All the doctors, nurses and therapists who work here are total professionals, so basically I just kicked back and enjoyed the ride. I was actually worried for no reason, although I admit I had some anxiety on surgery day. I was first on the schedule, but before I knew it I was in the recovery room, and then in my regular room watching baseball and the People's Court while recuperating nicely in my very comfortable bed. Thank God I had insurance. The whole process was seamless, and my share of the entire procedural costs was extremely reasonable, and I have no problems going here again or recommending them to anyone who needs hip replacement surgery or any other serious medical need. They really do care, and I saw nothing but patient-centered concern at every level. Even the food was delicious, and no, it's not served on a boot-camp style aluminum tray. They have their own restaurant, and you get to order off a real menu like you were eating out. I won't hesitate to go to Swedish again, and I know another surgery is coming up. The billing department is also very understandable and pleasant to deal with, which scores big points in my book when I happen to be down for the moment. But not forever!

A sheet was put on the bed and she left. I had to go thru cupboards to find a pillow. After awhile I asked for a warm blanket as I was getting cold, a blanket came very cold. Had a cat scan came back to room Dr. assistances came in, nice guy but was surprised as he was no help at all. He wouldn't prescribe a muscle relaxer as I had fallen and apparently he called it a muscular problem in the neck. The worse, upon arrival was my blood pressure 189/67. It was never checked again and they sent me home with these numbers...WHAT!!! Most of the time several hung out at there desks talking and laughing with no one every coming to see how i was doing!!! NEVER will I come to this ER again!!!

Dr Gregory Bernstein caused long-term, likely permanent, pain and bowel dysfunction after…read morerecommending and performing a procedure September 2025 which future colorectal providers described as contraindicated to symptoms, without cause (the procedure was on an asymptomatic hemorrhoid, incidentally noted during colonoscopy), and likely with improper technique, due to the facility's preemptive use of nitroglycerin. He rushed through the first appointment we had, and didn't ask many questions. Half my responses were mischarted, and he cut me off wherever I tried to ask questions, or provide detail. When confronted with the severe pain (like, in tears, after previously tolerating a thrombosed hemorrhoid), he was a condescending jerk, and tried to minimize the pain as just anxiety, initially refusing to do any exam, and never performing a DRE, before or after, actively delaying receiving the right diagnosis and treatment in a timely manner which may have helped to undo the damage he contributed to. He just said to schedule an appointment a few months out, canceled a sooner follow up I had, and it would be gone by then if I used Nitroglycerin (which both didn't work, and added to irritation). Bernstein instructed a n to initially refuse to share a list of PT providers, until I finished two more bandings. He then charged my insurance $1k for a second procedure he never performed. (Edit: this was marked as an office surgery in claim, but the CPT code was correct in EOB. He did bill initial visit at 45 to 60 minutes, despite less than 15 minutes of interaction). On Yelp, others have described similar incidents, and being guided into a procedure recommended as "painless", without proper informed consent, and without explanation, concern, or followup when persistent or severe pain is the outcome. The entity had a negative reputation from both a local colorectal specialist, and PT. I tried to switch providers at GastroHealth, stating to front desk that I did not trust Bernstein, but was told that wouldn't be possible, and to seek referral to hospital system (months out) instead, with access to any provider removed. After leaving a negative review due to causing a complication, then cutting off care, Dr Bernstein "graciously" rescheduled video visits (for a rectal injury), where he contributed nothing remotely valuable.

Because the idiots in charge of their billing department are incompetent morons. Well, unless their goal is to turn the billing department itself into a profit center above and beyond the medical procedures being performed by the doctors. If that's their goal they're probably succeeding, but that would mean they're evil. I was going to write a litany of all that went wrong with the billing, but I don't really care to. Let's keep it short: Billing statements have different amounts owed every month, don't include procedure codes, and DON'T SHOW PREVIOUS PAYMENTS. You can't tell what's going on. Call and demand more information and a month later you'll get a "statement" in the mail that is very complex and still doesn't have all the codes or other information but will refer to various (unspecified) adjustments. Complain about that and they'll send it to some back office for a "review". And then they'll never tell you the result of that review. That's their POLICY, according to the (very nice) representative on the phone. (Their phone reps are very nice but cannot do anything for you because they don't have information, not to mention authority). No, they don't tell you the result of the review. Instead they send you another bill which says "your account has been reactivated". That's your notice that they finished ignoring your review and it's time for you to just take their word for it again and pay some more again and hope that's the end of it. I'm through with Gastro Health Fremont. If Dr Bernstein sometime in the future moves to a different company, I'll look for him there.

The woman at the front desk (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) was so friendly and gave me a cold bottle of water while I waited; she also talked me thru insurance information so that I'd fully understand my copay and everything. Dr. Bliss had a very calming and kind demeanor, he seems like a person who genuinely enjoys caring for people. Going to the doctor can be a stressful experience, but Dr. Bliss and his partner made it a relaxing one. I'd genuinely look forward to going back! As soon as I walked into the waiting area, I knew I was in for a positive experience. There has been so much attention to detail put into making the space beyond beautiful and welcoming. The waiting area is such a feast for the eyes that it almost makes me sad that there is never a wait to see the doctor! I could happily spend my whole day in there - especially since Laura is so darn friendly and such a warm and lovely conversationalist! Dr. Bliss is equally amicable. He truly takes time to get to know you, listen to all your concerns, and ensure you feel heard. I'm the kind of person who is skittish around doctors due to having been shamed by them in the past for different issues like weight or lifestyle choices. Dr. Bliss approaches patients in a way that is very affirming and positive and I felt totally at ease expressing all my concerns to him. He gave me all the information I needed without any judgement. I had such a great experience here that I immediately established care for my 14yo here too. My kiddo has a lot of anxiety about going to the doctor but he pretty much echoed all the sentiments I've already stated in this review. After his appointment, he talked a lot about how nice Dr. Bliss was and I noticed he wrote "You guys are awesome!" on his exit slip. That's pretty high praise from a kid who allegedly hates going to the doctor! It's so rare to find compassionate country doctor vibes from a clinic inside the city. Then comes the bill - hence the 1 star rating: Neither of the items submitted made any sense at all and thus my insurance didn't accept them. (Again, this is a standard preventative that has had no issues billing at other providers). They had billed for a surgery when none was performed and other unique codes they must realize nets them the largest amount. When I called them, they said they would fix it and submit the correct CPT codes and they had made a mistake. Lo and behold, I receive a bill 10 days later for the wrong amounts they had submitted. This billing is a disaster at best, but most likely a fraudulent attempt at insurance overbilling. I would avoid this place like the dishonest, greedy practice they are.

Proceed with extreme caution if considering any gynecological procedures here, especially hysterectomies. They skipped basic standard-of-care steps, like performing necessary imaging beforehand, which could have caught issues or confirmed the need for surgery. Instead, I felt medically gaslighted--my concerns were dismissed, and the full scope of the procedure wasn't transparently explained. Despite final pathology reports showing no cancer, tumors, disease, or any medical justification, (only clinical guesses) they removed my uterus and cervix without properly informing me in advance. This wasn't just an oversight; it feels like a loophole they've exploited, leading to irreversible damage including incontinence and pelvic floor dysfunction that have drastically impacted my quality of life. The informed consent process was inadequate--doctors didn't clearly disclose that the cervix would be removed as part of a "total" hysterectomy, even when it wasn't warranted. Always, always get a second opinion from an independent provider before agreeing to anything. Request a witness or have someone present at all appointments and during consent discussions to ensure everything is documented accurately.
