I cannot recommend enough that you stay away from this company and all of the other watch companies that Eric runs, including Chrono Nation. I brought in a watch to Eric, and awaited an estimate. When I came back to pick up the watch (deciding to instead have it serviced by another watchmaker), he claimed there was a misunderstanding, and that he serviced the watch anyway, so I paid for the service. Lo and behold, the watch was still having the same issues, and I questioned if he really serviced it or not. He yelled at me and told me it absolutely was, and that he can't make any watch run perfectly. I then brought the watch to another watchmaker, who said he was confident the watch had not been serviced--it was bone dry, clearly not lubricated, and he could see the specific gears that were grinding up against each other. When I brought this to Eric's attention, he yelled at me again, and said that other watchmakers aren't trustworthy because they're trying to steal his business. Eric is the type of proprietor who helps give the Diamond District its bad reputation. He is not a watchmaker, has no clue what he's talking about, and if you try to question him, he yells at you and tries to belittle you. read more

Bought in a ladies TAG and needed a crown stem and Crystal . While they replaced the crystal they did a half assed job on the stem and crown. Crown does not lock down and the Watchmaker told me it never did . Which is bull. Stay away. Also he date keeps changing because whatever stem they put in is not correct. read more

We couldn't find any jeweler to re-size it in South Carolina because it is a mixture of platinum and gold, so we decided to look in NYC. With absolutely no notice we stopped by Watch Repair & Co and met Eric Abraham. He took the time to listen to us, understood the situation, and said he would get the job done. It was around 4:00 pm when we were in his store and we had a flight out the next afternoon, so we assumed we'd pick it up on a return trip. He said he would put a rush on it and called us the next morning at 10:00 am to let us know it was ready. Even though we had complete confidence in him, we were still shocked that he'd been able to do that so quickly - and the ring fit perfectly! My Dad was in the jewelry business for almost 50 years. Through him, I amassed a modest collection of watches, some valuable, some very plain and basic. I also came to know several repair folks recommended by my Dad. Over the years, as they will, various of the watches stopped working, and I had the opportunity to bring them to the people my Dad recommended. My sense always was that I was being humored. And, with several of my watches: an old, inexpensive Pulsar I had since college (MANY years ago!), two Movados, and a nice Croton watch, I was told they were all either beyond repair, OR prohibitively expensive (for me). So, for a long time (no pun intended) these watches sat in a drawer. I prefer leather bands on my watches, but of course one of the side-effects of a leather band is they eventually break down due to sweat. So, I wound up with just one working watch, and decided to do my due diligence and find a new repair shop that might be up to the task of at least seeing if anything could really be done in a cost-effective manner with the watches that other places said no to. When I came in to Watch Repair, the man who greeted me, and the watch expert were friendly, polite, efficient, clear, and obviously wanted me to have an understanding of their process. They explained what was happening step-by-step, and gave me the option of waiting or going and coming back. Given the quiet of their office, I chose to stay. (You take calm and quiet where you find it in New York City!) Within an hour, I had seven working watches, all but one simple battery or small part repair, and all for around $200.00 total, including three new watch bands. (Even an old wind-up Hamilton suddenly just started working like it KNEW it was going to be OK in their presence!) They held one watch behind to analyze further, and called me later in the same afternoon to give me the estimate for repair, which was well within what I considered an acceptable range. And, knowing how good a job they were going to do, I said yes to the repair immediately. To say this was one of the best customer experiences I've had in New York in a long, long time is an understatement. I did a quick google search and found them, they emailed me back immediately with a reasonable quote. Great company. I contacted multiple watch repair shops to switch out the dial on my Bulova Moonwatch 96b251. Removing and replacing the hands was something I wasn't comfortable with. When i heard back from the other shops, they either quoted me an exaggerated amount for the job or told me the job wouldn't be done for weeks. That's when I heard from Daniel. He promised the work would be done by the next day so I decided to leave the watch with him. The next day he called to tell me the work was done. However due to an emergency, I couldn't come into the city to pick it up. Daniel was nice enough to meet up with me to deliver the watch. The Watch Repair & Co. is a dishonest shop and want to warn everyone that may read this. I can not tell you how disappointed I am in how they treated my wife and I as customers when we had brought my Breitling Crosswind in for service.  