In the middle of a dispute with this company. The contract is extremely stringent and not worth what you get out of it. I had a trainer assigned within the first 10 days. However, he was a no show without any prior communication to our first session. He said he had a family emergency. My instinct thinks it's a lie and the fact I didn't even receive a quick text cancelling doesn't help. Maybe I am wrong, time will tell! However, I know the quality does not meet what I expected. Yes, they do offer training so not technically a scam but they do the bare minimum. I've heard stories of them underpaying trainers, and by the enthusiasm (lack thereof) displayed by my trainer (who I never had a session with) I think they don't pay adequately. Excellent IT service, going so far to schedule a zoom with me to help me login. Also I had a really lovely conversation when I was signing up referring to my goals and hopes. I do feel foolish for signing such a contract, so I thought I would share. Buyer Beware. They berate customers: I received a call from someone after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, it was almost like the police interrogating in order to confuse me enough to refute my claims- I refuse to deal with them and am only working through the BBB. It just seems unethical what they are doing. If you look through these reviews they berate customers here too! They use the contract as evidence within these replies, however no contract can make the unsatisfied claims of a customer null and void. I just get weird vibes from this company; liars. I think this company would work for people who have fitness experience maybe - but not beginners who have no clue about fitness or the fitness business. Sorry it didn't work out. Sale representatives lie to customers. You can cancel anytime but they don't tell you there is a buy out fee. Poor business model. Talk to trainer they not getting paid half of what my bi weekly payment to the company is and their pay is always messed up and not on time. They have facilities but paying customers can not use them so you have to pay for gym membership (extra cost) or buy equipment for your house (extra extra cost) on top of paying the $300 or more biweekly. I had a bad experience with Svetness. I did prepay for 3 months for over $2,000. The first trainer they assigned had no regular availability, and the 2nd trainer was only available at 5a. I lost interest after 6-7 sessions and wrote-off the $2,000 as a mistake and a lesson learned. To my surprise, Svetness then charged another $720 at the start of the 4th month--which they refuse to refund. While they have done nothing to earn this additional $720, they justify their action because the contract states they will auto renew unless I send an email cancellation to their billing department 30 days in advance. While that might be legally true, their charging me $2800+ for 6-7 sessions does not seem like a good business practice and warrants this 1-star rating. read more

I planned to start with Svetness personal training and while I had a very friendly conversation with Jayson - it was filled with fluff and soon to be broken promises. I never received the info to get the online program, 12 days in and payment already taken from my account I had not gotten a call about the nutrition program or trainer... when I reached back out to Jayson he asked that I give them some time (meanwhile my session will be "rolled over"). I don't like disorder. The place seems a bit disorganized and - while I had planned to just reduce my frequency - but am currently in the process of disputing the entire contract as they have not made good on their word, BUT continue to request $1040 per month from my bank (who is NOT HAVING IT). Sadly Jayson has blocked me after pretending to take this to the billing team to get corrected. He NEVER INTENDED to be fair, on time, or balanced in his approach. They just plan to get a signed contract and have THE CUSTOMER FIGHT for the rest of the promised deal. By the time a random trainer texted me, he noted he could do deals on the side and had an embarrassing history of training and website. After this - I simply requested to cancel (after 12 days of getting the run around). And now no one will reply. I have been blocked. This effort was terrible and while maybe not everyone has a bad experience... I'm still working through what to do BUT THERE ARE NO REPLIES, NO RETURN CALLS, AND NO SUPPORT. I wish I have read the reviews here before getting into a contract with this company. I signed a 1-year contract to help with my health after I was diagnosed with CANCER. The account manager at the time, Adam, told me I will not have issues terminating my contract early if needed due to my medical condition. 6 months later, I told the new account manager, Arturo, that I would need to end my contract because my symptoms have worsened. I was initially told by him I needed to pay 50% of the remaining months left in the contract (that's $1500!) and when asked what happens with the sessions I've already paid for (about $1000), he told me they're forfeited! I told him to show me where in the contract these are all stated and he said that this information is not in the contract because it was made to not be broken. WHAT?! When I told him it's because of my medical condition, he asked for a letter from my doctor which I provided and now they're telling me they need to charge me a 15% termination fee ($450). They made no mention of the sessions I've already paid for. I'M NOW LOOKING TO HIRE A LAWYER! I'm giving it 2 stars because I do feel that my trainer really did help me get stronger. Terrible experience with this company. Plainly said: They're quick at getting you to sign for a trial period membership, and slow at addressing customer services/billing questions/responses. They cheat customers in their fine print. Be sure to cancel your service way in advance or else they'll keep charging you even beyond your membership period. I started out in Thumbtack for training and they followed up with me at my appointed time which turned out to be a few months after my initial request time. They then setup an intake session a few weeks after to explain their mission and the service they offer. Once I agreed to 2 sessions/week for a year, my trainer reached out to me a week before my first session to introduce himself and get some basic information about my goals and how I want to achieve it. We agreed to a workout schedule and type of workout. Since starting my training I have seen results through Alejandro's energized coaching sessions pushing me to work as hard as I am able to reach my goal. He is able to give the impetus to push beyond my limits. Gotten great results through Alejandro's efforts and my dieting, even through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. read more

