I always have to rave about La Trattoria - their orzo salad is SO good and lasts me for two meals! I replace the chicken with their meatball and you shouldn't knock it until you try it! Definitely a higher price point than you would expect for a small town I. Kentucky, but worth it because of the quality and freshness!

My friends and I were headed back to Cincinnati from the Gorge and wanted to find a place with pasta. This is the place! It's about 30 minutes from Red River Gorge and in the middle of a small town. It's a small dining area that could probably accommodate around 10 groups, we got seated right away. Our server was sweet and helpful. The food was delicious, I got Chicken Alfredo which I haven't had in years and it hit the spot! The chicken was tasty and the alfredo was the perfect noodle size and consistency. I got the breadstick and side salad as well and it was the perfect amount to fill up a hungry hiker.

Tonight's dinner was much better than my last review. I got the salmon and ceaser salad again and it was super seasoned and amazing. My bruschetta was amazing as well. They were out of sweet tea so I had to get a water and they were so busy that we had to wait forever for our food but thats ok.

Looking for a fantastic salad in Winchester? Try the Greek salad at La Trattoria.

The food is fabulous! Very authentic Italian. They're pizza is the best in town by far. They're Greek salad is one of my favorites. Their service is spot on and very personal. The setting in downtown Winchester on Main Street across from Leeds theater is unique and very fitting to the ambience of the Italian flare. I love sitting at the bar with Abby as the bartender. You won't find a better one . Nick knows his food and is very involved in the kitchen. Go check them out, you won't be sorry. Tell them Jennie sent ya

Pizza. And it was great. The service was HORRIBLE

No!!! This is the worse service anywhere I've been. We sat at the bar for 15 mins to me to finally wave down someone to ask for a drink. And then I asked if we could order food that we were ready and he said I'm not ready to take your order. He is the only one that has even looked at us. The 2 bartenders never even looked at us. People were coming In and standing at the bar and never be waited on just to leave!! We will never be back. We ordered gluten free pizza where we paid 5$ extra per pizza. I spent a long time being sick in the bathroom. Cross contamination!! If you have celiac disease then don't go here.

Absolutely adorable spot for Italian in Versailles!…read more I met up with some friend here for a girls dinner and luckily it was nice enough to be seated on the patio. We started with the arancini as well as the house bread that's served after you're seated- both super tasty. I'm not a huge pasta fan so I ordered a grilled romaine salad (that may be seasonal because I no longer see it on the menu). I added salmon and it was great! Our service was great and I definitely think Vallozzi's is worth the drive from Lexington!

My wife points out Vallozzi's as we were walking back to the car, and we decided to try. We walked in and immediate love the vibe. The restaurant is gorgeous! And they were busy too. We walked up to see if we could get a table. She asked if we had a reservation and we didn't. She said they were totally booked. We were bummed but said thank you and agreed we'd come back when we did. As we were leaving, the hostess chased us down and asked if we still wanted to grab dinner, of course we said yes ...... and so began our dining journey with Vallozzis! Ashley as was our server and we took her recommendations on just about everything! The menu is varied with plenty of options. We started with the prosciutto plate and recommended wine - Teresa got the Angel Rose and I chose the Hall Chardonnay. Perfect. Our daughter had a Sprite, just to put that out there. Our daughter got the manicotti which looked fab! My wife got the Parma, and I got the special beef filet ravioli. Everything was prepared perfectly and we could not have been better service. Thanks Ashley! The ambiance is quite charming and you'll feel very comfortable being here! We needed to get dessert of course so we chose the banana tiramisu and got two of them to go! No disappointment at all. Really enjoyed our time and dining experience here and we'll definitely be back. There's too much on that fabulous menu to try, not yo come back and back and back. Check out Vallozzis! Make sure to get a reservation just to be safe. We will too!

