I have BAD dental anxiety. So they were kind enough to suggest breaking up my appointments so that I wouldn't get overwhelmed. The care I was given and the exam was so thorough! From the beginning they get your picture for your file. They get scans so that if you chip a tooth, they'll have something to use for a replacement! Dr. Shaulk is very knowledgeable, and personable. He makes sure you understand. I told them I pulled off my own braces . They didn't make me feel any type of way for that either! He gave me a lot of options for treatment and made me feel at ease by letting me know that they do offer sedation dentistry for patients with anxiety like mine! I was floored. They called and made sure I was aware of and to confirm my appointment twice! I appreciate that because I do forget. I will say that they are very thorough. When I made my first appt for my annual cleaning, it was not a typical cleaning appointment. They take extensive x-rays and evaluate your gums/teeth to see if you need a deep cleaning. This process takes a few hours. No cleaning will be done on the first appointment. You will have to schedule another appt to come back and do the actual cleaning. I appreciate the thoroughness, but it's very inconvenient. They also let you see the bill/charges before they start on any procedures. They offer payment plans if you cannot pay it all at once that day. My huge issue with them is billing and always trying to add on extra services that are not covered by my insurance. This first happened at my cleaning. There was a charge on my bill for a Fluoride Treatment. I asked them why was I being charged an extra $65 (or something around that) for my annual cleaning, and they said it was from the fluoride treatment that is not included. I asked them to take it off and only provide me the services that is included with my annual cleaning from my insurance. The woman was not happy about it, but she took it off. I had to come back because I had pain in my gums and teeth. I figured it was an abscess. They took xrays and found out there was something wrong with some of my impacted teeth, so they need to extract 3 teeth. They kept insisting on me paying for this $700 xray or scan that could help them evaluate and see the teeth better even though they already took xrays. I ended up giving in, so I had to pay that out-of-pocket. I honestly don't know if it was absolutely necessary or not. It didn't seem like a mandatory xray/scan because they would have proceeded even without it, so idk. Dr. Williams was really great. He was the first dentist that gave me the numbing shots that did not cause any pain whatsoever. I barely felt a thing, and I have a huge fear of those shots. Unfortunately he only comes in on a need-basis. I don't think I will ever come back. They seem to care way too much about adding on services and charging you extra. Also, your appts pretty much take at the minimum of 3 hours, regardless of what you're getting done. read more

I am so disappointed in the direction this business went. Used to be that the client was more important than how much it was going to cost. WE won't be back and that is so sad because we have been going for years. This place has people who don't know what they are doing. I set up an appointment for my daughter to get her teeth cleaned, we arrived, to be told oh, we changed the appointment because you called and asked us to check out one of the teeth that were bothering her. What??? Okay, so we went in and had it looked at... after waiting 45 minutes... nothing was wrong, let's go ahead and set up the cleaning, Set it up, left, and received a phone call 10 minutes later, I'm sorry we need to change your appointment, okay, changed, 10 minutes after that, another call, saying "I'm sorry, we have to change your appointment, again, changed it, 30 minutes later another call to change the same appointment, but this time we can have the original date we wanted at the same time... WHAT??? So today we went in, let's talk about your daughter's treatment plan, wait what, this is a cleaning appointment, oh, okay we will get to that, So we are in the office going over everything, and then here's the bill for it all.. $5000.00. with insurance, what am I paying for, your new laser.. Okay, I understand things cost money, but this is over the top. Not only that they talked about everything in front of my daughter, so now she feels bad that it's now going to cost so much... NOT, new dental company here we come. This is only a small portion of everything that has happened at this business from my daughter's crown falling off 4 times,.to the nurse commenting on my phone call with my husband, overcharging for services, just to send a refund at the end of the year... I'm a 23 year old graduate student who was tempted by the card I received in the mail for discounted x-rays & cleaning. Not only did the entire experience take 2 1/2 hours, but the dentist (who lectured me on HPV vaccinations & how my "mouth told her I was stressed") told me I had FOUR cavities. She told me that one needed to be filled immediately and that the other 3 would need to be filled soon. I've never had a cavity in my life, so I decided to get a second opinion. I went to another dentist who said they could find not a single cavity in my mouth. Not a single one. He said I am the second young patient he's seen in his office who has been told by Suwanee Dental that they needed hundreds of dollars of fillings/work only to find them cavity free. The kicker is that I mentioned to the Suwanee Dental dentist that I have had a negative reaction to Lidocaine once & she told me I needed to do hundreds of dollars of allergy testing before I scheduled my appointment to get a filling. If I would have trusted them, I would be down immense amount of money for unnecessary dental work. I'm appalled by the lack of morality & honesty and I will never be returning to this office & will make sure everyone I know stays away. read more

