Michelle really, really cares about your skin which is why I won't go anywhere else. Some people just follow step by step facials without really paying attention. Michelle, on the other hand, thinks about what your skin will respond to and tries new products to better improve your skin. She really is fantastic and my skin has never looked better! To start off, I purchased a coupon from kgb deals - $18 for $60 mani/pedi. This nail salon is run by one person, Ruth. Booking an appointment was pretty difficult. I'm sure this was because she recently did a daily deal and everyone was trying to get in to use their coupons. There is a parking lot, validated for one hour, after that it's $1/half hour. Walking into her salon, I was very excited about the services I was to receive; everything looks very warm and welcoming. She had me pick out colors right away, but the lighting made it pretty difficult to see all the different shades. I had an idea of the color I wanted, usually when I ask the nail technicians for help, they are eager to suggest and search for something I may like. After asking her, she only pointed to some addition places she had polishes and told me to take a gander. In addition to not being too helpful, I was waiting for quite awhile before my service began. Not that I had a lot going on, but my parking minutes were ticking!! As for the services, they started off great. Ruth is a great conversationist; very fun and easy to hold a conversation with. But then the nail clipping began, she " accidentally" cut off a HUGE chunk of my pinky toenail. Immediately, I squealed, so she asked if it hurt. I mean, she cut the nail to the root and ripped, of course it hurt! F-ing OWW!! Even after she did this, the same thing happened to my pinky toenail on my other foot. Wait, really?!?! Now that I was missing pieces from both my pinky toenails, we moved onto my hands. She rushed through my mani, probably because she had what seemed like a long time client waiting for her. Attached pictures show results of her haste work on my fingers. There were parts of my nail that were missing polish and the polish that should have ended up on those areas ended up on my cuticles. In addition, she didn't at all clip/clean up my cuticles too much. You can also see in my photos the excess skin on the sides of my fingers. In conclusion, I think its bogus that her mani/pedi's are normally $60. I would be throwing even bigger fits if I paid anything more than $18. Unless, she gives higher paying clients better service than those that bought a coupon. In which case, these coupon deals are a chance for these small businesses to gain potential clients and build their book of business. If you don't give us a good impression, what reason do we have to come back? My suggestion, go to one of those Asian nail salons. Yes, they might talk about you in a language you most likely don't understand or not talk to you at all, but they do a good job and you get your money's worth.

This is one business I would highly suggest ALL yelpers to stay away from. Not only is the location "dingy, small and unsanitary-looking" as my mom said, but the service is incredibly unprofessional. I purchased a coupon for $17 and, as Michelle said before me, had a difficult time scheduling an appointment (I called at the end of October and the first appointment I could get was December 10th, that's ridiculous). The story: The woman who runs this business, Ruth, is both unprofessional and rude. I knew I could not make the scheduled appointment as I had a lesson that I couldn't miss. So, knowing how difficult it had been to schedule this initially, I gave the coupon to my mom so that she could enjoy it. She was excited at this "early Christmas gift" but left a bit late so I called to let Ruth know that I couldn't make it because I was stuck in traffic (I didn't want to blame it on my mom) and she said that she could move it to a time in January but that I would have to pay a $20 late fee for rescheduling. At this point, I didn't know if my mom was going to make it on time so I rescheduled. Then I thought about it a bit more and realized that $20 extra is more than the cost of my coupon. That's ridiculous, why would I do that and how does that make this a deal? So I called her back literally one minute after hanging up with her and she didn't answer so I left a message on her voice mail letting her know that my mother was the individual who was going to be going but she would be late since she was still driving there. When my mom arrived ten minutes late, Ruth told her that she hadn't received my voice mail, didn't know that it was going to be my mom and not me, and could not take her. My mom offered to wait or to have Ruth do half the service or whatever would fit into the appointment that was left. Instead she said "no, I have someone in an hour and I am now working on someone else." She was very short to my mom and refused her service so I gave Ruth a call after my lesson an hour later. Ruth answered my phone call this time and proceeded to rudely say that "she doesn't check her voice mail every second of the day" and "as I have said, I have a wait-list of ten people per appointment so it's not surprising someone else walked in" which I questioned since, first of all, she had NOT told me about this wait-list nor did this "wait-list" have anything to do with this individual who walked in. She also tried to get me off the phone quite a few times telling me "I am still with a customer right now," as if my questions concerning the treatment of my mother in her place of business were not important. The Spark Notes/Moral: This is not a business that I would suggest in any way, shape, or form, unless you like being treated rudely and unprofessionally in a location that is subpar, in which case, go and look for the one star- and two star-rated businesses here because they're just for you!
