I traveled from MD to PA Galeton last week and my car would not start on Sunday, jump start did not help. I google search and called around the nearby auto garages with good reviews. Obviously, not anyone picked up the phone on a Sunday afternoon, except for the Swan's Garage. The incredibly kind Mr. Fred Swan who happened to be at the shop, initially offered to come and take a look at my car the next morning, and when he found out that I have AAA membership so he instructed me to have the car towed to his shop right away. First thing Monday morning he ran a diagnostic and determined that my car need a new starter but he does not carry starters for a foreign car. He then called around to see if other shops carry the part before he called me, explained the situation, and suggested several options for me. In addition, he helped to call the closest dealership, provided me with contact information to local towing companies. When I finally arrived at his garage, I found that his lot was full of cars waiting for repairs. I was deeply moved by his genuine kind-heartedness to assist a traveler from another state, understanding the urgency of my situation, gave me priority as I needed to leave PA as soon as I could to catch a flight.
