I signed up with Svetness two months ago and the experience so far has been more than I could have hoped for. I had an initial consultation with Svet (the owner) and we discussed what my fitness goals were and discussed the plans they offered. One of the best things I liked about Svetness was that they offered personal training at customer's home. That was very important to me. He was very clear regarding both the company's and my obligations under the agreement and gave me ample time to ask questions regarding the company and contract. He was very pleasant and thorough. After signing the contract, he told me that I would be receiving an e-mail from my trainer within 2 days. Later that same day, I received an e-mail from my trainer, Georgi. We setup the initial session for the following Monday. Georgi was prompt for the first session (and all others since). We discussed my goals and he asked me more in-depth questions regarding my current fitness level, previous fitness experiences and medical history. Then he had me do some basic exercises so he could access what I was currently capable of handling. Georgi did not judge and gave the right amount of encouragement. The session went very well and we finalized the workout schedule for the remainder of the weekly sessions. He accommodated my personal schedule and were able to set up consistent times for each of my three weekly sessions. The best thing that I like about the workout sessions is that each session is totally different. They are never boring. Georgi has a great attitude and adds humor to the workouts. He also asks how I am feeling before we start and if my knee is sore or shoulders are hurting, he adjusts the workout he planned so that I don't further aggravate the sore areas. Another good thing about Svetness and Georgi is that you don't need to have a lot of equipment to have a great workout. Svet told me at the beginning that the only equipment I would need is an exercise/yoga mat. Subsequently, I purchased a small set of dumbbells and exercise bands ($70 total). Georgi takes the equipment I have and creates challenging and effective workouts for me with what I have. He also creates workouts for me to do on days where we are not meeting (my cardio days). I am human and there are cardio days where I don't have the time to do them. He understands that I have personal obligations and doesn't make me feel bad when life gets in the way of a workout. In the two months I have been working out with Georgi, I have lost 18 pounds and feel a lot better than when I began working out. I am stronger and my endurance has increased way more than I thought it would in such a short period of time. I owe a lot to Georgi and Svetness for what I have achieved and what I will achieve in the future. I read a lot of other reviews about Svetness and I saw some that were great and some that were not so great. All that I could say when it comes to working out with a personal trainer is that realize they need to have consistent business in order to make a living at this (thus the need for a contract). The customer needs to do an honest assessment of their current schedule and financial situation. If they are not certain that they have the time or financial resources, they should avoid signing a contract that requires this level of commitment. I am fortunate, I do have the time and financial resources. I asked all the questions before signing the contract. I'm copying and pasting the demand letter my attorney sent Mr. Zurkov and his legal counsel on record on 7/12/2017. If you need to work with this "company', be prepared to litigate when they fail to fulfill their obligations or provide a refund. In this case, I had to hand this matter over to my legal counsel and after facing a potential lawsuit which we were prepared to (and are still ready) to file, they chose to provide a refund. Choose to do business with this company at your own risk. Dear Mr. Zurkov: This firm represents Anil Karmel. Please direct all future communications regarding this matter to me. On April 27, 2017, Svetness Corp. ("Svetness") and Mr. Karmel entered into a Personal Training Services Agreement ("Agreement") (Attachment A). The Agreement requires Svetness to provide qualified personal trainers to meet with Mr. Karmel for sixteen (16) training sessions per month. Svetness advertises to the public that it will "work around your schedule" and, in Mr. Karmel's case, agreed that it would provide the sessions at xxxxx in xxxxx, Virginia. Svetness has breached the agreement by: (1) failing to provide qualified personal trainers; (2) failing to provide the trainers at the agreed location; and (3) failing to provide the trainers in accordance with the client's schedule. Furthermore, Svetness has refused to "work around" Mr. Karmel's schedule to enable him to receive the sixteen (16) sessions per month that Svetness is obligated to provide under the terms of the Agreement. Mr. Karmel notified Svetness of its breaches on numerous occasions. For example, on May 14, 2017, Mr. Karmel sent an email to Conrad Rodearmel and James Mizelle stating that Svetness's trainer failed to appear at, or was significantly late to, scheduled sessions. On June 2, and again on June 12, Mr. Karmel notified Mr. Mizelle that his assigned trainer had failed to show. In each instance, Svetness failed to cure its breach of the Agreement. In fact, Svetness has expressly admitted that it has been unable to meet its contractual obligations on certain occasions because it lacked sufficient trainers. Svetness's numerous failures to perform under the Agreement excuse Mr. Karmel from making any further payments to Svetness. Accordingly, this letter also serves as Mr. Karmel's notice of cancellation of the automatic payments he authorized under the Recurring Payment Authorization Form dated April 27, 2017 (Attachment B). Mr. Karmel has notified his bank and credit card that no further payments to Svetness are authorized. To date, Mr. Karmel has paid Svetness $2,880 for forty-eight (48) sessions. Due to Svetness's breaches of the Agreement, only 16 of these sessions actually occurred. As a result, Mr. Karmel has overpaid Svetness $1920. Because the Agreement has terminated for cause, a refund of this amount is appropriate under Section 3. Please remit this amount to me, made payable to Mr. Karmel, immediately. Failure to issue this refund by July 14, 2017 will constitute grounds to seek legal remedy. read more

