    Boom Boom Shrimp

Food was really good tonight! I had the chicken Gorgonzola Alfredo. My wife had the boom boom shrimp and French onion soup. She enjoyed the pixie stick martini equally as much. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

We arrived before they opened and they opened on time and greeted us with friendly smiles and good natured banter. After sitting for a little while at our table, I found it be cold in this restaurant. It was 40 degrees outside but it felt like the A/C was on inside. I went back out to my car to get a sweater because my coat was too heavy to wear and eat. There are many interesting photos on displayed on the walls all over the restaurant. The theme seems to focus mainly on the Prohibition Era which I found very interesting because I like history. I ordered the Philly Dip Sandwich with Au Jus and their signature Horseradish Sauce which thankfully came on the side. Being able to dip a traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich in Au Jus was outstanding. I loved it. The sandwich was served with potato chips which seemed to be homemade. Pretty good. She ordered the Chicken Philly Sandwich which came with grilled mushrooms and banana peppers. The peppers were melted in with the cheese. She loved her sandwich even though it was a tad dry and would order it again.

I really like this place and tonight did not disappoint. It's a solid choice for family Italian and it's not a chain. Locally owned and Gordon, the owner, is always there working hard and making sure that the operation runs well. I like it.

Yesterday was my second time into Sutton's within the past few months, and I should say it's been consistent. The appetizers were so good. We shared the fried banana peppers and the bang bang shrimp. The banana peppers had a unique but delicious flavor and were served with a horseradish sauce. The bang bang shrimp were crispy but sauced with bang bang. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo which was some of the best Alfredo I've had in a while. My husband ordered the Baked Chicken & Broccoli and raved about how delicious it was.. The dining area was clean and had a nice vibe to it. We will certainly return!

    Chicken Parmesan - lunch portion

I enjoyed lunch at Suttons. I like that they have a lunch menu ($10 or less) with some of their pasta dishes in smaller portions. I did have to ask the server to bring this menu as we were first only provided with the regular menu. I tried the Chicken Parmesan. It was very good and the lunch portion was the perfect amount for me. Service was good. I really like the decor and ambiance as well.

Our waitress was lovely, very on the ball, prompt and friendly. You can tell the place fills up but with many different room-ets the body of people is broken up and maintains a more intimate feeling. We ordered the cornucopia from the Autumn menu which was fresh, well prepared and nicely seasoned. The majority of veggies were hot and the beets were chilled which was a nice contrast and the pistachio pesto underneath was a nice touch. Acorn squash was fab. Side salad was huge especially for $3.50 pricetag. Meatballs were nicely seasoned and tender. They had a little red pepper kick to finish. The cider chop was amazing! Thick pork chop, brined for 24 hours to make it tender and juicy. Paired classically with white beans, and a modern twist with fried onions and sautéed apples. This dish is a must. The disappointment of the evening was the chicken parm. It was soggy and the chicken was tough. It's a staple item that should be done well to bring people back, however, with such wonderful, non traditional items on the menu, venture to eat those instead!

Started with an old-fashioned and an unsweet tea. Drink was good overall. We shared a Caesar salad to start. Half of the lettuce pieces were brown. Lettuce was yellowed more than green. Meh. Meatballs were good, sausage was good. For dessert I ordered the chocolate mousse which was okay. It was everything you would expect a nice dining experience. The menu was extensive with lots of modern takes on Italian favorites. There is a good wine list with sufficient number of options for any wine taste and also a specialty cocktail list. We started out with fried calamari and a specialty caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and a variety of meats and olives. They were all delicious and fresh. For dinner I had the Fagottini Sinatra which was to die for. The combination of the pasta, cheeses, apple bites, and cream sauce enhanced all the flavors and produced a combination which I would HIGHLY recommend. Note that the prices are $30-$50 a meal but you get what you would expect from a nice restaurant. I will definitely be back on a future visit to Lexington.

She spent most of her time standing around with other waitresses talking. We were seated as far from the kitchen as you could be and she was so loud yelling that we could hear every word. There was a small child sitting at a table alone that the wait staff kept checking on. Not sure if this was an employee's child that they brought to work with them. As we were about to eat, the hostess seated a man and his dog across from us. It was not a service dog. As the waitresses surrounded the puppy the owner explained it was 8 weeks old and he just got it yesterday. He sat the dog in the chair, on the table, and walked it across the restaurant, in which the wait staff pet it then went back to waiting tables. Our waitress then sat at the table with the child (close to the hostess podium) and other waitresses and yelled across the restaurant to the kitchen to order herself an Italian salad. The food was awful. We ordered the chicken parm and mezalluna. The chicken was beaten paper thin and the pasta was room temp and flavorless. We added the spices they bring for the bread to the dishes in an attempt to add some flavor. $50 for water, two entrees, and a very disappointing lunch service. Based on our dining experience, we do not recommend this restaurant and will not return.
