I am picky about cupcakes and I think that Suzybee's does it right. Great amount of frosting/cupcake ratio, and the icing is not too sweet as to overpower the cupcake but still delicious. The cake is moist and made me want more. I had the chocolate with buttercream cupcake and the one that looks like a ho-ho (can't remember it's name) and they were both delicious. We had the cake balls, too. They were okay, but very small and a little too sweet for my taste. I will definitely be back, though, because those cupcakes are calling my name. The girl behind the counter wasn't super friendly, but she wasn't rude and that's not all that important if they make a great product. They have great frosted cookies but they are pricy. I ordered a baptism cake for my daughter's baptism and it came out looking great. My issue is that the cake doesn't come in a real box. There is no lid on the box. What if it is raining?!?! Maybe they put Saran Wrap on top?? I was shocked to see this and had to go home and cover it so it wouldn't get stale for the next day. I used my LivingSocial voucher to order a birthday cake for a friend--I got a 8-inch 2-layer cake (red velvet), with butter cream frosting, added a layer of mini cupcakes to top it off (carrot), all decorated in white, purple, and yellow. IT LOOKED AMAZING!!! With the cake, the base was white, had alternating purple/yellow fondant balls on the edge, they wrote "Happy Birthday" on the side, the cupcakes were alternating in purple or yellow frosting, and it was all finished with edible glitter! I was impressed! I ordered the cake via e-mail, and Kristyna did an awesome job working with what I wanted. Plus = staff there is very polite and nice. Unfortunately, there were some downsides--they did not have a box to fully fit the cake in, so we had to make a large box out of 2 small boxes, then tape them together. We ordered a cake for my son's graduation party last week. It was a 2 tier cake to feed 40-50 people and I asked for a lot of personalization items so I understand the $312 cost. The cake was very well made and decorated. The white cake on the bottom was pretty dry but the chocolate cake on the top tier was really good. The worst problem was when we picked it up, they put it in an uncovered box and said they never put lids on them or use a box that covers the whole cake. I asked if there was anything we could just cover it with because we were traveling with it to College Station and I didn't want it to get damaged (it was expensive after all) and didn't want dirt or anything getting on it. For sanitary reasons, it seems like sending an uncovered cake out the door isn't right. It's borderline gross. I looked up cake boxes on Amazon and seems like a box for about $8-$10 for a $312 cake would be something they could spring for. I've never ever walked out of a bakery (or grocery store) with an uncovered cake. The clincher was as we loaded it in the back of the car and secured it so nothing got on it and it didn't get on anything, my husband and I both got icing on our nice clothes we were wearing for graduation. We cleaned up only to get it on us again when we unloaded the cake in College Station. I won't buy a large cake there again and it's a question I will ask other bakers from now on. Hoping my dress comes back from the dry cleaners without the icing spots on it! read more

My husband and I were craving sweets Halloween weekend so I stopped by to pick up an assortment to try one Saturday afternoon. Slice of Almond Cake - It was definitely wedding cake! It tasted moist, fresh, with a super sweet icing with just enough cake/icing ratio. Really liked this one! I can only imagine what they can do with chocolate. Dirt & worm chocolate cupcake - Chocolate cupcake with chocolate mousse icing rolled in oreo crumbs and a gummy worm on top. It was good as well, little dry but we ate the cupcakes a day later which might have something to do with it. Eyeball Red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing - Good red velvet with an even better cream cheese icing. Zombie red velvet cake pops - First off, when you bite into it, it did look like 'brains'. Husband loved it! He did say it had a little too much fondant. Overall, I loved the sliced cake which was my favorite. The cupcakes were good as well. The owner said that most of their cakes tastes just like their cupcakes, so I grabbed several cupcakes to test and some just for fun. Their Strawberry cupcake was mediocre, but the Eggnog, Peppermint Bark and Red velvet weren't very good. All of them were really dry and the flavors weren't there. As for the truffles, they were disappointing as well. We had the Chai spice and Almond Amaretto. Out of all 6 items, none of them were good enough to get me to come back. What a great place! I have been looking for a great dessert place out in the Cypress area and have found it. The cupcakes are beautiful and tasty. The item that has won me over are the cake truffles. They are so cute and the perfect size. Some other places taste a bit stale but Suzybeez's has found the right balance. Follow them on FB and you'll get updates on sales and see pics of all the awesome cakes. That is a talented group of people. My kids wanted me to mention the cannoli's and that they love them. First of