The receipt says the name of Tabitha but I'm unsure if that was our waitress or whomever was just logged into the front register. Please anyone and everyone go there and bless this lady with CASH TIPS! Regardless, our waitress was amazing and deserved $1,000.00 tip if we were able to do so. ***THIS OWNER COULD POSSIBLY BE RETAINING CUSTOMERS INFORMATION DUE TO THE ACTIONS HE TRIED TODAY!!*** Now to the worse part... we go to the register to pay. The receipt is printed and our cost was $118.71. Today is Thanksgiving day and we wanted to bless our waitress for her great service and as a simple act of kindness. This is what we do! The owner came to the register and said he wanted to see my husband's id to insure it was indeed his credit card because we were leaving our waitress a $220.00 tip. (Granted, this is a business in Winchester, KY and we are from Lexington, KY where the bigger restaurants must allow their employees to get a blessed tip.) They matched up and then he proceeds to flip the credit card over and says he needs to take a picture of his credit card info along with his drivers license and also writes my husbands telephone number on the receipt. That's a big negative! My husband says no, then retrieves his cards. There's no reason he would need the credit card info and his drivers license info if the credit card had already been swiped and approved. Actually there's no reason anyone should take a front and back picture of your credit card and drivers license. The owner gets pissed off and says he will only accept $20.00 charged on the card for her tip and that our tip was an unreasonable amount for her. My husband says he will just give her cash. The owner says, that's fine, go to the bank and get cash to give to her. My husband says he has the money on him and gives her the cash in person. The owner says fine, pay your bill and thanks for tip. Excuse me asshole. That tip was not for you and I hope that she gets to keep it. From the way he acted, it seemed like he was an abusive boss/owner! Our waitress was in tears and gave us each a huge hug along with her daughter that was there. The way that this man acted was so disturbing as if his employees don't deserve to be blessed. I hope that God blesses this lady and her family that she finds a better boss then this asshole! We couldn't really express how we felt about his actions in fear of he may retaliate against her. This post is not to deter anyone from going to this business but to just inform you all that if you want to give this waitress a blessing, bring cash because her asshole, abusive, prejudiced boss won't let you and will make the employee feel as if they don't deserve a blessing. I encourage anyone and everyone to please go here and bless this waitress! She's only been at the restaurant a few weeks and she says she's just moved to Winchester from Lexington for a fresh start with her children!

Tonight…read morethere were four (4) of us -- upon arrival, they had no record of our reservation which was done (AND CONFIRMED) last week via FB Messenger. Nonetheless, they were able to accommodate us with only a brief wait -- overall, not a big deal. Service was average at best. Server was polite but did not write down our orders which meant coming back to confirm -- both drinks and food several times. We always enjoyed the pizza here so when we inquired about the pizza menu, none was provided but the server "rattled off" three pizza options. Not a good impression since, once we got a menu from the manager, there were plenty of choices. Took, what seemed like, forever to get drinks -- still not sure if there was actually a bartender or if the servers were handling the drinks. MUSIC IS INSANELY LOUD!!! TERRIBLE! Food was mediocre -- it used to be off the charts fantastic. Shrimp and Grits (two orders) were floating in grease from the onions and peppers -- it was awful. Pasta Alfredo, with shrimp and chicken was very good! Salmon with risotto was just okay. Long story short -- this place used to be fantastic, an absolute no brainer to visit regularly. But after three recent visits, we'll take a year or two off until they get their act together.

Email sent to beau@copperandoakky.com (taken from La Cosa Nostra's Facebook page) last night with…read moreno response (yet); will update review if a response is received: "I really don't know where to begin, I'm so taken aback. You're a restaurant in the business of hospitality, right? Perhaps share that with your employee named Ellie, who took it upon herself to nastily and aggressively berate my sister this evening. Let me paint a picture for you. Our party dined with you in observance of three family birthdays (my sister's being one of them) and brought a homemade cake to enjoy, just as we did last year when we reserved the vault room. Imagine our surprise when, upon receiving the checks, we were charged a $25 "cake cutting fee." I realize that's just semantics, like a "corkage fee," but maybe call it something else when the servers do no such thing. I digress. When questioned by my sister about the charge, Ellie told her in no uncertain terms that the cake cutting fee was clearly posted "on the door, the menu, and the website." Multiple members of our party thoroughly checked all three places and found it stated NOWHERE. The audacity! How rude and misinformed can one person be? Needless to say, an otherwise pleasant experience was instantly and wholly ruined by one person's lack of professionalism and tact. I've never had a bad experience at Copper & Oak, so I'm not sure what's gone wrong at La Cosa Nostra, but none of my meals there have come close by comparison. And you can be assured I'll never spend my hard earned money there again; in fact, I'll be hesitant to support Copper & Oak by mere association. And I'll be quick to caution others regarding both establishments. I'll be curious to see if this email is ignored (my prediction) or handled in a timely, professional manner. And even more curious to see - if acknowledged - how you intend to remedy the situation. Oh, and you might consider updating the website, as you highlight both spaghetti and meatballs and saltimbocca, but serve neither."

The polenta is fantastic and the hearty wild mushroom ragu is seasoned to perfection. The butternut squash soup was light. It was the weakest dish and I feel lacked salt. The faina was the most surprising item and I am so glad I tried it. . This chickpea pancake was slightly crispy at the edges with a luscious center. Ignore the butter in the photo. It was offered with olive oil and I always prefer butter, but it did not need either. The cannoli were amazing. Whipped mascarpone was genius. I've often found ricotta heavy. These were very light. I must note. I am gluten intolerant and watch what | eat. The menu is very gluten free friendly with notations and substitution possibilities (including the cannoli shells made with almond flour).