I had discussed over the phone with them on the lack of work that was completed on the watch due to the fact that this watch had ALL THE SAME issues it had when we dropped it off to their shop. They stated that the work in the watch was complete and to pick it up.  The watched was never fixed, but only buffed.  The buffing looked great until it was put under a scope.  Again, the work they completed supposedly was even worse than we had thought.  The screw that holds in the rider tab was broken in half and they never told us.  I was told the screw was most likely buffed to the point where it was thinned to its breaking point by the origi manufacture (Breitling).  I am so upset with all they put us through.  Their company was dishonest and took complete advantage of us. They gave me a price of $595 with worse case scenario, then called stating it was $1100 with all the extra work that had to be done to fix it.  Then when we came to pick it up, NOTHING was fixed.  I pointed this out to them and they argued it was all fixed. It didn't not work as we stood there in the shop and discussed it!! I now have to pay for the damage they caused to the watch above and beyond what needed to be fixed in the first place.  I'm scared to hear about the potential damage they have mostly caused to the works of the watch.  I will be reporting the details of everything that happened to Better Business Bureau, Manhattan Chamber of Commerce as well as posting on the watch pages of Breitling and Rolex and associated pages as well as Yelp and any other pages I can find so that third potential customers  may use so they can be warned of Watch Repair & Co deceptive practices and dishonesty. I may also see if I can recover lost money due to their actions.  I'm enclosing pictures of the most recent issue found with the unprofessional work that their company preformed and the new damage to the watch because of it.  Luckily the rider tab wasn't lost after breakage of the over buffed screw.  At this point all I can do is tell the truth to as many people as I can and see if I can find others that you have done the same thing too. I've used the term "diamond in the rough" quite a bit on Yelp. But I might need to end the usage here - because the "rough" in the this particular is, well, diamond-encrusted. So quite literally, Watch Repair & Co. is a figurative diamond in the rough of literal diamonds. Confusing enough? This place is fantastic little shop hidden in the Diamond District. You won't be able to find it unless you're specifically searching for it - which is part of its appeal. I digitally stumbled upon Watch Repair & Co. while perusing Yelp for watch repair services. I only needed a simple battery change, but still wanted to find the most reliable business given that I know nothing about jewelry/watch repair. This place seemed worth seeking out - and it absolutely was. When I say "hidden", I mean that Watch Repair & Co. doesn't have any sort of storefront - unlike the rest of the diamond shops on 47th street. To find it, you need to enter a small office building, tell the person manning the front desk where you're going, and proceed to Suite 211 on the second floor. Because this place is inconspicuous to the passersby, it doesn't strike me as the type of place that gets too busy at any given time. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by Eric who is such a delight. He told me that battery change would take approximately 15-20 minutes (I think it actually took about 10) and offered me a seat for my wait time. We chatted about his business, Yelp, watch batteries, etc. etc. and before I knew it - voila! Watch fixed. This was one of those times during which being a Yelper was quite rewarding. He actually quoted some of the reviews and we discussed a bit. Being able to have honest and enlightening conversations with business owners is one of the many reasons why I love Yelp. He explained that the reason why prices aren't uniform for some of the offered services is that all watches are different - a number of factors determine the relative ease of repairing a watch, so prices reflect the relative work that's put in. I've noticed that people use the words "fair" and "honest" to describe watch repairers (if that's an actual title), and I think Eric is absolutely both of those things. In any case, he charged me $15 for the battery replacement and also graciously cleaned my watch face - the difference is noticeable. I've had my watch for over three years now and it looks quite a bit newer now. Moral of the story: IMPECCABLE SERVICE. I'll absolutely be back!! read more