They are the best! I have severe dental phobia and they know this. They do everything possible to make me feel at ease. They let me listen to music on my phone, they let me take a break if it gets to be too much, they let me use their fuzzy fleece blankets, they give me nitrous (sometimes free of charge)! Dr Magdi is wonderful and so is Dr Patel. I love them and how sweet they are. I would recommend them to anyone. Amy and Jackie - those two receptionists are angels!!! Ok, so honestly I never even made it pass the appointment call with the front desk staff I had already gotten the feeling that this practice does not have a good ethic standard. I called to schedule a SIMPLE teeth cleaning. I'm new to the area and drove passed by this place and the office front is very attractive, so I decided to give it a try. The lady answered the phone, slow paced asked me bunch of unrelated questions like why I left my old dentist?! Finally she got to the point of making my appointment for me, instead of just finding a person to schedule me, she went around and told me the doctor had to see me and exam me and then decide what kind of cleaning I need.... lol.... I told her I have a 14 min old at home so I don't have time to come back multiple times just to get a teeth cleaning, then she went up and repeated the same nonsense to me. I had worked at a dental office part time in college long time ago, so I understand the scamming part of this, I also had many many many teeth cleaning done and it was never as this complicated. You call, you get an appointment, you go in, get your teeth cleaned and then the doctor come check u, if you are new you get a bunch of X Rays done, and that is it! There was no need for the run around just so they can scam and charge ppl more from their insurance?! I went to have a tooth extracted because it was broken. All of a sudden, I had to have a bone graft. So the price was tripled. 2 weeks later I was still having severe pain and numbness in my face so I went back. I was treated like I didn't know what I was talking about. I was told the Doctor (Williams) would call at the end of the week. Never received a call. This practice has perfected the upsell as many reviewers have stated. I went to this dentist to get a filling filled and got that done. Then I went in for what I thought was a cleaning and exam. It was just x rays and it was over $200! the actual cleaning that they wanted me to do was another $300+. they gave me a schedule of what they wanted me to do and it was $19,000! I went to another dentist and they noted that this practice is the highest in that area and that they end up fixing a lot of their work. I used to love this place until Dr. Williams completely screwed up my mouth. He put an implant in the front of my mouth that has been a TOTAL nightmare for over 2 years. It has NEVER felt right and caused me constant pain and discomfort. I finally get referred to an ACTUAL dental surgeon only to find out what I suspected and that being he did a CRAPPY JOB!!! I have been going through hell with this and feel SDC needs to PAY for all the additional work I now have to go through another 6 months of hell because of him. Let me start off by saying that I had an appointment 6 months ago and it went perfectly fine. However the second one is where the problems had occurred. Originally my appointment was Tuesday. I had called ahead of time and gave my insurance information and at that time they said my appointment on Tuesday was canceled so I rescheduled for Thursday. When I got there on Thursday, they said my appointment was canceled again because my insurance wasn't updated even though I had called the other day and they said because the person updating the insurance is different from the person confirming the appointment which is not my fault. I finally got around to finding a dental practice close to my house (having moved a little while back) and came across Suwanee Dental Care. I have no complaints. The staff seemed nice and my hygienist is the sweetest lady. Interior is inviting but not necessarily to my taste. Makes no difference to me since I'm primarily here for dental care. On my first visit, I did have to wait longer than I would have liked past my appointment time, but service has been timely recently. I liked that they gave me recommendations (there was nothing major) for a plan for my teeth, but wasn't pushy about getting things done that wasn't exactly needed. I'd definitely recommend this place based on my hygienist alone! read more

