Nice people and nice flowers but for the price paid (it was mentioned I was ordering a larger than average arrangement), I was expecting less green filler and more flowers. Attention to detail also lacking as the name was spelled incorrectly on the card even after re-confirming the spelling with a follow-up phone call. I also specifically requested that my message on the card not be in all caps. Both requests were not respected. When I called Shamrock Garden back, the man said that it was his system's limitation and that he could not do anything about the all caps. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time instead of sending the recipient flowers who had just lost his mother with a message as though I were yelling at him. As for the misspelling, he owned up to it and said he will do better next time. Don't think there will be a next time. I really wanted to like this flower shop as I try to support local businesses as much as possible. But I just didn't feel like I was being heard or treated like my business mattered. read more

Donna worked with both my mom and I to pick out flowers and make a nice arrangement. Donna respected my mom's budget and created a beautiful arrangement for her! She even added an extra stargazer lily because she knew it was my mom's favorite flower! My mom was so thrilled, and the smell of the 2 stargazers stayed with her the whole day! Donna added magnets to the back of the boutonnieres so that the men didn't have to puncture their suits -- nice touch! The whole process from start to finish was fun and stress-free! Horrible experience here. Ordered an arrangement on line to be picked up at their shop (did not realize that i ordered thru a 3rd party company) .. when I got there, the arrangment was AWFUL. It in no way resembled what I had seen on line. One of the employees actually said something along the lines of "that's what happens when you order on line". The owner however was very kind, and pulled up the picture on line of what I ordered, but no offer was made to make it similar. I refused the flowers and am currently contacting the 3rd party to be reimbursed. I will NEVER use this place again, for the poor cust service AND the horrid arrangement that was offered. This was my first flower purchase with Winfield Flower Shoppe. I had all of the flowers for my centerpieces at my wedding ordered through this vendor. I was a DIY bride on a budget and the florists here helped me work within my budget while still achieving the look I wanted. One of the flowers was unavailable from their normal supplier at the last minute in a specific color due to a harsh growing season. I was immediately notified and the florist found similar available styles and prices as a back up -- in the end she found another vendor to get the same flowers but the honesty and communication was much appreciated! The florists were great in preparing me for how to care and prep the flowers for the centerpieces too. I do not have a green thumb -- and the weekend of my wedding dropped below freezing but they stepped me through what I had to do and my flowers looked amazing the day of the ceremony/reception. i visited the winfield location, after seeing some pretty red jingle bells at the elmhurst location , where christmas decor was 50% off.. unfortunately, my friend got to them first, and i lost out, so i went looking for them in winfield. in elmhurst, they were 50% off= $5. i found two sets at winfield, and when they were rung up, and i questioned the price (7.5 each), i was told that they weren't christmas decor/ really????? a small issue, but you'd better believe i'll remember it, and probably not return to this location. read more

I was given a recommendation by venue where I recently got married. Through the whole wedding planning process I had heard to use "preferred vendors" from other venues and some only allowed preferred vendors at their venue. I pulled up to the location (Lombard) and it was this cute little flower shop, I walked in with my wedding planner and we were met by Natalie. I showed her pictures upon pictures, she suggested a few things and even flowers I absolutely hated! Now before I had completely shut down and walked out I listened and boy am I glad I did!!! I hadn't seen any arrangements and my wedding was approaching, so I'd email Natalie and she'd respond quickly and assure me everything would be great. I met her two weeks before my wedding at the new Winfield location and I left amazed at what she had pulled together! The flowers and greenery that I was so against made my arrangements absolutely amazing!!! I left my appointment ecstatic sending pictures to my planner because I couldn't wait to show her. Natalie not only made my centerpieces for my tables, she also made very simple yet elegant bouquets for myself and bridesmaids. I highly recommend being open to the process and suggestions after all, we all specialize in something different. I live in the city but would make the 45 minute drive to get any arrangements I may need in the future. Natalie is absolutely amazing!!