This was my first time using a personal trainer. My kids, aged 9, 12, and 15, and I wanted to prepare for a hike across the Grand Canyon. We interviewed several trainers and hired Svetness in the end because 1) they required a 2-day a week minimum commitment - they didn't want to invest in us unless we were willing to make a serious commitment; 2) they offered meal planning guidance to coordinate with our training goals; and 3) they have a team of trainers so if one trainer wasn't a good fit personality-wise or not compatible with our busy family schedule, then there was always someone else to try. We were nervous that it might be too intense for us as becoming body-builders is not really high on our list of desired life-time achievements, but I can honestly say that misconception couldn't be farther from the truth. Over the course of a year we worked with 3 different trainers - all of which were great! They each had a different approach but we saw noticeable results with each. They all did a fabulous job of accurately assessing where we were physically and gradually build a plan for us so that we would improve our strength and endurance. The workouts were varied, so we were never bored, and they required us to use and build different muscle groups over time, fluctuating between strength conditioning and cardio. All of the trainers were WONDERFUL with the kids - modifying exercises so each of us could succeed and advance at our own ability level - and they kept it light and fun! Let's be clear, they worked us hard - oftentimes the kids and I would compare notes the next day about how sore we were! But the trainers were ALWAYS encouraging and never demeaning, no matter how out of shape we were or how much we struggled with an exercise. Worthy of note: we chose the 2-day-a-week commitment and made it a priority to exercise at least 3 additional days each week, which certainly contributed to our progress. With 30-40lb backpacks, we hiked across the Grand Canyon in 100+degree heat with ease. The kids improved drastically in their sports (baseball, basketball, and field hockey). We ran a 5K together (a first for all of us!) and made decent time. We weren't as sick this past year and have had more stamina in general. And as an added bonus, we have grown closer together as a family. This whole training thing has been a great experience for us - so much so that we have decided to continue with a second year with Svetness. Right now our training goal is just general fitness, with an emphasis on the things that will help the kids with their sports, but we are actively thinking about what our next physical challenge should be! read more

