BloomingPaws - One of our golden oldies enjoying a daycare celebration

I will never take my animals to BloomingPaws Clinic Resort Spa in Bloomington ever again and I do…read moreNOT recommend them either. Saturday I got the daily picture update from them (that I had to pay extra for mind you ) and noticed Thor had a little poop on him. Nothing strange because Thor is notorious for rolling in poop so I didn't think anything of it. Monday morning 2 DAYS LATER I picked him up and he smelled terrible and was COVERED in poop (more than in the pic Saturday). I even made a comment about him having stuff all over him and asked what he got into and they said, "Probably everything" and left it at that. So he spent 2 days with poop on him and no one did anything to clean him up. We immediately took him to get a bath and Thor was wimpering and whinning the whole time. The groomer pointed out that his neck was completely rubbed raw down to his skin with fur missing. When we dropped him off they make us take his collar and leash so they used one of theirs on him while he was in their care. We immediately called them and was told a manager would call us. 10 minutes later we got a text message from them (not a call) basically saying this was not the standard they strive for. I told them they needed to call me because a text message is not it. The manager called and reiterate the same thing as a text and even went as far as to say that the reason his neck was raw was because they had to spray him down a few times and when it gets wet under a collar that can happen...if you KNOW this can happen "to a basset hound" why would you not dry them off to prevent the skin from becoming raw and a possible infection?!? Also, we have boarded him and taken him to Doggy Daycare numerous times before and never ONCE have we ran into this issue so don't feed me that bullshit. The manager did offer a complimentary bath and an exam on the house for Thor but if you think for one second I am ever trusting you again with my animals you've lost your damn mind. We took him to have him checked out at a vet we trusted 1.5 hour away to ake sure he didn't get an infection on his neck. Today (Thursday) I spoke to another manager and the interaction was ridiculous. First she started the conversation by asking what I think they could've done differently and then blaming the entire thing on "miscommunication" instead of acknowledging that they 100% neglected Thor while he was in their care. I got a partial refund after I asked about compensation but they have also since blocked me on Facebook after I tagged them in a post about our experience. Both managers response to this was disgusting and lacked any credibility. They are 100% trash and I do not recommend anyone send their animals there.

First of all, I want to say that the veterinary side is one my friends have had good experiences…read morewith, but they have dogs. Not cats. I took my cat in to be seen because he was fur mowing, and I wanted to know how to prevent that so he didn't have to live the rest of his life coned. This was quite some time ago, but I've since decided this may be important for other cat owners to consider. When we (Me, my husband, and our cat) initially entered the building, we were brought back to a room and waited to let him out of his carrier. When someone walked in, a vet tech I presume, she was gentle and very loving with our cat. Why the one star? After she left, it was not her who treated my cat. Instead walked in this doctor that immediately made my cat flick his tail. When I asked what we could do, she lied to me about there being no way to skin test my cat (you can do skin scrapes, I know because I brought him to another vet). She then said she needed to do 500 dollar blood work instead. She said she had found fleas despite us using a preventative, and instead of her suggesting a stronger one she sent us home with an anti itch moose that didn't work. We didn't do the blood tests because we knew something was off, especially when she brought in a small rag to hold my cat down for a vaccine (he is a huge cat) and he ended up clawing her and she lifted him by the scruff (not healthy for a 17 pound cat, btw! Yes, that is his healthy weight. He is tall!) We brought him to arlington, who not only gave us a strong flea preventative, but sent us home with actual medicine (steroids) to help him heal any infection he had gotten from prolonged fleas. Every since then, he has been healthy and not itchy. No thanks to bloomingpaws for that.

If you like being called a liar with a lot of attitude, I guess here is perfect for you. Ok I have a 12 year old dog that is having seizures when he goes inside buildings. The vet he usually goes to, he had 2 seizures just waiting for a medication refill and exam. The next vet that was cheaper, seizure within 5 minutes of being there. And then the emergency vet he had 10 there. Anyways theres a trend right?! So I need ONLY BLOODWORK done, that's it, hes on some medications that mess up your liver. Well I was told days before going there that they could help me and take nibbler blood from in the truck. If there was any trouble then we would have to bring him inside. They were going to do the blood draw and then they ask how long hes been on the meds. Close 4 weeks isnt ideal, needs to be 4 weeks or more... so we needed to come back in a week. Ok no biggie they said they'd still take blood from nibbler from outside. (Had my dash camera going so it recorded this whole thing.) Next appt. Lady was super rude coming out to talk with us first off. Lady said shes goin gto take nibbler inside to go so an exam and bloodwork. I told her blood is supposed to be taken from out here because of the whole seizure thing. She made sure to tell me no that's not how things are done, and proceeded to talk down to me and very rudely also. I asked her if she would go alone of the girls inside or even the vet about it, because I spoke with a lot of people there. She rolled her eyes everytime I talked, and she went inside to ask. 45 minutes go by. Were sitting curbside, its 80°+and climbing. We were sitting in the bed of the truck, but nibbler was getting way to stressed because they were clearly ignoring me. No other vehicle was there either, just my truck. Moved nibbler into her ac on full blast to chill him out. Finally get a phone call- they coudlnt be bothered to come talk to me again, they talked with everyone else when they were out there. It's the vet herself telling me she never said she would take blood from outside, and how she had the girls talk to me last time about having to bring him inside. I tried talking but she wouldnt let me. Told me that it is against something to take bloodwork from the vehicle. I finally was able to talk and tell her again about he seizures, and I'm not forcing him to have a seizure going inside a building, and how I have the conversation from the girl last time I was there on my dash camera, she straight up said sure you do maam. Sure you do. I asked her why would I drive an hour for you guys to do the same thing my vet was going to do?! You guys told me you would take his blood from my truck. And if there was a problem THEN we would discuss options. But whatever. Being called a liar from another money hungry vet is my last straw. They want my dog to have a seizure so I'll have to pay more money for the visit then. It's a good couple hundred dollars extra once he starts having a seizure. I know this because its happened 3 times now. I'm not harming my dog because you want to harm him then fix him. You are a disgusting vet. I had someone who used to work with you guys call and verify that you guys would take his blood from the truck, you guys even told her yes and for me to just call. Did you forget about that? Would not ever recommend. Full of liars and deceitful people.
