This is my second time hiring Chef Suzy for catering and she continues to raise the bar when it comes to offering a phenomenal experience. I highly recommend her as she has become a must for when I need to arrange catering for weekends in the desert. The past year and a half has been extremely hard due to Covid, but I still wanted to throw an intimate birthday lunch for my partner and some friends. Suzy was beyond accommodating working with me to create a Mediterranean inspired menu that was light and flavorful. Her suggestions were delicious and paired nicely with one another. My guests could not stop talking about her offerings, which consisted of tandoori chicken skewers, wild caught grilled shrimp, and a smoked salmon tart. The hummus was delectable, creamy and accompanied with fluffy pita and crudite. Every dish complimented one another in perfect harmony. To top things off, Suzy even included a spice cake for us to enjoy the next morning with our coffee. The cake lasted maybe an hour before being reduced to crumbs! Suzy Gourmet catered our wedding November 7,2015 and it was because of her food, service, expertise and very professional staff it was an enormous success! Her displays were outstanding, in keeping with our theme and exceeded our expectations. Her staff were efficient and friendly. They glided through the festivities without knowing they were there and there was never an empty glass nor a dirty dish or cup left anywhere. But beyond all that, Chef Giraldo's Le Cordon Blue training was present everywhere. I have never had a finer experience anywhere. We had a five star experience with Chef Suzy. This woman is the most talented and imaginative chef. We started our event with a beer/ food pairing. We tried delicious beers from a deep coffee-tasting lager to a delightful creamy light beer. Later, we were served dinner with bursts of fresh flavors. Large white shrimp were marinated in herbs and spices with Moroccan rice. A side dish was presented of bell peppers stuffed with sausage and herbs. Using Chef Suzy Giraldo to cater my husbands Christmas party was a great decision! We were last minute in deciding to have it catered. About a week and a half prior to the party we gave her a call and she just happened to be available. Thank goodness! I gave her my budget and within 3 minutes, over the phone, she presented this menu: Wild Caught Shrimp on a Skewer Olive Tapenade and Chevre Bruschetta Large Artisan Bread with Brie, Gorgonzola, Apricot and Pecans Antipasto Skewers This was perfect for us. I told her we wanted a simple menu and everything to be finger foods. She came to the house with most of it already prepared. She put the finishing touches on everything and set it all out for me on our service table. As a plus, she gave me pointers on some small food items I could purchase myself to fill in our food table a little more. I liked that because it allowed me to keep within my budget and have a few additional items to serve. It was a great experience. Our family had the great privilege of having Chef Suzy cater a private dinner party in our home while visiting LaQuinta's PGA West. We were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary with our children and 3 wee grandchildren ages 5 1/2, 2 1/2 and 15 months: our goal was for a fun, relaxed and festive evening with a menu to satisfy the food connoisseur's amongst us and the palates of our wee grandchildren. Chef Suzy did not disappoint!! Our menu consisted of Chilled Mango Gazpacho Soup, Chateaubriand, Glazed Carrots, Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli, Chef's fresh baked Artisanal Breads, tray passed Puff Pastry and Mini Tart Appetizers. For dessert we were served French Apple Tartines with Chantilly Creme and a platter of Candied French Chocolate dipped Orange peel and Fresh Strawberries. If this were not enough, Chef Suzy blessed us with an extra Apple Tartines for our breakfast the next morning and a loaf of Lemon Poppyseed Bread. Chef Suzy, also, supplied a complete table decor of tablecloth, napkins, candles, plates and a beautifully hand pressed keepsake menu, which was lovingly tied with ribbon. She and her assistant worked quietly and efficiently preparing some dishes on site, which allowed for the "foodies" amongst us to be somewhat interactive by observing and conversing which everyone appreciated adding to the gaiety of the evening, they also, graciously served our Champaign and Wines, which we supplied. Chef Suzy and her assistance provided excellent service on top of stuffing our bellies with such delectable dishes. From her salads, BBQ entree, dessert and a very delicious mojito, we were all stuffed and very happy. Her ingredients were fresh, sauces weren't overpowering and there was a balance of textures and flavors throughout. I personally don't like mojitos, but the one served at dinner was one I could drink again (and again). She prepared for us an amazing burrata salad, romaine salad, garlic rolls, BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, potatoes, a cherry dessert with a sour cream based whipped cream. I ate everything and so did everyone else. Her ribs were coated with the most heavenly BBQ sauce (her own) and the meat fell right off the bone. Her corn was drenched in butter, just the way it should be. All the dishes were incredibly outstanding and I'm to have had the pleasure of feasting Chef Suzy's creations. Chef Suzy prepared a wonderful luncheon to celebrate my mother's birthday. The family and friends ranged from ages 17 to 96. Suzy recommended serving a crab tower topped with shrimp. As an alternative she offered a tower with chicken in place of the crab. We planned the meal and the table setup two weeks in advance with several follow-up texts leading up to the event. She visited the venue in my house the day before the event . On the day of the event Chef Suzy and her team arrived early and rearranged furniture. She used my dishes, but her linens, decorating the table with an arrangement of silk hydrangea and candles (no fresh flowers owing to my guests' allergies.) Her interaction with the guests energized the meal for everyone and made for a fun time. Dessert was an extravaganza starting with her exquisite homemade cookies and ending with everyone tasting all proffered sweets including the store bought cake, ice cream and sorbet. Service was impeccable. Everything was cleaned and all furniture was moved back into place by Suzy's team once the party ended. The only delay in the proceedings was my having to work out the seating arrangement, which needed to be done to direct the serving of the appropriate plates (lesson learned.) The party itself went well and a good time was had by all, thanks to Suzy's detailed planning. read more

She is definitely about the details, and created a light, summery menu that flowed from one course to the next.