*Beware of Svetness Fitness: A Cautionary Tale of Poor Service and Unethical Practices** I started my fitness journey with Svetness Fitness on August 10, excited and hopeful, signing a contract with a representative named Jay. Initially, my impressions were positive; the trainer I was paired with was competen. However, my experience quickly deteriorated when I faced a serious health crisis at the beginning of September, which led to my hospitalization. I contacted Svetness immediately to inform them of my situation, clearly stating that I could no longer continue my workouts due to severe health issues. Despite my circumstances, dealing with their customer service became a marathon of inefficiency. I spoke to at least five different representatives, each promising to send the necessary paperwork to cancel my contract, but to no avail. My health did not improve, and by January, I was facing major surgery. Again, I reached out to Svetness, urging them to formally end my contract. Despite providing a letter from my treating physician outlining my diagnosis, they hesitated and even attempted to continue charging me. Their reluctance forced me to threaten legal action, which finally prompted them to send me a settlement agreement. I signed this agreement in January 2024, hoping that would be the end of it. Shockingly, as of April 2024, Svetness tried to charge me again and started harassing me about payments. Their billing department is virtually unreachable, and the representatives I manage to speak with seem completely clueless about my situation because key personnel, like Victor, are never available to resolve these issues. I am sharing this experience as a stern warning to others: do not sign anything with Svetness Fitness. Their handling of my case has been nothing short of unethical. I am considering further legal action to address this ongoing nightmare. Please think twice before getting involved with this company--they have proven themselves untrustworthy and incapable of managing serious customer concerns. Shady business practices, stay away from them! I enrolled in the 9 months program and I still had many sessions left before my contract was over which they initially said it is possible to rollover, they still charged me for another month saying I was required to cancel 30 days before getting charged again. I still had more than 8 sessions left and was charged again for another 8 sessions, similar case to the one mentioned here in the thread. Not sure why they would do that even after mentioning to them to not add more sessions before I had more than a month of sessions left. The same thing was communicated to my trainer who himself forwarded the message to Svetness. When I looked and tried to talk to my account manager I found out there was none and within the account manager contact details they mentioned the name of customer service and standard phone number. They took away my account manager who was assigned to me initially midway during my contract and didn't even inform me that I do not have any account manager anymore. Please treat your clients as someone who is more than just a signature on the contract and be clear, responsive and transparent to them when they reach out to you with some concerns. Don't play with the words, charge unfairly and later threaten them for the wrong payment charged on the credit card which was then cancelled by the customer. The team at Svetness is fantastic. The initial conversation was helpful and informative, and I was not pressured into any upsells or additional services. The rep I spoke to (Ryan) genuinely seemed interested in my preferences and tailoring an offer to what I needed. He even followed up patiently until I finally got around to submitting my paperwork. Initially I was assigned a trainer who had some scheduling issues, and with one text to Ryan, I had a reply from the team and a new trainer assigned within a day. The trainer I was assigned (Ken) has been the perfect blend of patient, demanding, and encouraging. I look forward to my sessions as a highlight of my week and I already feel like I'm learning and progressing faster than I would have on my own. He's even helping me to maintain my nutrition goals. The nutritionist I spoke to (Daniela) gave me some great strategies to build out a regimen that would fit into my daily activities and be sustainable while providing sufficient nutritional support for my recovery between sessions. And the partnerships/discounts Svetness offers are pretty cool. Overall, it has been a exceptional experience, and if the rest of the team at Svetness is anything like the folks I've worked with, it's a pretty amazing group. 10/10, would recommend. read more

We are more than two months into our twice weekly work-outs with Svet and feel that it's well worth it. My wife and I have tried a lot of things to get us motivated to exercise regularly but now feel that we have found something that works for us. That is, someone coming to our house and basically forcing us to work out! We love it that even though this was primarily for my wife, he talked me into joining the work outs and does not charge extra for two people even though he has to design two different programs, one for weight loss and another for muscle building. As a bonus Svet has been wonderful at keeping our one and three year old boys distracted so we can get through the sessions. The workouts are varied and intense, and for me even more effective that P90X because I have someone there guiding and giving feedback. We are also members of XSport Fitness and love the classes they have there, but they don't come to our house when we are tired and get us to work out :) My wife and I have decided that Svet's in home personal training is going to be a permanent addition to our exercise regimen. read more

Had a bad experience with this company. Svet is not a good company for anyone. They reach out to you and like always they PRETEND to have your best interests in mind. However, this is just not the case. Once you are about to end your contract they stop answering the phone. This is obviously done on purpose and this is actually bad for their business. It should be in THEIR best interest to keep all clients satisfied, even after the contract ends. Believe the rest of the reviews that have one star. I beg you. Don't become a victim to their poor business practices. Maybe they are not thinking ahead. Maybe this works for them because they are not counting on a "return" customer. They are looking to see who else they can get their banking information from. They possibly see an abundance of potential customers out there and can't care less about their current or past customers. Bad for business. Darius was very enjoyable to work with. He was pleasant, professional, punctual, easy to communicate with, organized, thorough, and knew how to push me enough to help me achieve my goals. I had weekly sessions with Darius and during each session I sweat more than ever before, even though I was only weight lifting and in a cool basement. Darius was very knowledgeable about how to perform the exercises correctly, how to adjust them if necessary, and how each exercise worked. He would write out a complete workout plan for the whole week and our session would go through all the exercises to ensure that I could do them correctly and was prepared for the upcoming week's workout routine. We did a lot of leg exercises and by the end my thighs had grown so much that I could barely fit into some tighter-fitting pants that I had. I enjoyed my training sessions with Darius and am grateful that we got to work together and that I was able to learn from him. read more

