Here's the Google review I wrote…read morefor the misdiagnoses that ultimately cost Taz his life! *It is imperative that you read this recent development if you take your pet / are a customer of the Bedford Veterinary Medical Clinic, Oolitic, IN! #BreakTheCycle --- I brought my 15-year-old dog, Taz, to the Bedford Veterinary Clinic 6 months ago after noticing unusual symptoms-- a growing skin tag on his neck and dark spots under his skin. A blood test was performed- and there seemed to be a lack of care and attention to detail as he rushed to an analysis - where he confidently placed my dog on a thyroid medication, assuring us that was the only thing it could be. No additional blood tests nor anything more than a cursory glance was performed but instead, he was placed on thyroid medication without further investigation. Late last week, Taz returned with urgent concerns: he became lethargic early in that week and had also stopped eating. During the visit, the veterinarian checked his temperature, heart rate, and teeth, then concluded he was "fine." His condition was again attributed to age, and he was prescribed pain medication for a five-year-old injury and sent home. His condition did not improve overnight. The very next day, I took Taz to another veterinary clinic. Upon arrival, staff immediately recognized signs of serious illness at intake--his eyes and ear tips were yellow. Testing quickly confirmed end-stage liver failure, and imaging revealed a large tumor encasing his intestines, pressing on his kidneys and liver, and causing significant pain. With no viable treatment options, euthanasia was the only humane choice- when the day prior he was diagnosed as "fine" from the Bedford Veterinary Medical Clinic! I cannot help but believe that earlier diagnostic testing--either six months ago or a following visit- could have identified these issues sooner and potentially changed the outcome. Instead, repeated assumptions about age delayed critical care! Because of this experience, I will not recommend or return to this Clinic! My dog suffered & my family is now left brokenhearted with a bill for treatment that failed to provide care when answers were most needed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody They were callous and they were cold, and they never once followed up on pearl. I always have anxiety dropping off my pets, but I will absolutely go back! Finnegan, my cat, can have strong opinions about things, but he did great! I decided to give Bloomington Pet Pals a call. They looked legit, and the prices were cheap enough. First, they scheduled a visit to come meet the cats and receive any special care instructions. Ann came equipped with catnip toys and treats, which was very appreciated. My cats are still playing with the toys she brought, five months later. While I was away, she treated the cats to a wet food Christmas dinner and sent an email to let us know that everything was fine, and even included a couple pictures. In short -- I highly recommend their service. My cats are young and don't have any special needs, but the Pet Pals are capable and passionate people who can certainly be trusted.

Against my better judgement but because I believe in second chances, I made an appt for 10am today. I arrived 8 minutes early and rang your side door doorbell - repeatedly, knocked - repeatedly, and though I know you both could hear me and see me (it's a Ring doorbell) with a dog in my arms, a dog you've been grooming for YEARS, you did not answer. Your staff advised me when I asked if you heard me at your side door that you "don't open the door before the mall opens unless it's an early appt". [SEE PHOTO] But that's not what your sign out front says and with a dog in my arms, you could easily assume I'm not there for unrelated business. I've absolutely had it with the rudeness and continued lack of professionalism. Grooming is a luxury service and I'd rather drive an hour somewhere else than to be treated so poorly again.
