I am in Ardmore for work and wanted to check out BBQ here compared to Texas Griling and was very happy with the BBQ, sides and service! The brisket and chicken are really tasty. Plus they offer you a variety of different BBQ sauces. I'm all about the sides and here they offer you an impressive variety that is so tasty! I enjoyed the Jalapeno Creamed Corn & Fried Okra. Truly delicious! The service is also very good and everyone is friendly! And to top if off, you get a dish or cone of soft serve ice cream ( vanilla, chocolate or swirl). I wish I could give a ten star rating. First let's talk about the food. I was so engaged in eating I forgot to take pictures. I ordered the create your own with two meats and two sides. I had the brisket, turkey, sweet corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was good freaking good. I'm ready for a nap. Now let's talk about the service. I have to honestly say the service here cannot be beat. From the time we walked in the door we were greeted with hellos and warm smiles. Stacie was our order taker and cashier, she's one of those people I wish worked at every counter in the country. Very patient, very friendly and genuine. Next, Garret. OMG! He gets ten stars alone. Garret explained each BBQ sauce that was being offered, even broke down the key ingredients. He engaged in conversation with us and even sat and chatted with us. You don't meet too many people in the service industry that will give you superb, professional and personal service the way he did. The restaurant is spotless, you don't have the servers sweeping while you're trying to enjoy your meal and you won't go thirsty waiting for a drink. Big thumbs up. On a recent trip to Texas from Kansas, we followed a Swadley's BBQ van on I35. My husband & I both said we had never heard of it. So on our return home we stopped in Ardmore for lunch at Swadley's. Being a southern girl, I love fried catfish done right & theirs did not disappoint. Thin lightly battered & crisp but not dry, just perfect. My husband had the burnt ends also perfectly charred, sweet & tender. We opted for the sides of onion straws & the salad bar which were also delicious. Our server Ethan was friendly & attentive with condiments of jalapeños, sauce & kept our beverages topped off. This very well could be a must stop on our travels back to Oklahoma or Texas on our next trip. read more

Great experience would do it again In a heartbeat. First time visiting the state of Oklahoma and wasn't leaving without having some Bbq. I was referred here by a client and he wasn't lying when he said the food was to die for. He had lunch there that was so good he and a buddy went back the same day for dinner. I had the sampler platter with okra which was excellent especially the ribs. They tasted like a smoked ham and had to have been the best smoked pork ribs I have ever had. We are visiting Ardmore from Dallas and decided to give this place a chance. All of the employees were SO kind and attentive. I haven't been to a restaurant in awhile that had so many cheerful servers and staff. Our food was also delicious. I had the loaded baked potato with chopped brisket and my husband got the Ultimate BBQ sandwich which he really liked. We also shared the Apple Crumb Bar. They have complimentary ice cream too. Went there for the first time today. 1. Staff was amazing 2. Service was great 3. Sides were good. I had the campfire taters and mac & cheese. 4. Had the two meat plate, pulled pork and sliced brisket. Some of the pulled pork was dry and crunchie. Brisket failed the pull test and was tuff and chewy. In my humble opinion they have a long way to go to beat the other bbq places in Ardmore. If not for the great staff, service and side I would have given them 1 star. read more

It is great to see a barbecue joint in Ardmore, even if it is a small chain. I'll comment first on the food, then on the restaurant atmosphere. We shared a combo plate and both the barbecue and the sides were delicious. The barbecue sauces were great as well and it was nice to try a variety. The food is just fantastic down home barbecue. The price teeters between reasonable and slightly high, but considering it is a quality barbecue plate, you're getting what you pay for. The restaurant is clean and spacious, however I'm not a fan of the way it was designed, it feels a bit like a maze to get in and out of, which was a challenge for my elderly grandmother. You order at a counter upon entering and weaving through the entrance hall, which is an efficient process, however you still seat and gain a waitress. I find the system of ordering at the counter and still having a waitress who brings your drinks, food, condiments, and checks in to be a bit confusing at first--especially because you pay at the front and then (as a new customer) realize you have a waitress who will expect a tip. Not to mention, the restaurant has numerous signs around the building encouraging tipping, which I find tacky... At any rate, our waitress was just great and we were able to sort things out and get her a tip. All in all, it's a great place for barbecue, but I think next time I would prefer to order my food to go. read more

