweed salad, I didn't ask if it was good or not, so I can't tell you anything about it. We finished our meal and left. My point doing this review is because, definitely your waiter/waitress attitude is going to determine if you have a good or bad experience. If this would've been my first time coming, I wouldn't come back, the waitress attitude after the drink incident was not the best, she looked annoyed and bothered, very much upset. I'm glad I always get another lady there, I think her name is Erika, oh, she is the best, too bad she wasn't there that night.

We've had sushi zushi in the past at another location and loved it. This location was closer so we figured it should be about the same and boy were we wrong. Staff was okay, not the friendliest bunch. It seemed like they wanted to hang out at the bar on their phones more than they really wanted to be working. Our waitress suggested a bento box to my mom and then when she ordered it, she got told no because it was out of the time range.. then why offer it as a special? Food was meh. The noodles looked as though they'd be packed with flavor but they were surprisingly very bland. I feel like the portion was not worth the price at all. Meat was super tough, barely had any chicken, and the shrimp were so chewy. It was supposed to have ginger and garlic on it, which it did, but they took the pickled ginger they put next to the sushi roll and just threw three little pieces on top... that's not okay. My husbands cosimo roll was VERY oily. It was like they didn't let it sit or something because it was incredibly soggy and the oil took over the flavor of everything else. The spicy tuna roll was not a spicy tuna roll. I honestly think they just gave me the left over tuna from the poke bowl because I've never had a spicy tuna roll like this in my life. The other locations is definitely different. It wasn't spicy, no sauce, nothing. $9 is steep for sushi that looks worse than H‑E‑B sushi. Poke bowl was probably the best thing. Very flavorful thanks to the mango but once again, what a waste of money. Much better options elsewhere. We came here to celebrate and ended up leaving highly dissatisfied and sadly still hungry. I would not come here again.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

I was immediately annoyed because the music was very loud to me. That could have been due to the empty restaurant, the actual volume or my perception of the volume lol. I was really hoping for a more intimate vibe for conversation. The speakeasy lounge actually looked more like the vibe that I desired but I settled in and placed my order. I wanted some of the showier selections seen on IG, so I ordered the tuna tower and flaming Romeo & Juliet roll and a cute (albeit sweet) cocktail that came in a goldfish shaped glass. When the tuna tower arrived the young server asked me something several times which I couldn't hear over the music, so I just nodded. After she smashed the tuna tower, I figured out she was asking if I wanted it mixed. Lol my bad! I actually did not want it mixed but it was delicious anyway. The Romeo and Juliet roll took forever to stop flaming but once it died down, it was absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his roll as well and they gave him a complimentary birthday desert with sparklers. Overall I give service a 3. I would have liked a more professional presentation of the menu, hyping it up a bit. And a less soft spoken server. The food was a solid 5, everything was fresh and scrumptious. Overall I give Uni'ko 4 stars and I look forward to returning. I thought it was a good value given the extra razzle dazzle and food quality.

Could be a nice, intimate place for dinner though we were seated next to a pretty loud group. Service was fast and friendly, which was appreciated. The meal itself was decent, not great. Tried the masago and snow crab off the sushi menu; the former was good, but the latter strangely dry, as if it had sat out a little too long. An appetizer portion of the shrimp and vegetable tempura was very good. Particularly puzzling was the unagi roll. Not only did each piece of the roll fall apart, it was doused with so much eel sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Looking back on it, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Of note was the tempura banana dessert, which was a sort of Japanese take on a sundae! Putting crisp, hot chunks of fruit up against sweet vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (not berries as the menu claimed) was...well, interesting. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it is novel. Average it out and it's a decent place, though I would only come again if I was in the area for something else to begin with.
