Exceptional service all the way around. I visited the location in Waterford Township and I was welcomed by everyone as if I was a member of their family. I had my eye exam and then went out looking for glasses. I didn't see any that I liked so I was directed to their Bloomfield Hills store where I was equally greeted with warmth. I found the right pair of glasses and then wrote down the info and went back to the original store where Jennifer Seeley took care of everything and ordered them up. My husband and I had back to back appointments but they took us at the same time to make it easier. The first person that checked our eyes was great, very friendly and fun. We then moved onto the doctor and she was also great, again, very friendly and made the appointment fun. Next it was time to pick out glasses. That person was again, friendly and was patient with us as we made our selections. When the glasses were ready to pick up, we came in and again, treated by friendly people. There was someone in there that was unhappy with something but the person helping her was not swayed by the rudeness of the customer and kept her also friendly demeanor going. We had an appointment and got in well before then. We were screened (temp check) and just asked to wear our masks and were allowed to walk around to look at frames until our appointment time. Everything went smoothly. We made our selections and checked out and out the door we went! My frames came in REALLY fast! However I wasn't happy with them (I tried something new and did not like it) they got me right in and I was able to re-select some new frames. There was no hassle or pressure about keeping the ones I purchased. They totally understood and were great about it. She was the first Dr. that didn't make me feel crazy about the symptoms I've been having. She knew exactly what it was and was able to refer me to a ophthalmologist to get it taken care of. She also had great knowledge on eating for eye health and helping us with better nutrition information. She was great with my 6 year old...explaining what she was going to do before she did it and allowing him to ask any questions that he had. The staff was super friendly. The lady that helped me was knowledgeable about the prices of the glasses and what was covered by my insurance. She told me what the next steps would be and approximately how long it would take. I had an in-person eye exam yesterday at the Waterford office. I arrived 20 minutes early expecting a lengthy check-in and medical history assessment. I only waited 5 minutes before the optometrist called me in to start my exam. Zero paperwork; she took care of everything to minimize any cross-contamination. She was super-friendly and funny. Even though she had to do these exams a hundred times a month, she had an enthusiasm for the process that was refreshing. The technician who assisted me to choose my frames and then checked me out was likewise friendly, competent and enthusiastic to help. Last year I waited until the last minute to have my eyes checked, but this location accommodated me and my two sons. I was grateful. Now my yearly check is available at the end of the year, and again this year they gave us an appointment on 12/31 with no problem. I was a little frustrated and cranky, but the staff was very kind and helpful. They welcomed us into the store with a smile and everyone from the staff at the desk to the doctors was friendly and professional. They answered every question I had and provided positive feedback. All of the employees at this location are very helpful and friendly. The doctor is very professional and has a very warm and comforting personality. I usually interact with the manager most when I order my contacts or pick them up. I was a first time contacts wearer when I started coming to SVS about 6 months ago and the manager was very patient with me as he showed me how to put them in and take them out and also how to care for them. I've been coming to SVS in Waterford for a while and they are wonderful, Dr. Gentile discovered my lazy eye and pointed me in the right direction for a specialist and he's been helpful through the years with advice on how to make it as strong as I can as I get older. They were so helpful, professional, friendly. My 1st time wearing contacts. For 3 days I couldn't get 1 contact out. I called, and was told to see optometrist it would be a $60. charge. Come to find out, there was no contact in my eye! I must have dropped it as soon as I pulled it out! The optometrist went the extra mile & put dye in my eye to be sure. Since my previous eye doctor moved to a location quite a bit further away, I decided to try and find a new one that accepted our insurance. SVS was close and was able to help me quick and easy. They were very efficient and helpful, pleasant to talk to, and in less than an hour, I had ordered my 3 different prescription glasses (- distance, reading and sun). Pleasant experience for both exam and selection of new glasses. Was potentially looking for new glasses and maybe sunglasses. Suggestion from employee was to try transition lenses which I never considered. I'm going to give it a shot. He stated that if I don't like them, I have 45 days to get them changed. I came in with my 5 kids, 2 of which were getting exams. They got us in as soon as possible and after the exams they asked each of my kids which glasses they wanted and then said we were all set. They knew it would be very hard for me to sit there with my little ones while completing the glasses order. So she said she had it all covered and I didnt need to wait around for that. Loved the new eye doctor. I explained the distance I needed for me to see my monitor and work on papers in front of me. She explained my request was very doable. It is all about making me able to do my job without having a hard time seeing numbers. One of the make doctors was not as friendly about my choice.
