Call me crazy, but a heart procedure is serious and should be scheduled within less than three months. When I asked for her name, she gave it and then abruptly hung up. I called back to speak with her supervisor, but I was placed directly on hold. This happened three times. On the fourth try, I finally spoke with a new representative, but when I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was placed on hold for more than five minutes. When the representative returned, I was told the supervisor was too busy but would try to reach out the next day. I contacted the ombudsman, but they weren't much help either. I was given the runaround. Bottom line: be very cautious of Sutter Health. It seems that the organization's culture prioritizes revenue from monthly premiums over genuine patient care, especially for patients of color.

The front desk person was professional, attentive, and friendly. The location is convenient with easy access to the freeways as well as other stores. I arrived shortly after they opened on a weekday and was fortunate to be seen within a few minutes. The medical assistant and the physician assistant were both wonderful. It was a relief to be treated with such care and consideration. I also appreciated how they took the time to listen to me as well as explain what they could and could not do. They did not rush which made me feel more comfortable being in their care. When I arrived, I could not hear out of one ear and the other ear was slightly clogged. They clearly communicated what they were going to do beforehand and also what I could expect. They were gentle in evaluating my ears and irrigating them. My symptoms were addressed and I got prescribed a cough medicine and Paxlovid which was available later that afternoon. Definitely recommend a walk in video visit from this clinic, a first for me. You will have to work with the incompetent front desk nurse to explain your symptoms and take pictures on the iPad that he/she uses to check patients in, input patient symptoms, talk to the doctor on call, and more. It is basically the only computer / technology in the office and is the single point of failure - meaning if it dies or stops working then you are screwed. Once you've relayed everything to the nurse, the nurse will then go outside into the waiting area and tell the doctor on call everything you just told him/her, even if there are other patients seated there. One thing to note is that the examining room is NOT sound proof, so anyone seated in the waiting area will hear everything you, the nurse, and the doctor are saying. Pretty sure that violates HIPAA. The doctor you may webcam with to discuss your symptoms / issue may or may not be competent. Mine sadly was not and ended up prescribing me the same OTC medication I was taking. The funny thing was that I brought in the OTC medicine I was using to show to the nurse and doctor so that they would NOT prescribe me the same thing. Talk about a waste of time, privacy, and money! Speaking of money, expect to pay the same, if not more, than if you were going to see a doctor in person. In fact, you will probably pay more if you go in the weekend, evening, or holiday -- there is a bogus $60 fee they apparently tack on and do not tell you about until months after your visit.