all, I came in to make a request to make a cake for my sister's birthday. I was recommended to come here based on another bakery that could not do a shape cake (Take the Cake). Since it wasn't that far, I decided to make a drive down here. Now I know I didn't have an appointment, but the place was completely empty and the cake designer refused to come out to even say hi. Instead the cashier went back and forth when I had questions regarding the particular design I wanted. In any rate since I never heard of this place, I decided that I would taste the 2 (one red and one white) cupcakes to get an idea of how the cake would taste. This is before I even looked at Yelp which was a bad idea because I would have saved $3.25 per cupcake. Both cupcakes were so dry it wasn't even funny they were literally crumbling into pieces before it even reached my mouth. I was so upset that I was given poor service and then on top of that paid for the sorriest cupcakes I had ever tasted (I could have gone to Crave at that price). That I decided I would not make my cake with them. I hope this company fixes there dry cupcake situation cause clearly I'm not the only one that feels this way. After doing some comparison shopping for specialty cakes I stopped into Suzybee's just to get a quote on a cake. I made the right decision. I was greeted right away two very nice young ladies. I had already designed what exactly I wanted my cake to look like and within seconds of seeing my rendering, one of the ladies said they could absolutely do what I wanted. I was pleased with the service and price I was quoted so placed my order on the spot. Several days later when I picked up my cake I was absolutely thrilled with the quality of their work. My guests all complimented how good the cake was and how the frosting was not overly sweet. I had ordered a 1/4 sheet and the cake is taller than other 1/4 sheets you normally see. You definitely get your money's worth. As the other reviews have stated they sell cupcakes and other sweets on a walk-in basis. They even have sugar-free! Purchased four regular sized cupcakes - all different flavors- for a birthday . They were all SO dry it was ridiculous. No one finished them. The frosting on three of them had a coconut flavor which is odd since I declined the "mounds" cupcake and chose white chocolate , strawberry and vanilla. No where is it written about a black out. I understand that it is too busy to place an order but to tell me I cannot use it on what is in the store is bad customer service. Unprofessional! I've been going here for a few years, and this is first time I've dealt with poor customer service. I had to make 2 trips since they didn't have my cake order correct initially. Upon my return, the sprinkle layer at the bottom of the cake was jagged and had peaks in various spots, had missing spots, & clearly not uniform. When I asked to correct it, I was told that was the way it was in the picture I provided. Lies! I pulled up the picture & of course it wasn't like that. Tom, I believe it was, told me he was tired of messing with the cake & that it's a $12 cake. He said he didn't want to work on it anymore, and I didn't bring up that problem the day before. Well Tom, it's a $15 cake and if it was a $2 cake I would still expect professional work. The sprinkle issue was not a problem until you corrected it to make it taller per the sample picture provided initially. Furthermore, I ordered a white cake board, and they gave me silver. Tom told me oh there is not a white cake board in that size. Should I have been told this before I picked up the cake like when I ordered it? Or did y'all just mess up again? I was refunded the money for the cake but wow what a way to aggravate someone over a SIMPLE smash cake. Will never do business with them again. Btw there was some random splotches of pink icing on bottom portion of the cake. I had no pink whatsoever on my cake. It's for a boy. Just sloppy work altogether. read more

Katie (hope I spelled that right) and her team met our challenge and did a great job on our daughter's and son-in law's wedding/groom cake. We met with her rep at the store and he led us through the choices available (size, tiers, etc). While they were a little pricey, they more than made up for that by providing a delicious pair of beautiful cakes that added a great touch to our post-wedding event. Although they were closed on the day of the event (Monday), they provided exceptional and unexpected service by coming in to deliver the cake on time (as scheduled), bring it inside and add some great finishing touches... despite the fact it was an off-day for the team. The rest is history. Three tiers... three different flavors on the wedding cake. Awesome. The groom's cake rocked as well. The icing on the wedding cake was nice and thick and we thought it was amazing as designed. Kudos to the chocolate tier. WOW! Talk about unrivaled. Simply delicious. I have had many cakes from Suzybeez and have always been more than impressed with the cakes. My most recent cake was for my daughter's 17th birthday, I gave them a picture and they made a cake that looked even more beautiful than the picture and the flowers were edible. Not only that but it tasted incredible! It was triple layered and so moist.
