Having traveled extensively in Asia I've been able to try all types of Asian food and this is definitely Americanized Thai and I totally understand why. My wife loved it and I thought it was bland and not spicy at all. The chicken in the Pad Thai was under seasoned and relied on the noodles for any flavor but the shrimp were nicely cooked. The best thing we ate were the curry chicken puff pastries, they were delicious. I'm not saying this is bad food, just not a WOW factor when you eat it. read more

In 2020 it appears this amazing chef caterer switched over to a micro kitchen for locals. I found it via NextDoor and thought - why not try it? Best darn Thai food I've ever had. Some of it was new to me. All of it was authentic, fresh and I've learned what Pad Thai really tastes like. No-cost delivery! Great food! Pad Thai fresh and tasty, Yellow curry yummy. Beats most Thai restaurants in quality and flavor. Of course, menu is limited, but haven't had any bummers yet. Prices equivalent to restaurants with delivery service is such a great service, plus supporting our neighbors and local small business. Beyond my expectations! We hired Chef Benz for my sister's bachelorette weekend. First of all, Benz was so helpful leading up to the event. She was responsive, answered all my questions, and provided recommendations on the dishes. She is also very accommodating since we did have a girl who is vegetarian. The day of the event... Benz and her fabulous assistant arrived early to get everything set up. Benz has such a sweet and friendly personality! It wasn't long before the whole house smelled fantastic. The food was absolutely incredible! There was not a single thing we did not love. Some of our favorites were the fresh spring rolls and the pad thai. And, as far as the dessert goes you NEED to try the Sweet Roti Paratha Pancakes - they are some of the most amazing things I have ever had! Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish! I cannot speak enough about how great Benz and her assistant were. We did a bachelorette party for 9 girls in an Airbnb in Palm Springs and the food was justs exceptional. The food was outstanding and there was plenty of it! You definitely will not be hungry afterward. On top of that, there were so many thoughtful touches that made the evening special. We hired Chef Benz to cook dinner for 13 people at our parents 75th birthday celebration at a home we rented in La Quinta. The entire experience went very smooth and all I had to do was decide on the dishes we would have. Chef Benz was very helpful in helping me choose the menu as well. I'm not very familiar with Thai food so she made some suggestions while keeping in mind our dietary preferences. The day of the event she arrived on time and got right to work. She brought the most beautiful centerpiece carved from fresh fruit and vegetables. She cooked the entire meal by herself in a timely manor, all while guests were occasionally talking to her and asking questions. The meal was delicious and all the ingredients were really fresh. Chef Benz even surprised us by making cupcakes for the birthday celebration which we were not expecting. She cleaned up so well you would never have known she was there. I was delighted with the result of using Cooking Thai by Benz to cater my dinner party for 14 at our Palm Desert home. The food was wonderful and my guests thought my dinner was so creative, different and delicious. I served buffet style as I had too many people for family style. Benz prepared everything fresh in my kitchen, arranged the buffet beautifully and had all the food presented at the requested time for seating of my guests. The response was wonderful. She is totally organized and very accommodating. She was helpful to me in planning the menu, accommodated a guest dietary requirement, and brought everything she needed to cook in my small kitchen. She even brings her own dishtowels and hand soap, so she didn't need to bother me for anything. It is fun to watch her cook - slice, dice, employ all the fresh ingredients she brought, and to manage the woks. The kitchen was immaculate when she was finished as well. Truly amazing meal! We were a party of eight and could not have had a better Thai meal. The appetizers of Chicken Satay, Shrimp on Lemongrass and Spring Rolls were out of this world and equally delicious were our entrees of Pad Thai, Chicken/Eggplant Curry and Ribs! Chef Benz is fantastic! We hired her to come over and cook at our vacation rental for 9 women. Chef Benz was very responsive before our meal and allowed me to choose which menu items we wanted to cook. We all love Thai food, and there were so fun items I'd never seen before. We wanted to have the meal be pretty interactive since we all love to cook and wanted to learn more about cooking Thai food. Chef Benz set up her things and then made the meal planning/cooking very interactive, telling us about tricks and techniques for each dish. She talked about which ingredients to use and where to find them. Chef Benz surprised us and made us an additional appetizer and also lemon bars for dessert with her home-grown lemons. It was a real treat and all the food was delicious. At the end, Chef Benz did a very thorough clean up, and also left us with many leftovers. We loved her food and also her company! Chef Benz came to our Palm Springs rental home where she cooked an amazing meal for my husband's 40th birthday. There was more than enough food, it was so good we kept the leftovers for breakfast and for extra meals that week! She worked with me to create a custom menu and provided a cooking demo of one of the dishes. My husband and I are Thai and I was worried the food might not be authentic, but it was delicious!