First, the decor: Filled with poverty porn, depicting all the poor African kids the tried to convert to their "religion" on their missionary trips. Truly disgusting and hypocritical. Second: Their patient paperwork is filled with intrusive religious questions, showing an obvious bias. It's quite scary if you don't share their "religious beliefs". There's a valid concern that they won't treat you kindly if you don't share the same "religion". Third: They undermedicated me during a root canal. I clung to the chair, tears streaming down my face, as they threatened to send me elsewhere where I'd have to pay even more money if I didn't let them extract the tooth while I could still feel the intense pain. Fourth: They sent me home with a prescription for just 5 pills to recover from the root canal, and claimed they weren't legally allowed to give me more unless I had surgery. I would consider the root canal surgery, though, and I was in excruciating pain for weeks afterwards. I told them over the counter medication doesn't work, and though they admitted that was expected in my case they still refused to give me a prescription for pain medication. They have since refused to speak with me since I told them I knew they were lying to me about not being able to prescribe more than 5 pills. I don't appreciate being treated like a drug seeker and I don't like being lied to. I was in pain and they were callous and cruel. Fifth: They are EXTREMELY overpriced. They claimed I won a certain amount off of my dental work, but it was still 2-3 TIMES more expensive than other dentists for inhumane treatment. Sixth: As many have pointed out, they really push the (overpriced) upsell, which is offensive when you tell them you're financially struggling. Seventh: They have made complaints about my poor reviews and have tried to have it taken down so that others don't know how truly horrible they are at Suwanee Dental "Care". My wife picked this dental group because they advertised iv sedation dentistry. At first they seemed okay...but prices seemed inordinately high. We decided to use them and was told that the examine and consult, which took all of one minute, literally, (because my wife brought her own xrays from the previous dentist) would be no cost to us. I am a witness to that statement. However they billed her insurance company for $109.00, of which we are on the hook for half. She called the office about this and was told, despite telling them what we were told, they were going thru with the billing. So the bottom line...don't trust what they tell you. I understand in healthcare you need to be aware of you policy. Medical policies I am more comfortable with and I do admit my fault in this situation. However, when I called the facility and made the initial appointment for my cleaning, the front office took my demographics and all dental plan information. I work in medicine ( our front office is always knowledgeable on policies we are in and out of network with.) I arrive at my appointment, fill out my paperwork, present my drivers license and dental plan card to the front desk. She smiled, made a copy, entered my information and returned my cards. I was then called back, the x-ray machine was down turning my visit into a two hour visit. They said I needed a deep cleaning. They would normally send me away and bring me back for a very expensive treatment. The one thing I do know is I had the right to sight a waiver and get the cleaning that my insurance covers and come back after my waiting period to get the deep cleaning. I left the office after the cleaning and nothing was collected. To be expected from an in network dentist. I then receive a quote treatment plan. Quoted as if I had no insurance! I quickly responded that the quote be redone with the prices that my insurance world pay when I had the treatments done in the proper waiting periods. It was revised and sent back to me. Keep in mind, people are looking and verifying benefits on my insurance while doing this....one would assume. I then get a bill for 188.00 a month later stating that is what I owe because they are out of network with my policy. I was told that they are only in network with four plans! FOUR....with everyone involved in my treatment from appointment, check-in, treatment and treatment plan nobody could figure out that my plan was one they were not in network with. LACK OF COMMUNICATION AND TRAINING! I called, voiced my concerns and asked for everything to be written off except my 50.00 deductible and was asked if I could wait until Monday to get an answer on that. That would have been three business days. After 17 business days I called back myself. Ironic right before the next set of statements went out to say I was 60 day past due. When my call was finally returned the dentist said she would not write anything off. They would have been really happy if I had come in for the bigger procedures and then they could have pulled this on me then. I would not recommend this office to anyone, yes be familiar with your plan. However, they are more than happy to reel you in and give you no courtesy to inform you that they are not in network before they start to reach in your pocket. read more

