The first cake I had from Suzanne's Bakery was a cake for my son, Little Billy. I need to first explain how our paths crossed. My son was diagnosed with a terminal disease on July 25, 2016. At one point he was granted a Make A Wish. The Make A Wish foundation told us about Icing Smiles. Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. They rely on a generous team of volunteers spread throughout the U.S. to fulfill their mission. For Little Billy's 6th birthday Suzanne volunteered to create a dream cake for my son. It was at this time I had the pleasure to truly get to know Suzanne. The cake she would make for Little Billy was phenomenal in everyway. He was a huge Disney Pixar Cars fanantic and his custom cake design captured the biggest elements of the Cars movie. The bottom layer showcased the sights one would find on Route 66 (desert, cactus, boulders, rocky hills). The top layer played homage to the Piston Cup race with representation of the checkered flag, Lighting McQueen's red color and orange cones. The cake was a true masterpiece. All the details were precise, proportions and scale were exact, colors were accurate and the various elements blended perfectly. As far as the taste, the cake tasted amazing. The cake was truly a work of art but it was more than that. Certainly Suzanne uses the best ingredients and that was absolutely obvious. What made this cake even more special was the love, generosity and kindness that went into it. I will never forget the smiles and joy the cake brought my son. I don't know how many birthdays he has left, but his 6th birthday was extra special because Suzanne spent countless hours and her own money to donate and gift a cake to my son. I can tell you that Suzanne is the real deal, she is pure gold, just a wonderful person. We just celebrated my older daughter's birthday with a custom Descendants cake. We had an unexpected tragedy that resulted in a short window for our cake. Fortunately for us Suzanne squeezed us in and she was very patient with getting questions answered by my 10 year old daughter. My daughter, Ily, was elated with her cake. The cake was the center piece of all the decorations and a highlight of the party. Suzanne provides the perfect balance of letting us share a high level design concept/theme and then coming back with brilliant detailed design ideas. Not only did I pay more than the initial deposit requested, but had to make the final payment twice. I provided you with every detail and stayed in direct contact with you as the Mobile App attempted to find my missing payment. Again, they showed the payment was made and received but yet you advised otherwise. So yes, appropriate investigations were needed on my behalf and the Mobile app to find out what happened to the payment you advised you "did not receive." So if you are going to tell the story give the full details, not the highlights that seem to fit you best. If necessary, I can also post all screenshots of our conversations and contacts, which in the end result would make you feel pretty embarrassed and ruin this stellar professionalism you spoke so highly of. And furthermore there shouldn't be any technique to make the cake "stretch" to feed the amount of guest. I have ordered many two & three tier cakes of which competed on national levels ie: Cake Boss. But yet and still I never was required to take a class on cake slicing to fit my guest needs.
