I was assured Dr Petrou could perform this testing and that I should plan for an hour to and hour and a half for our appt. The appt before us ran long, and so we were not seen until 45 min after our scheduled time. Upon giving background Dr. Petrou suggested we were there seeking a "second opinion" to my daughter's standard eye exam she had had earlier this year, rather than acknowledging our concerns as an escalation of care. She then explained that a more extensive examination would take about an hour which was not what was allotted for by the receptionist(s) scheduling but that she would proceed with a standard evaluation. I declined to point out at that moment that it felt like we were being rushed along to make up for her prior long appt. As it became clear through the exam that this was another standard Vision exam and not a Neuro-ophthalmologic evaluation I voiced my concern and was reassured in a somewhat condescending manner that this was a Neuro-visual evaluation. The gist was that my daughter should change lifestyle (sleep, hydration, diet) and hold her phone further away from her face (ignoring our indications that symptoms presented year-round when school-schedule was in place). She also made a snide comment about "Dr Google and AI diagnoses. The receptionists and Dr. should be aware of their areas of expertise and not take in business that is beyond the scope of their practice. We left very frustrated with our experience and have now booked an appt with a Dr. with the correct credentials, title, and testing capabilities. As for any future standard care, you can cross this office off our list of candidates. It seems, based on their ratings, that they do basic optometry very well, but they should know what is not in their wheelhouse too.

Insurance covers this place just as well as the corporate chains, who spend part of their overpricing on bait and switch advertising. I was diagnosed with a cataract in my right eye in spring by the corner eye glass shop and I wound up having cataracts in both eyes and completely blind by fall in one eye. My Dr and surgeon was Breanna N Aldred who did my cataract surgery. Surgery was easy and it didn't take very long, the prep took more the time. To my fu#king amazement my eye went from totally blind to seeing perfectly the next day after surgery and I was told that this is the first day and it's still going to improve with the healing process. I have never had a surgery let alone an eye surgery so it was a little nerve wracking but it was very easy with an excellent result. I would definitely recommend Dr Breanna N Aldred.

She is the most talented optometrist I have ever consulted with. She can give you advice on your general well being, just by examining your eyes. No one has ever done that with me, until her! She has given me better advice than any ophthalmologist I have consulted in the past! All of my family members and I have been patients of Dr. Nina Christensen for many years. We live closer to the Grafton Costco but when she moved to Pewaukee, we moved our files with her practice. She is as caring as she is talented and certainly, is worth the extra long drive to Pewaukee. Here is one example: I had dry eye problem - especially in winter months. I went to see two Ophthalmologists. One of them was considered to be a leading Ophthalmologist in town. Both of them told me to use artificial tears, daily. They both told me, I got it because I look at the computer too much, with insufficient blinking.. and I am thinking - "Duh! Blinking is subconscious! What am I to do.. remind my eyes to blink more often?". They were explaining the problem and not the solution! When I went to see Dr. Christensen for an eye exam, I mentioned my dry eyes problem to her casually, as a part of patient history. Immediately, she said - just drink a lot of water and you won't need the eye drops.. She was absolutely right.. I no longer need eye drops! Dr. Christen is so very talented that she is the only doctor who explained to me that she can notice indications of high blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes, while examining the eye! She explained that people with high blood pressure will have pronounced capillary veins. She is the most talented Ophthalmologist that I have ever met! Once you meet her, immediately, you will see that she is genuinely interested in your well being. She charges only $60 for eye glass exam.. In the past I had paid $200 for a ophthalmologist for an eye exam and he was no where as good as Dr. Chritensen! If you are older than 50, I would encourage you to go with a designated driver and plan for 2 hours of time, so that she can dilate your eyes (1 hour for dilation) and give you a thorough exam! When called back for my appointment the doctor was not very friendly and argued with me regarding an increase in my prescription. He suggested I get checked over by my general health doctor to make sure everything was functioning correctly, which wasn't a problem since I had a yearly wellness check coming up any way. However, all came back normal and my prescription had just gone up quite a bit. Needless to say this left me feeling confused, but I decided to order the contacts anyway. It's been a month since my initial appointment and still no contacts in. My replacement/trial contacts have dried up and ripped so they gave me some that were "close" but are still causing irritation and headaches. I've stopped over multiple times during business hours to ask questions about this but there was no one there. I understand being open by appointment but why have regular hours if you aren't going to stick to them? Anyway, I've really wanted to like this place but I'm finding it really difficult and will likely go somewhere else next time.