Other one star reviews will give you a general sense of this place. I lost nearly 30 sessions (at $60 a pop) because of this place's incompetence. Yup, that's nearly $2000 down the hole. I had FOUR different trainers over a less than one year period, each of whom were mediocre and kept leaving suddenly. I would then have massive gaps in training where I was still being charged for sessions that weren't happening (how can they happen if you don't even give me a trainer?). At the end of the contract when I was still owed the massive amount of sessions, they had the gall to try to assign a FIFTH trainer to me to cram in as many sessions as possible before they expired. I decided that the scheduling nightmare of working with their trainers (they have zero respect for your schedule and preferred workout times) and just general lack of progress I made with any of them made it not worth it. The nutritionist is nonexistent. The trainers are 19 year olds with no experience. This company is garbage. Please do not sign any legal documents with them. Please just invest in a class pass or gym membership and do your best elsewhere. Svet and whatever trainers that work for him should be ashamed of themselves. They are fully aware of what they're doing to their customers and seem to actively work to take money without providing services. For shame. read more

Can Not get out of contract! When I first signed up to work with Svetness I was truly motivated and excited. i met and spoke with some pretty awesome people. Even tho my first trainer was a nightmare, my second trainer and consultant are awesome people ( caring, funny and easy to talk to). then the nightmare... I was talked into training 3 days a week, someone called me and Instantly made the changes and charges over the phone. Then I began military orders ... I wrote an email to Svetness to terminate my contract did to my inconsistency based on my orders. They asked me to provide everything but my unborn child ( basically they denied my request). The local rep was able to suspend my account until my orders ended, However,Svetness immediately charged my account, no phone calls or questions asked. i disputed the charges with my bank. I received an email from Svetness not only asking for money for lessons I hadn't taken but also charged a $50 late fee and informed me that they will be sending a hefty bill to collection! Even tho I really enjoyed working with the local trainers... the company in itself I heartless and money hungry and will make getting out of your contract impossible! read more