I am not sure how one classifies this type of business with a retail outlet pricing structure. But, if forced they are likely premium. What this means is that you will being paying a larger portion of the bill versus a regular dentist. Be clear what your insurance will cover and to what limits in order to avoid surprises. read more

This by far is the worst dentist I have ever gone to for both myself and my family. I had a crown done two years ago and have to have replaced due to the poor quality of work that was done. My husband as well had to have his work repaired that this dental office did. The office is friendly but the doctors do not know what they are doing there at all. They have top of the line equipment and the nicest people from the doctors, hygienists, and right through to the clerical staff. However, they have so many billing issues (not including how expensive they are), we always end up getting undercharged when we leave the place, we then don't hear anything from them, and then months down they road we find out our account on collections because they didn't charge is the right amount in the first place and don't even let us know! So we contact collections and pay the rest we didn't know we owed.. which should be the end of it.. NOPE! if we want to set our new appointment, we have to pay out of pocket instead of using our insurance because they can't get their billing together and inform us of what's happening?!?! I was a patient of Dr. Williams and he was so sweet and calmed me down because I have severe dental phobia. I however, was told that before they would clean my teeth, I needed to have all these crowns done. They cost $3,500 each! I could not believe it. I had one done and then the second one I had to have done with a different dentist because Dr. Williams was retiring. He promised me he wouldn't do anything until I was asleep (I paid an extra $500 for sedation). Well before I fell asleep, they wrenched my mouth open and gave me Novocaine shots. How on edge was I then! The assistant just sat there staring at me and told me to stop playing with my phone like I was a 5 year old. I was just listening to music but then I called my best friend. I couldn't talk but handed the phone to her on speaker and my friend said, "oh is this the dentist? Do not do ANYTHING UNLESS SHE IS ASLEEP." The dentist who's name I can't remember, just said, well we have to start. My mouth was pried open for 4 1/2 hours so on top of everything else, now I have TMJ problems on the other side of my mouth. I used to only have it on the left side. When I called to discuss the problems with the office manager she just sat there and said NOTHING. Let me start off by saying, I loathe the dentist. But I decided to come here after being referred by a friend and I was very impressed. The staff is extremely friendly and caring. They sense your nervous and make you feel so at ease and comfortable. Lena the hygienist is an angel, she is so sweet and great at what she does, she's also very delicate and gentle. Dr. Schalk is also great, he's very polite, has a great personality too. He is very good and competent at what he does. My only complaint is that they don't seem to accept HMO dental insurance, which is very sad and might force me to switch dentists :(. They do offer payment plans which is great, but I'd much rather use my insurance than making payments. If you have insurance that they accept, do not go anywhere else! Dr. Majdi is without a doubt my favorite dentist. I am not a fan of having dental work done, however, at swaneee dental care under the expertise of Dr. Naz Majdi I feel I am in good hands. I recently had to go in for wisdom teeth extraction and Dr. Majdi did a wonderful job. She was quick and really showed she knew what she was doing. She is a dentist who will keep you entertained and pain free. You can always expect a caring follow up call after a visit to check on you, and you can always reach out to her with any questions or concerns. She always replies or calls back in a timely manner. If you want pay for no reason even having insurance then go here or else avoid this dentist, when you go there first they say your insurance is in network and don't need to pay any thing for regular cleaning and after few days they send you a huge bill when you inquired about it they say it's out of network and you need to pay. By far the best dental office I've ever experienced! Very large office with tons of employees. The staff is so welcoming and kind. It feels like cheers everytime I'm there, cause somehow they all know my name lol. The doctors always take the time to see you and explain things to you thoroughly. I love Dr. Majdi! She's the best. HORRIBLE PLACE! I explained that I did not want anything that wasn't covered and they explained that the fluoride was covered under my insurance, so I agreed to get it. When I walked out of the room, and they said I owed them for it and that it was not covered by insurance. They covered that after I told them the situation. Then I get a bill in the mail for 47 dollars for an irrigation treatment that I also thought was going to be covered by insurance. Apparently I signed a consent form saying that I agreed to it. Maybe I should learn to actually read what I am agreeing too, but this place just wants your money and does not give a crap about you. It "looks nice but the staff is terrible. Just a warning to anyone seeking a new dentist. As I have gotten yet another bill in the mail and no phone call back. This has been going on for several months and nothing has been resolved. All three times I have called up to speak about my issues and huge bills, I have to explain everything all over again because nothing is ever written down. Thus, I get angrier every time. I have a few friends looking for new dentists and I have steered them clear of getting lied to about how much they will pay when I was told I would have to pay NOTHING! 