This one is located in Grand Central Terminal. I wanted to get a Swatch watch for a while and had gone to another location where nobody bothered to help me. It's a smaller location but there were two ladies working there and one did assist me on seeing selection, trying watches on and so forth. Update - 6/17/19 - I needed a new battery for my turquoise watch (love the complimentary service) and my watch band was super dirty so I opted to replace that one with a navy band. Special thank you to Charles who was so patient with me as I obsessed about which design to get (and ended up making a switch at the end from a striped band to a navy one). I really appreciate the fantastic customer service at this store. They have some new styles which are adorable so if you're in the neighborhood of Grand Central, I highly recommend that you pop into this store. read more

I bought my first Swatch™ in the early 80s; it was a gray one with a pinstripe face and I paid only $30. (But that's probably at least $60 in 2012 dollars, and that's what Swatch charges now for a comparable watch.) When my kitten chewed up the band to wake me up--I wear a watch to bed--I stupidly threw it out. Flash forward over 30 years; I'm a member of the "Swatch™ club" (I know, I know) and I received a postcard saying that for a limited time I can come in for a free buffing and battery change. The Prince street store has closed, and I'm not sure if I'll find a store near me by the 29th of August. So I'm going through Grand Central today, and I decide to see if either of my Swatches are salvageable. One of them is a "Snow White" Swatch, with a transparent case and a mirror dial that has no markings. (As in, "Mirror, mirror on the wall...") It's from the early 90s and I've pretty much worn it to death; the technicians do CPR on it and manage to get it running, then buff the crystal with white rouge and change the band. The battery compartment has to be taped shut, and it still keeps jerky, inaccurate time. I'm still happy, knowing it'll look great on my bulletin board at home. The other is a calendar Swatch™; I think the hands are still luminous, and in tiny letters at the bottom of the dial it says " SWATCH A.G. 1990." So this one just needs a battery change and buffing, and is good to go. I've paid less than $13 for a good deal of time and attention from two salespeople at the store, and I'm suitably impressed. I have to say, I have better luck with the plastic Swatches than the metal ones; I had one of the Swatch™ "Irony" watches with an expandable band, and the winding crown fell off; I was told they couldn't repair it. I was kind of angry at that, and started wearing a Swiss Army™ watch. But I think Swatch has won me back as a customer. I'm pretty hard on my watches, and Swatch is stylin'--with both a representation of tried-and-true styles and a rotation of fashiony and limited-edition watches--and a good value. read more

As a lover of all things Swatch, I like to make sure the three swatches that I own always have a ticking battery and aren't scuffed too hardcore. I usually head down to the store on Bleeker for such things (the one that used to be a hot dog stand), but I always forget that there's one in Grand Central right under my nose. Let's also just point out - I got out of work at 8:00 PM one weekday night (either a Tuesday or a Wednesday) and this location was STILL open and FULLY staffed. So that doesn't suck, as you'd expect a smaller location like this to be open less hours. I guess they must do good business from all the tourist foot traffic. The woman who helped me- both with getting a new battery and with de-scuffing the front of the watch, was super nice and helpful. Generally the rule of thumb with all Swatch employees. There was a queeny dude here, but he was helping someone else and generally left me alone. I forgot my Swatch card, but the girl was happy to look it up. I have nothing but nice things to say about this place- I will totally go back there again if I run into future Swatch problems. read more