I'm having a similar experience as many others, currently owed $720. Have had 3 trainers. Trainer 1 left the company because he wasn't getting paid. Had a lot of back and forth with Trainer 2, schedules weren't aligning, then he canceled a session 15 minutes before start time. He then said he was going to set me up with another trainer because schedules weren't working, never did, so then I had to reach out to get another trainer. Was assigned Trainer 3 who then went on vacation, never got a session. Trainer 2 reached back out for a second chance--nice guy, good trainer, but is always tardy due to parking. He no-showed on Wednesday. It is just NOT working out. I am now trying to get refunded. Seems basic--money was paid for services not rendered, right? I had a conversation with the billing manager, who actually read my own text messages to me about rescheduling sessions last week as "evidence" that they didn't need to give me a refund. Seriously. I reminded her of common sense: I set the schedule as the customer. She then quoted the contract saying all canceled sessions are credits, and they don't refund. I work in client service--if a customer isn't happy, we issue refunds all the time. It's basic good business. Very bad faith when you quote your contracts to keep your customers' money. You should earn your revenue on happy customers; if it's not working out, give it back. Which brings me to a larger point: they lock customers in with contracts and set up auto-pay, so if schedules don't align, they have your money anyway. They should auto-pay monthly on sessions COMPLETED--the trainers are only PAID when completed, so it's no cost to Svetness to refund unused sessions. Again, just very bad faith practice. Based on these Yelp reviews, many others would agree. Karen said she is escalating my account to upper management. I also found the COO on Facebook and DM'ed. So we will see what comes of this. And she is what made it even better. She was nice, energetic, with a smile and patient with what we can do and what we can't do. So sadly, I am in the same boat as the others. Signed on with Svetness for an in-home personal trainer in April. I got Andre who is an amazing trainer and with whom I developed a great relationship. So they're at 5 stars at this point. We had agreed on three times a week for a year. In May I quickly realized that with all my work travel, the most I could possibly do was twice a week. I emailed them to ask to change the terms to reflect that, and they said they would process it. In August I was still being billed at the 3X a week amount, so I called and emailed and they said that a guy had left and no one checked that email anymore, which was a lie, but fine. So they said they would change the contract and refund the difference from May. Got the new contract. Never got the refund. Work travel increased and I decided in October that It was a lot of money to spend for missing all those sessions, so I emailed and called and asked to quit. And nothing. I foolishly gave them my debit card, so I need to cancel my debit card to prevent them from pulling, but according to my bank, it might not even matter because Visa might give them the new account number. So avoid these guys. They grew too fast or something, but their management is terrible and impossible to deal with. ****Update 11/9/17 So it appears that there is a new COO at the company who is in charge of wrangling the billing and customer service issues. He called me and apologized and is working with me to issue my refund as well as suspend my account until I can find time to work out with Andre. Honestly, I had a great experience with their product (Andre) I just had a horrible experience with their administration. So I'm bumping my review back up to a 3 and hope that James follows through on his word. read more

I had personal training with Svetness in Virginia and the trainer was very good *****. But I cancelled due to my health condition. I gave 1 month notice and they charged again to my credit card 1 month after. I notify them to cancel but they did not. I disputed the charge from my credit company. Svetness said they were charged for chargeback fee from the credit card company for dispute and I have to pay the charge back fee $45 which is due to their fault. They said if not, collection agency will collect the money from me. This is a very bad business practice. It is very hard to cancel and they charge you fee after you cancel. To start I will say READ YOUR CONTRACT CAREFULLY!!! they have a strict policy that you cannot get out of after three days. My initial experience was a upbeat "salesperson" selling me a contract saying they would be with me through the whole process then they disappeared once I gave my credit card information and signed my contract. I was nervous and handed over to a svetness manager (Maria) who keeps up with me regularly and has fixed all the misunderstandings. I read the reviews and decided I still wanted personal training. I have the year long contract with two sessions a week. My trainer is Dennis and he is great! I work too much so my schedule is very hard to work around yet Dennis is very patient and let's me alter my times when needed he has all my workouts pre planned and helps me beat every goal we set each session. I need to lose weight and get my heart in shape, I have heart issues and diabetes. I am on my 4th week and have gained back my balance, gotten on a healthy diet, lowered my A1c and i am not out of breath with the slightest cardio anymore. I only gave four stars because the person who encourages you to sign up is overly excited with you and confident then drops you like a fly, doesn't warn you to go with a short contract to see how it fits before signing a big one. That made my starting experience stressful and I understood the bad reviews online. But I am confident I will renew with the way my training is going. read more

I got a reply they would help find another one. A week or so later asked how it was going and I replied that I'm still waiting on a trainer. It's been crickets ever since. I could get exact dates and reply but I just want to get the message out for anyone to not do business with this company. I've been with Svetness since October, and I really couldn't be happier. Personally, I think investing in your fitness and health is essential --as well having a trainer to make sure you are using the correct form, switching things up so you don't plateau, and overall educating you. My trainer, Georgi, has especially been a blessing. While I've been working and going to school full time, he has worked around my schedule to make sure I stay fit and ultimately motivating and pushing me to be my greatest. This kind of push, although originating in the gym, ends up pushing you in all areas. I have been working with Svetness for about 6 months now and over the course of time they have helped me change the lifestyle I had for years. As far as I remember I have always been overweight and never happy with my body. I had worked with several other trainers in the past where I used to live and none of them ever kept me as satisfied and as happy as I am today with my body. He took the time to come to my building and explain in person how things worked. I was introduced to Mahdi, who turned out to be the best personal trainer I have had until today. I got a customized work out and meal plan and started right away. Mahdi was very patient, professional and inspiring. He was a great motivation that helped me learn a lot about my body and healthy eating. If I had not moved to Europe, I'd still be working out with him for sure.
