Thankfully we received a military discount but even so this dinner for three was over $75. It just seems like a lot of money for this type of restaurant. While we are appreciative of the military discount, we still feel as if the pricing is a little exorbitant. The tastiest item in my opinion was the soba noodles. The fried rice just was plain and lacking. I stated earlier the beef just didn't taste like beef. The fried goyza was dry and crispy. I personally like my goyza steamed. The eggrolls were ok. For anyone want to know price I spent about $18.50 on one burrito. Mine was a bud extra because I added Serrano peppers. The atmosphere is clean and spacious if you don't come during a rush. The restrooms as well are well kept with a grounding atmosphere. The menu offers chef created options or build your own options for both the sushi burritos (maki-rritos) and the bowls. We ordered a OMG sushi burrito and a 3 salsas bowl, both which were scrumptious. The OMG sushi burrito is fried to perfection, the panko crust is something we thought about long after leaving while all the insides are perfectly balanced. When we read there was spicy crab in the mix we were hesitant about the spice level but it actually was not overwhelming & if anything complimented everything else going on inside the OMG sushi burrito. The 3 salsas bowl was also extremely delicious. All the components were also perfectly married; I think the only complaint I would have if any is getting the bowl open and then having room to mix everything so it's easier to enjoy all components of the dish in one perfect bite. Luckily the bowl has a dome that's supposed to be a lid and also doubles as a place to offload some of the insides and provide a great space to mix everything. We also enjoyed the edamame, kushiage, and cucumber salad, all of which were amazing. The kushiage is also breaded and fried to perfection with an alluring gooey center and mouthwatering sauce for dipping. The cucumber salad was tangy, refreshing, and perfectly temped (it's always a pleasure to enjoy cold cucumbers with lots of flavor vs room temp ones, just saying). The edamame was steamed well and not overly salty or too bland, great balance here as well. One thing I really loved is the sauces--they're right next to the drink station and are easily accessible so you can serve yourself eel sauce, spicy mayo, and 3 other sauces I can't remember right now. The eel sauce was perfect by the way; I loved how easy it was to pour over the sushi burrito and the sushi bowls. The drink selection here is also a nice touch. They've got water, ramune, Jarritos, soft drinks and more. I think it might be best if there's a bottle opener easily accessible for guests to open their drink--I didn't notice immediately because it was my first time & I was taking it all in but I had to walk back up to the counter to get my drink opened. I must note this is a new space still and I understand that service usually gets better with feedback and time. My only real complaint if any is customization. After we finished our meal I ordered another OMG burrito to go for my mom. She asked if she could add mangos and crispy fried onions. I was informed that the OMG burrito was already at capacity as far as fillings were concerned which I understood. It's a great portion and fits snugly into its designated container. When I asked if I could grab a side of crispy onions and mango on the side instead, the cashier asked the employees working on the line because she wasn't sure how to answer. There was a pause and chatter amongst the line and ultimately they nodded no. This I found kind of weird, not gonna lie. I was willing to pay for the additions and they wouldn't have gone inside the burrito... instead on the side. I didn't agree with the rationale but it was what it was. The positives of the visit were enough to bring us back. I hope next time there's more room for customization even if it does have to happen on the side of our maki-rrito.
