Sarku's and I go way back. A good friend of mine and I used to visit the one at a mall in San Diego and we'd always leave full and happy. Now, this is a mall food court place, so don't expect any ambiance at all. However, the service is fast, the food's hot, and they do a nice (if inelegant) teriyaki plate. Definitely worth your dollar if you want something quick, relatively cheap, and delish. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. It is 517 on a Monday evening March 9. This reading is on SERVICE your gentleman, the chunky monkey hanging out the bags of food. I don't know if he's nonverbal or if he can't see but he needs to be dismissed of that duty especially since he's the last person, your customers are dealing with he is rude. He doesn't even acknowledge you even when he has looked straight into your eyes completely ignored you and when I asked for my order, he just pointed at it not a word not a peep, not even looked at me when I was talking to him completely rude. There's usually a lady that works that you need to get her back on this guy needs to be in the back of house or cleaning the dishes. He is not worthy of working or talking with your guest because he is gonna lose or give you bad ratings like he is right now this is solely on him and your judgment of putting him upfront because he is worth worthless. read more

I've been coming to this location of Sarku Japan for over 12 years, the food always has the same quality of goodness and freshness. If it's not extremely busy, the service is pretty quick and customer service is always on point. Ordered Sarku with DoorDash and it was so delicious!! I will say that I wish they had more options. There were really just 3 food options for chicken, steak and shrimp & 2 appetizers. I would have loved to add an egg roll or rangoons in. Other than that, the chicken teriyaki plate can never fail. If you're with someone you could plan to share if you're not both hungry. During lunch and dinner rush the value proposition isn't missed on the crowd so a line will build quickly but it moves at a decent pace. So I ask for a small cup of water like I used to: nope! Not even a little curtesy, tiny cup. You gotta buy your water bottled now for $3 or you don't drink! Either that or do as I did, went to a nearby, decent business that isn't run by such greedy, disgusting people. They used to be nice here. Now it seems as it went to their head, that their line is biggest. I don't think they think they need a certain level of customer service to retain their customers anymore. I don't care how tiny the cup they used to provide is, it was like 6 ounces. It's free: but it's always common practice to provide your customers with at least tap water, especially while you just spent $23 on 2 plates! But what happened at the end really took the cake. I was refused an extra plate? Good God, I know paper and plastic product isn't free; but how much does an extra plate cost? A couple of cents tops.