I had bought a chronometer about 4 years ago and rarely wore it. I wore it recently on vacation and went in the pool and it breached and formed condensation on the inside. Even though it was out of warranty, I brought it back. The salesgirls displayed typical in-the-box thinking and were adamant that Swatch policy was after the 2 year warranty, you are out of luck. I spoke to Kyle, the Store Manager and he happily exchanged my watch for a new one. Props to Swatch for standing behind their products! read more

i remember going thru my swatch watch faze during my younger years and i had a decent collection of them until i started giving them away to my siblings useless offsprings.lucky for me i kept a few and they are worth a few bucks which is cool cause i plan on keeping them . while walking thru grand central terminal i notice a small space which was a swatch store and the good memories all came back .plenty of styles and selections but the big difference and its huge is the price , no more am i able to buy a swatch for 20 bucks because now the tax alone is more then 20 bucks . ok i had my pick down to 3 swatches and i decided to purchase just one and come back another day for the other 2. the sales gal was so nice and very patient helping me decide on which one to get and the 200 dollar cost was more then i planned to spend but what the heck its only money and its a swatch . read more

As a someone who has worked in retail, customer service is EXTREMELY important to me. And, Andree did not disappoint. This store may have its faults, for example: the size of the space and the lack of proper functioning materials for the sales associates to work with; however, thank goodness the store has Andree! She not only met my needs, she went above and beyond. She knew the material on all of the products and had solutions for every issue. We had some problem with a watchband and came here for a solution. While we were prepared to purchase a new band, the incredibly nice and competent young woman working in this store immediately saw the problem (months ago, her not so attentive colleagues in the Times Square store had put on the watchband incorrectly, causing irritation) and fitted the watch correctly. I had such a great experience. I had just gotten out of work and I needed to get a band replacement for my watch. When I entered the store I was greeted by Nadia and Mickey. Even through they had just opened, I was surprised by how fun, engaging, and energetic they were this early in the morning. They were also rocking some hilarious costumes (Halloween eve). They took the time to show me the entire selection of bands. Not only did I walk out with a new band, they also assured me that they would do their best to find a replacement for my *overused* limited edition band that brought me to the store in the first place. 10/10 experience. I have always been a Swatch fan since young but for the past few years I stopped looking at them till recently my interest have heightened again and I have been looking and buying again (not good for my pocket). The designs are always so cute and unique, who could resist! Walked in today to try on a Sistem51 Navy watch and walked out not 5 minutes later with the watch on my wrist. Purchased of course lol... The staff was courteous and helpful. I believe it was Millie who allowed me to try on the watch. She didn't try to sell me on it. That I appreciate in customer service... Yesterday my son and his wife bought me a beautiful classic-styled Swatch (Irony Appia) for my birthday and commented on the helpfulness and the staff. This is my third Swatch -- I am fond of them. I broke the wrist band in the process of figuring out how to remove it (you should press the lateral protuberances on the clasp). Tonight I came into Swatch to get a battery swapped on my watch. Carlos swapped it for me, buffed the watch and got me signed up for the Swatch email program. Unfortunately, it stopped keeping time about 45 minutes later. When I returned, Carlos remembered me and helped me and even gave me a new watch as part of the warranty program (even though I didn't have the paperwork on me). what a joke!!! i bought a basic swatch watch with a black leather band about 8 months ago, the band broke soon after and i went to this store today to replace it. They have NO bands! Moreover, I was told that no Swatch store has basic black leather bands. Are you kidding me? The sales woman added my name and number to a bulging book of other names and numbers of customers who wanted parts and she told me they would call me when they got it. I am not holding my breath. When trying to return a watch the store reps claimed that they could not use the receipt even though the receipt itsself clearly states it can be used to return for merchandise credit. So I've been wanting to do this review but have been forgetting. I was there for the holidays and was very pleased with the service there. I was helped by a girl named Milly on the receipt it says Mildred H. This young lady was so helpful and did even seem bothered. I was in there for almost a hour choosing 3 watches for my kids. The store was so packed and she just made sure to help me with what I needed. She asked me bunch of questions about my kids which made it easier for when choosing their watches. But what Im trying to say is that if you ever need help ask for her she is great and super sweet, she oh so pretty as well.. lol There was like 4 more employees there too at the time and they were all very helpful. I will always come here for my watches I love SWATCH. FYI dont go to the one in Time Square you will never get this service ever. Thank You Milly my kids loves it.
