Since my last review, they have added a large paved parking lot next-door, where it used to be just gravel. Inside they have one of the largest used book/media sections you'll ever see in any thrift store. The stuff that gets donated here is usually better than what you would find at Goodwill, which means you're more likely to come across unique and valuable finds. You'll also find every imaginable knickknack under the sun here for office home and hardware use. In the back room, there's bicycles, electronics, and furniture. The front of the store is given over, almost entirely to clothing and shoes. Still my favorite thrift store to come to in Fredericksburg.

They have an active Facebook page where they highlight larger items. I went to look at a chair they highlighted and a volunteer lowered the price to sweeten the pot since it had been there a few days already. I left with two chairs. . I can't say it's a bad store in any way it was just more of a let down. I'm used to Christmas stores being over the top and packed full of cheer. This place just felt sterile and empty. There was nothing unique and not much to look at inventory wise. It felt like they were trying to be too sophisticated but instead it just sort of took the joy out of what you expect to find in a CHRISTMAS SHOP! We want tinsel and Holly and twinkles, this store doesn't have much but blown glass and a few Santa statues that you wouldn't want your kids to play around. Even those are sparse on the shelves. Not much to it so the result was disappointing.

I walked from room to room and at one point I felt lost and didn't know my way out LOL. I eventually got back to the front of the store, but it was a long journey around. Tons of neat stuff in every room. I was looking for a mug for my dear friend's birthday... I found it... a mug for cat lovers! It was perfect. Staff was okay. Price was decent. Some rooms in this store look a bit dated. By the way, it's not just a Christmas store... they sell a lot of other non-Christmas stuff, too. It's more like a year-round store IMHO. The main reason was my Bro needed to get a new LP tank(not a refill but a new filled tank) So, first we go to Sporting Goods because I figured I could get my Hunting/Fishing License since we were there, only there are literally five employees behind the counter but they couldn't have been doing too much as i was told the Texas license system was down due to the Wi-Fi being down-not working?? After some wait, i finally got serviced. Then my Bro goes to the front counter with his items-and to order a LP tank, which I'm pretty sure it has to be done in person via a live cashier. There was only one register open so we wait in line but when we got to the cashier the dude says, "This lane is closed,,I'm taking a break." So, my bro asks what other lanes were open? To wit the cashier snuggly states, "None". We're like, why the heck would you take a break and not call someone to take over the register or open another lane?? Well, Bro is so PO'ed by this point he leaves his sht on the belt and says let's blow the joint! So, we leave and go to H-E-B. I doubt my bro will ever return to this Walmart again even if there's no other choice-not sure I will either. So, what has happened to customer service at Walmart?

I really like this Walmart because it's clean and there aren't toys or clothes on the floor like you find at other Walmarts. The food selection is better here than at nearby Walmarts. That might be because if Fredericksburg and the tourist industry. Either way, there are steaks and sausages that I can't get elsewhere. The premium cheese selection is also something to check out.

One woman came in asking to swap one she just purchased for a different color and was flatly refused. No refunds or exchanges.