I have been with Svetness Personal Training for over a year. I had interviewed other trainers and the reason I went with Svetness is their commitment to fitness. Other trainers I had interviewed had certificates but they did not appear to live the lifestyle I am hoping to achieve. My trainer is Mahdi and I really enjoy our workouts. He's motivating yet tough. He keeps us on track and is inventive to keep the workouts interesting (I bore easily). I have a crazy schedule and Svetness was one of the only personal training companies that was able to accommodate it. I have resigned with Svetness because I thoroughly appreciate what they are doing! However, I have signed up at the personal training center rather than at home. The equipment is phenomenal and I feel less distracted (no worrying about laundry, phone calls, family, or dog). The time I spend at the center is "me" time and I feel like it is a much better workout. read more

I started training with Svet a couple of months ago and love it! He is pushes me just enough to get me to keep going without overdoing it. I usually give up pretty quickly and I was surprised with my progress. I was not only looking to get my self back into shape, but I also wanted to change my eating habits. I always struggled with random cravings and always gave in. He was able to help me with adjusting my diet and nutrition, providing information on different supplements and meal plans to keep me on track. Always a bonus!! Another thing I really liked was that we could either train at the gym at the community center or at my townhouse. They will really go where you want to go. Svet and his trainers know what they are doing and know a lot of great exercises, and you can tell that they love what they do! All in all I'm definitely giving a 5 out 5 and would highly recommend this team. read more

Shocking! I was told over a recorded Zoom sales call that I had 10 days to cancel the contract. I was also told if I wanted to cancel after this there would be a buyout fee of $130 or $150. I was pressured into signing the contract then and there and pay one month fee of $300. I tried to cancel a mere 4 days later and I was told I actually only had 3 days to cancel and I now had to pay a buyout fee of $300 and I was not entitled to any sessions, including the first month I had already paid for. What they are doing is illegal and MIS SELLING. I have asked them to listen to the call with their sales rep to confirm the information I was given at point of sale. They refuse. I have emailed multiple times and asked for a call but no one calls they just keep quoting a fee I never agreed to. I just want out and to never communicate with them again. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT with them. read more

I have been working out with trainers from Svetness PT since October and I have nothing but the highest praise for their customer service team's commitment to ensuring that I have the best possible experience and also my current trainer's expertise and knowledge. After 2 trainers who did not work out (1 left and 1 just wasn't right for me), Ashley really listened to my needs and wants and matched me with Charles Ruiz, who is literally the best trainer I have ever had (and I've had more than a few). He is creative, knowledgeable, pushes me hard- which is what I was looking for- and my sessions with him literally fly by- which is not something have ever said before about any exercise. I genuinely feel like he is helping me to actually accomplish my fitness goals and I'm super grateful. I initially signed up for a 6 month contract but wouldn't dream of stopping now! read more

These people are scum. they are just after your money. they will contact you endlessly and pretend to be a great company only to get a hold of your credit card or debit card. once that is done and you sign on the dotted line they stop communication. trying to get a hold of them is close to impossible. they don't respond promptly and you will only get to leave a voicemail. They will reach out only if they feel like it. and please don't forget to send them a CERTIFIED LETTER 30 days prior to your contract ending or else they will continue to charge you. look at section 12. they have their PO BOX there. trust me. never again with this company. Please look elsewhere. I did it due to the pandemic but now i just hope that one day they go bankrupt. they are scum. This is a great personal training gym with dedicated, motivated trainers! I trained with George who kicked my butt into gear every time I wanted to give up. I am in my mid 40's and nowhere near a body builder, but just wanted to learn how to train with weights and get a little leaner. George taught me how to do things the right way and which supplements work best. No selling game here like other gyms - just training. They have beautiful equipment and the place is brand new and super clean! The personal attention, knowledge and professionalism of the trainers is everything you want when seeking a trainer. The owner Svet is super friendly and responsive to anything you need. They can even train you at home - Jose is the man for the in-home training! Great experience. I am a 57 year-old woman who was stuck at a given weight, and out-of-shape. As a former athlete, I was discouraged by my inability to discipline myself to workout sufficiently to meet my fitness goals and weight goals. The trainer Svetness sent me, Giorgy, was personable, knowledgable, and tough/encouraging enough to help me make steady, solid improvements over the last three months. Giorgy has a seemingly endless number of exercises and workouts - no two workouts are the same - keeping each session interesting and challenging. I have been especially appreciative of his deep knowledge of nutrition, and timing of what to eat when. Having the ability to workout at my home, at times twice a week that work for both of us, has accelerated my progress so much that I have renewed my contract. read more
