The negative reviews I do not believe reflect the true nature of this salon at all. I have seen the front desk staff be treated poorly by other customers, and it saddens me. The girls at the front are full of life and have been kind the four years I've been coming here. I've had an issue once with the polish and after calling to let them know, they were immediately helpful in fixing the issue. I can tell that they do their best. I normally just walk in but when I get the chance I love Tony for pedicures, he gives a great massage! I try to avoid the weekends and am usually seen right away. I had a very disappointing experience at West Hills Nail Spa. When I called to make my appointment, I specifically asked for the technician who usually does my pedicures. I was told she wasn't available, so I asked if they could recommend someone with similar experience. I was assured that a note would be made and that I would be taken care of. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The technician I was assigned seemed unfamiliar with the color I was requesting and struggled to understand what I wanted. The polish application was poorly done, with bubbles and an uneven finish, requiring it to be removed and redone. Even after explaining that I wanted a pearl or shimmery color, I was not given suitable options and ended up with plain white nails--a color I did not want. To make matters worse, the service felt rushed. My pedicure was incomplete, and I never received the foot massage that is normally part of the experience. After spending extra time correcting mistakes, I was quickly sent on my way. I have been a customer for some time, which made this experience especially frustrating and disappointing. I usually come here and have no complains. Yesterday my daughter and I went in for pedis and gel x for myself. Gelx No complains, they came out very nice loved them! But my pedicure was not as great. First of all she filed too much she cut me, then when I got asked what I wanted as color I said French tip, she then said I couldn't because of how the nails were, filed too much cuts my skin and so I just said I always get French tip. Went with the pink only. My daughter had no complains about her pedicure but then at night the whole polish came right off at night for one of her toes, not sure what happened there. Wasn't going to complain but we obviously paid for the service and are not happy with most, which is upsetting being that it was Mother's Day and getting a pedi is supposed to be relaxing. read more

I like coming to this salon because it's one of the bigger nail salons in the area, they usually accept walk-ins, and it's conveniently located near a lot of stores. The salon is clean, the receptionist is great, and they offer complimentary drinks which is a nice touch. The only downside during my last visit was the constant upselling. The two technicians helping me kept trying to add services after I had already said no. When I declined callus removal, they looked at each other and made a comment that made me feel judged for not adding it. What made me most uncomfortable was the tipping situation. When I went to the front to pay, both technicians followed me, which made me feel pressured to tip. I only had $5 on me and was planning to give them $5 each, but they both looked at me like something was wrong with that. My boyfriend stepped in and gave me another $10, so I ended up tipping $10 each. The whole situation just felt awkward and forced. Overall it's a nice salon, but I hope they can be a little less pushy with add-ons and make the tipping process feel less pressured. read more

I received the worst service I've ever experienced at this salon. Looking back, I should have paid more attention to the customer service when I first arrived. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately this experience ended with multiple toes becoming extremely sensitive and developing blood spots under the nails. The sensitivity was significant enough that even wearing shoes became uncomfortable. I received a pedicure on Sunday, June 14. By Monday, June 15, one gel-polished toenail had come off while I was sleeping. I was annoyed but moved on with my day. Later that evening, a second gel-polished toenail came off, and I noticed a blood spot under one of my sensitive toenails. By Wednesday or Thursday, three toenails had lost their polish and three nails were sensitive with visible blood underneath. I called the salon and spoke with the receptionist. During the call, she appeared to be assisting both me and another customer at the same time. After being placed on hold, I explained what had happened. She thanked me for being polite and offered to have someone redo my nails. I respectfully declined and requested a refund because I was no longer comfortable receiving services there. She told me she was not authorized to issue refunds and that I would need to speak with a manager. I expected to be transferred, but instead was told the manager had already left and would call me the following day. By Friday, I still had not received a call, and by that point four toenails had lost their polish. I returned on Sunday for the appointment that had been scheduled so the remaining polish could be removed. I arrived at 11:31 a.m. for my 11:30 a.m. appointment and asked whether a manager was present. I was told he was not there but that there was a note regarding my situation. I asked whether there was someone available in his absence, as I had not previously been told he was on vacation. I explained that I wanted to resolve the issue and share my experience. During the conversation, I mentioned that I had considered disputing the charge through American Express because I was frustrated by the lack of resolution after spending money on a service that resulted in this outcome. At that point, the interaction became increasingly tense from her side. The receptionist reiterated that she could not issue refunds. I acknowledged that, but continued asking whether someone else could assist. She told me I was being loud; I responded that I had not raised my voice once. I was then asked to leave. Before leaving, I asked that the remaining polish be removed from my toes. That request was not fulfilled, and I was again asked to leave the salon. As a result, I had to seek assistance elsewhere. What disappointed me most was not only the condition of my nails, but also the lack of communication and resolution after I reported the issue. I simply wanted my concerns addressed and a reasonable solution offered. This experience has been especially frustrating because it happened at the beginning of summer and during a time when I was finally starting to feel like myself again after the postpartum period. Based on my experience, I will not be returning and I will be sure to share my concern with entities who will listen. read more

I've come to WHNP for about three years now and I've always returned for Nia and Cindy. The salon is clean!, pretty, and large. Appointments highly recommended. Accepts cash or credit cards, offers a loyalty card, and there's a ton of parking. Nia can execute any style and design and gets me out in 45 minutes max. It was my first time here, and I wasn't sure what is included in a manicure until after I left. They did not provide me with a menu. The technician ONLY did my nails. She never put my hands in water or put lotion on my hands with a massage, which is what I expected from previous experiences. I felt like just doing my bio gel nails alone was not worth the price of around $60. She also left gaps between cuticle of my nails and the gel polish. The nail file also seems to be used before me... The only positive parts of this was the aesthetic, having a free soda (which was never offered but just displayed), and the nail color selection. My mom booked an appointment for Gel X nails and came in excited to get beautiful, natural-looking nails for Halloween. She explained exactly what she wanted and even picked her colors. Alex who did her nails was constantly on his phone and clearly not paying attention. Instead of doing Gel X, he just did a quick manicure, threw some polish on her natural nails, and then charged her $40! When she mentioned she came in for Gel X, the girl at the front desk actually told her to "go to another salon and ask for Gel X there." She left the salon in tears -- no extensions, no design, nothing close to what she booked or paid for. Completely unprofessional and such a disappointing experience.