I took 2 watches for battery replacement and the following happened: 1) I was in and out in 15 minutes which is fantastic 2) The cost was significantly less than mailing the watches to the retailers to change the battery 3) One of the watches I noticed is missing one of the small hands (the watch has 4 hands total), granted that watches are enclosed and the missing hand is nowhere to be found within the glass it is possible that the hand came out at this repair shop I am rating the place 4 start only because of the missing hand on one of my watches, I am not sure if it came out at the watch repair or not however as a watch repair shop it should have been communicated that the hand is missing. I will most likely use them again but be carefully and check your watches before and after service read more

I went for a scratch removal and battery replacement for my Invicta Russian Diver. The guy (his name started with L) scratched my watch when he took out the battery. He said the scratches were not even noticeable, but that was far beyond my point. After some back and forth he took my watch to remove the scratches but he acted so bothered by it (for scratching my watch?!) He came back and removed the minor scratch and caused a bigger one. He even said my watch wasn't even a nice watch. Don't come here, unless you want your watch ruined. read more

Beware of this place. I brought in my Michele watch to get the battery replaced. A few weeks later, the FACE of the watch fell off right in my hands- exposing the inside of the watch! I didn't think much of it, I brought it back to be fixed (which, to their credit, they did). In retrospect - how poor of a job could they have done that the face fell off? The reason I'm now writing this review is because right around a year later, the battery has died again. Prior to this battery, I had one that lasted several years in it. So, not only did they do a shoddy job repairing it, but they gave me a low quality battery to match. I'm pretty upset. I feel fully taken advantage of with a piece of jewelry that means a lot to me. I took my Hamilton watch here to get the screw down crown repaired as it wouldn't screw down anymore. I was told I would be contacted in two days with an estimate. Two days passed without any contact. I called on the third day and was told they haven't gotten around to it yet but that I would get a call with an estimate the following week. I waited and waited for some sort of contact but heard nothing. I called again after a week and was told the part was difficult to find but that his two guys were working on it and that I should expect a call in a week. Another week goes by and no contact again. I initiate contact again and to my surprise the voice on the other end said "great news, we got the crown and your watch is ready to be picked up". "Great", I though. I was excited to pick up my newly repaired watch. I went the next day as soon as they opened. I had the man at the counter my ticket and he retrieves my watch. At first glance, it looks good and works. Something seems off though. Upon further examination the crown appears to be different than the original crown, smaller and with different grip pattern. I show the guy at the counter that it's the wrong crown and his response was "it's only a few millimeters smaller". Ah, yes, that's the response I was hoping for. To his credit, it is an authentic Hamilton crown and it does work on this watch but it's from the wrong Hamilton watch. I have an X-Mach and the new crown is from a Khaki field watch. He says I can leave it again and they would get the right crown. I said, "it's already been a month to have the damaged part replaced with the wrong piece. I'm not sure I'm willing to see what happens after another month of no communication". The man offered me a year warranty on the repair for my troubles but I have a sneaking suspicion that the repair is backed by a warranty anyway. I think for this transaction a 3 is pretty generous. Communication was nonexistent, attention to detail was not the best but they did fix my watch, which at the end of the day is what I paid for. read more

Within 24 hrs of getting my new watch, I bumped it against the granite countertop and put a massive scratch all the way across the 18K gold bezel. It ruined my day. I frantically searched around for someone that could fix this because that's all I could look at on the watch...it was terrible! As I paid with my credit card, they gave me some slips from their machine, claiming there were problem with my card, could not process transaction. So I have sort of a pretty drawn out experience with Watch Repair & Co. I have to say that I initially wanted very badly to use this company to service my watches. However, after comparing prices and references I ended up finding 3 different places to send my 4 watches. Eric was very friendly and even followed up with me after I didn't leave my watches with them after the first visit. After talking with him, I decided to give them a chance and brought my vintage Omega for an estimate. After the estimate, I found their price to be double that of two watchmakers and about 1/3 more than others I had checked with for the same service. This is important because the value of the watch is probably only around $600 and their service would cost more than that. However, I still wanted to get it fixed because it is one of my grandfather's watches that he left behind. Naturally, I thought I'd go with the cheaper yet reputable watch makers. What left an impression in my mind was when he said I would probably get screwed over and that "you get what you pay for." Well I paid less than half of what he quoted me and I got a perfectly well functioning watch with a one year warranty from Sergey at the 37 building across the street. Fancy that! Since I've done an exorbitant amount of research, I'll share my personal findings here: I took my grandfather's hundred year old Tiffany & Co to Vicovanu at Master of Time - a friendly and knowledgeable man. Still waiting on the watch. I sent my Rolex's to Time Care Inc. because Rik has amazing credentials and of course a Rolex parts account. He also offers a great bang for the buck. I took my Breitling to Harri at the Swiss Watch Repair Center. He's an official Breitling service center. Fixing a watch is an important venture and you gotta know who you're dealing with, best of luck! Edit: So since the owners and operators of the Watch Repair & Co decided to take the time to respond to my review, I feel it is my responsibility to explain myself a little more clearly. First saying that I'm "hard to please" is ridiculous considering I have an even number reviews for all star ratings, which would actually put me in the middle of the pack. An "attack" like this as well as the mock should-have-been review is an example of why I would choose not to deal with this company. I did leave out a salient detail in that when asked if the quoted price was the best price, the response was a price that was $300 more. Gee thanks for that! Sarcasm for the win? Yea sure, a decent amount of time was taken to talk to me, but to be exact much of it was spent waiting while other customers were helped (I can even remember the promise of a battery change, the antique Disney watches and more!) and phone calls were answered. My brother's Carier Santos needed a new batter. He went to an authorized dealer and quoted him almost two hundreds of dollars just to replace the battery. I could not believe it. Being a watch aficionado myself. I told him to hold off and give the watch to me to replace. Here comes big brother to save the day. I do my research of good ole yelp and find watch repair cross referenced with other review sites and decided that these guys would do a good job. A nice walk to the diamond district I stumble on few other watch repair shops and quoted me anywhere from 60-100 dollars. I thanked them and walked out... I finally came to watch repair & co. The sales representative greeted me with a smile and looked at my brothers watch and gave me an estimate of 20 dollars... we agreed on the price and 10 minutes later... The good old watch is ticking again! Totally satisfied! He also took the time to readjust my Daytona band (for free) saved me an awkward trek back to the rolex store. I paid $25 for these people to replace two screws on the back casing of my Michele watch (and change the battery) and they ended up scratching up my watch. Really upset. The screws are not screwed in evenly either and I'm worried that this will affect the water resistance of my watch. I like this place a lot. I just had my vintage Tag repaired there. The automatic movement needed a clean and an overhaul after the watch stopped working. The price was reasonable (cheaper than other bids I had got, but not so cheap to suggest they weren't serious about the job), and they threw in a free polish so now the watch runs and looks as good as new.