I have been a swadleys customer for many years. I was delighted when the Ardmore store opened. I watched as the management in this new unit struggle a bit at first. I was so happy on our first visit to the store we had Erica as our server. The assistant manager at the time was checking, leading and mentoring the team. I was impressed whit his leadership style that I asked him his name, thanked him for the great service and said we would be back. Craig listened to my feedback, agreed that he did in fact have a wonderful vibrant team. He appreciated each and every employee. Back to my review, the food was hot, tasty, plated well and was just plain good. We have visited almost every week. We enjoy the consistency, the quality and the bright and dynamic team. Absolutely excellent service and food! My husband and 6 kids decided to stop here on our way home from Turner Falls due to all the good reviews. This place does not disappoint. Many options and many sides. But let me start with the service. The lady who took our order was super sweet and polite! So refreshing after encountering so many rude employees everywhere. Our server was Matty. She was so nice and kept our refills coming! The manager, didn't catch his name, wow sir, you are truly what the food/restaurant service is lacking these days. This man kept checking on us and even brought us refills, and we were seated in the furthest back corner of the restaurant. Exceptional service. We ordered a little of everything. My husband had the Cowboy ribeye and he had no complaints. My girls had burgers and the meat was well seasoned and cooked. I had the sampler. All great meats. Their Mac n cheese is very creamy and delicious. The creamed corn was better than expected, it was a sweet surprise! We will definitely stop by again. read more

This place looks like it has some of the best BBQ in the state of Oklahoma according to their picture menu. When I actually ate the food the meat was just so-so. The burnt ends were half fat and the fried Okra was way over cooked. I did like jalapeño cream corn and the spicy beans. The BBQ sauce was very good. read more

First sign of greatness- parking lot was full and well maintained. As i walked into the place it smelt amazing. Reached the front counter and the cashiers were super friendly and made sure they kept me number 1 priority or atleast thats the way they made me feel. My server was very energetic and tremendous. Kept up with drinks and anything else we needed all while keeping the store clean and helping others as well. The food was magnificent. I ordered the oklahoma sampler and it was magnificent from the slice brisket to the sausage,ham,chicken and last but the best part THE RIB ! This was our first time eating here. The food and service was amazing. We had the Oklahoma Sampler. The ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, and ham were all wonderful. Our waitress, Narci was excellent. I don't normally give 5 stars. Normally 4 at the most. I wish there was a 5+ for this place. Got the Country Boy. It is a sandwich with choice of meat and two sides. Fried okra and shoe string onion rings were the choice. So, smoked chicken was the decision. It was cooked perfectly. Tender, and very tasty. The okra was well cooked which made them crunchy and delicious. Finally the onion strings were perfect. But, the key was service. The waiter had all four of the sauces all laid out in cups with explanations, pickles, onions, jalapeños provided. And at the end made sure I had a to go drink for the freeway to Dallas. I will tell you that this was the first time at a Swadleys but will not be the last. Exceptional! read more

I just visited Swadley's in Ardmore and that is not very good bbq. The wait staff was super nice, which was about the only thing positive. I had the brisket, which was not very good. I specifically asked for the point and the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. When it was brought to me, it was definitely sliced from the flat, not much smoke flavor and was sliced very thin (which is a good sign they serve overcooked, dry brisket). And it was barely warm. The jalapeño sausage was good. The mac n cheese was mediocre. The spicy beans were good. The free ice cream at end was typical of most free ice creams served at chain restaurants. They don't appear to actually make traditional pit bbq, it looked like they have big ovens that they add wood smoke to out back (no smoke was rollin'). Overall this tasted like cafeteria food. I guess the thing that got me was when you say World Famous on your signs and your website, I expected a little more. read more

My family and I ate at Swadley's for the very first time yesterday, It was great! We didn't have to wait long on our dinner and it was delicious. Even better was their staff!!! Our waitress Sabrina was amazing!!!!! She was very friendly and informative as we had never been there before. We didn't have to wait on a thing, she was on it. Also the GM Craig was also very helpfully and friendly. He didn't hesitate to get my grandma her own fries since she's not able to eat a lot of salt. I went on a Friday at 4:00 PM and you would think that at that time and on Friday you would get the best they have to offer. I ordered a 1/2 lb of sliced brisket and a 1/2 lb of sausage, the brisket was dry and kind of tough as was the sausage. Anywhere else the brisket is fall apart tender and the sausage juicy, but not here. I also ordered okra and sweet beans. The okra was plentiful but it was also overcooked and burnt and the sweet beans were simply baked beans. The entire order was overpriced ($35.00) for the quality of the food. read more
