My parents sent me flowers for my birthday. It was an $85 purchase and a wonderful thought on their end but the end result was very disappointing. My parents had requested a purple flower arrangement and I could tell that they must have had a flower arrangement in their inventory that needed to be sold and they just stuck a few purple flowers haphazardly into the existing arrangement. The flowers looked already wilty and I knew would not last long...and two days later the arrangement already looks 75% dead. The other odd thing is that this thoughtful birthday gift arrived in a black vase...not shown with any of the arrangements on their site...sort of a downer for a birthday. In looking at positive reviews...it seems that larger purchases such as flowers for weddings, get much better attention. read more

The order of flowers were delivered to us by mistake. The issue why I am writing a Yelp review is being in the industry it is not the way you treat cut flower arrangements. Swaby's delivered to a wholesale greenhouse in 100 degree heat, under a sign stating do not leave plants outside, noted hours of operation (showing it was closed at 4PM-time of delivery) and a number to call if deliveries outside of set hours. The delivery person never called and left the arrangement outside in the heat, instead of returning to shop. When our crew arrived the next morning we found, dropped off to the correct address and called Swaby's. Only to be told that it wasn't their order that they were fulfilling for another florist. BEWARE before you use this florist for anything. read more

I received these flowers as an anniversary gift from Swaby's. My husband ordered them on on the same day which was the ONLY credit I will give to Barb. However, he ordered chocolates they were forgot. The bouquet he picked was nothing like the one I received. The roses were small, the vase was different and the arrangement for what he paid was very disappointing. Here is a picture, the flowers were brown on the edges when I received them. The first day. Barb seemed to give excuses for everything that wasn't right. If you don't have what's pictured the customer should be given that information. And if the bouquet is rushed and doesn't look perfect than the customer shouldn't be charged a dime. She offered to give a partial credit but as a business owner myself if the service provided is not exactly what the customer paid for than there is NO charge because it's not what you paid for. What i got was pink roses, yellow lilies, and greens. It looked nothing like what was supposed to be delivered. The site that i ordered through had great customer service so at least I didn't order directly through them or else i would have had to deal with them directly and they seemed to give quite a run around. Ordered a plant for a beloved family member's wake/ funeral. As we all know, anything from the florist can be rather expensive if you wish to send a gift of substance. Since this was for my Uncle, I was looking for something more masculine. I spoke with Barb and we agreed on a wood planter box. I paid almost $60 for flowers that look like they were thrown together and not very much "arranging" was done. The fraud and deception purported by these alleged florists leaves A LOT to be desired. Ordered a Christmas bouquet for my mom's birthday. The picture on the website was beautiful with lots of white flowers and a little greenery. When she received it the flowers were droopy and there was a lot more greenery than flowers. The bouquet did not look professional at all. My mom called to let them know that the quality was not as expected and she received a lot of attitude from the Flower Shop. The only resolution they gave was to replace with something else. She told them that she would think about it and let them know. When she called back to take them up on that offer they would not answer her calls. I sent a follow-up email letting them know that we were not satisfied with the condition of the bouquet and that I would like a refund and if they were welcome to come back and get the bouquet because it wasn't even worth displaying. I had a bouquet and some flowers for my wedding done at Swaby. When my mother-in-law and I met with the owner, we were impressed her knowledge and willingness to help us think through lots of options given what I was looking for wasn't available in August. She was friendly, helpful and the prices were reasonable. However, the day before my wedding, I received a call saying that the flowers for my table were smaller than we were hoping. She said not to worry as she would come and help set up and bring some other flowers as filler and make sure they looked pretty in the jars we were planning to put them in. I was not worried. When my wedding day arrived and I showed up, the flowers were a little small - which I knew - but also many were dead. They had been sitting outside in the heat. I wasn't sure why they would have been dropped off and left when there were plenty of coolers available? And if there was a question - I never received a call? There were also no other small flowers for filler as I had been promised. My bouquet was quite pretty. I think that at the end of the day my order was not big enough to be a priority for Swaby. read more

I ordered Prom flowers from this business because I didn't want "average" flowers from Jewel. I was willing to pay for a premium product. I selected the wristlet from their web site and went into the store to order. The lady at the desk was ok, not friendly but not rude. The wristlet on the web site was gorgeous and really full with 4 full sized roses and fillers. When I picked up the order they didn't show me the flowers that were in a closed box. I was anxious to see so I slipped off the ribbon at home. While the colors were comparable to the photo, the wristlet was made with 4 mini tea roses. It was pretty but Not as lush or gorgeous as the picture. It was Not worth the added expense. read more

I have done one phone order and one online order and was very happy with both. Both of my orders were urgent orders and Swaby's come through for me without charging any extra fees. Barb helped me with the flowers for my mother's funeral. I wasn't sure what I needed and she guided me through it and when I didn't know the answers she said she would call the funeral home for me. It meant a lot that she was taking this extra step for me. I didn't give her much to go off of color and arrangement wise but Swaby's did an excellent job. I ordered flowers over the phone last month to be delivered to a hospital patient. Service over the phone was rushed. The arrangement was pretty but had a lot of filler type flowers for the price I paid which was close to 70.00. If I wanted a quickly put together bouquet shoved in a glass vase I would have gone to one of the big grocery store chains. Also, why have photos of arrangements online and not have the flower inventory to create them? Disappointing. read more

Swaby's created an absolutely stunning and unique winter wedding bouquet for the bride, and lovely bridesmaid bouquets and corsages for moms, grandmoms and special ladies attending the wedding. Our venue was in Libertyville, IL and Barb delivered the flowers on Saturday afternoon. When we arrived at the venue to get ready for the ceremony, the flowers had already arrived and were waiting for us. My daughter and her bridesmaids were immediately drawn to her amazing bouquet. It was so beautiful and unique; perfect for her winter wedding theme. Barb helped a great deal in the planning, offering great suggestions after I shared pictures of what we hoped to receive and she made the final choice for the bridesmaids bouquets: beautiful Sahara roses which were gorgeous with the bridesmaids black lace dresses with nude colored underlining.