100% covered means I pay nothing, right? That's what I was told by EVERY PERSON I saw and was worked with at Suwanee Dental Care. My intent is to save others from being lied to and stuck with a big fat bill with the employees saying "Oh well, sometimes people get information wrong." I was looking for a new dentist since my insurance changed and called SDC, as I had received many fliers in the mail. I spoke to a woman and explained I had HUMANA. She took my information and even offered to call them and call me back and tell me my benefits. A day or two later she called me back and said that they file under HUMANA and I will be covered 100% for preventative services, other services vary with me paying 30% and so on. I made it VERY CLEAR that I was making an appointment for my son and myself and that I couldn't afford to pay anything right now. She assured me that ALL PREVENTATIVE SERVICES ARE COVERED 100%. So I take my son and sign the paperwork and talk to the lady at the front desk who I spoke with about insurance. AGAIN, I made sure that all preventative work was covered 100%. Then we proceed back and I am shown the Kuerig and massage lounge, the fancy tvs, yada yada. None of that interested me, although in hindsight, I assume that's what they are billing me for. No thanks, didn't want it or use it. All I wanted was a dentist I could trust. As my son is examined, BEFORE THE ASSISTANT DID ANY AND EVERYTHING, I asked, "Is this covered 100%? I only want the preventative services, covered 100%." Again I get a "Yes, yes, of course." Same with pictures, x-rays, cleaning, I asked EVERY SINGLE TIME. Then the dentist came in and I ASKED HIM and he told me that everything he did was covered 100% as well. It could not have been more clear that I did not want services that I had to pay for if I had it tattooed on my forehead. EVERY PERSON LIED TO ME! I am then told that my son needs a mouth guard and it's around $3,ooo. (Which, is NOT TRUE according to the orthodontist I went to who kept their word about 100% covered. I didn't have to pay a thing for that appointment.) So I leave and everyone is nice on the way out and I get hit with an almost $200 bill. I come back before my appointment and bring the bill. To my face, the lady says, "Oh, it should all be covered, I don't know why they sent you that. You shouldn't owe anything. Insurance must not have hit yet." I thought, great, phew. WRONG! I get my exam, cleaning, x-rays, pics, etc. I asked my dental assistant and the same Dr. who examined my son to only do the preventative work that is covered 100% before EVERY THING THEY DID TO ME. I am mad about being lied to and taken advantage of. They all seem real sweet but then I get home and about a week later I get hit with an almost $400 bill for me and my son. I called and they said, "You need to wait and let insurance hit." Well I did and it got reduced almost $100, but I am still sitting here with an almost $300 bill. They finally got creative and sent it to my husband, like he is gonna pay that. I have called 3 times and every time, no one has any idea what my issues are, so I have to explain myself again. Then I get mad and they say they will call me back, or I still have to pay, or my favorite, "Oh, sometimes the people who give information about the insurance aren't use to working up there and they get things wrong." It seems like they need to train their employees better. I AM NOT EATING ANYONE ELSE'S MISTAKE. EVERY PERSON THERE LIED TO ME AND I AM STILL BEING SENT BILLS AND NOT RECEIVING CALLS BACK. Needed a root canal that my primary dentist could not do so I went to Suwanee Dental and absolutely loved the care I received! Dr. Madji was very comforting when she could sense I was hesitant and scared about getting the root canal. She was very gentle and proficient and the staff helping her were just as amazing. They made me feel the most comfortable I could and continued to ask me how I was doing throughout the procedure to make sure I wasn't uncomfortable. The office is nice, there is a waiting room that is relaxing and has massage chairs, and the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable during any procedure. I had some fillings and my wife had a crown put in, and we both have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Please don't make the same mistake I did. I had some crowns done by Dr Williams and they failed three years later. Dr Williams told me that can happen and you now need implants. I received a second opinion and was told that you should have done implants in the first place. I put 100% confidence and trust in Dr Williams and made a mistake. After a lot of additional pain and money with a different dentist I am now happy. read more
