When I first entered the establishment I noticed something quite quickly, the kind smile and kinder heart of the server at the front desk letting us know we can sit ourselves. I had been wanting to try this place. Well last night we went. It was a flop. They were out of hamburgers for starters. Service was nice but slow, it took way too long to get our food at a bbq place. Now on to the food, my fries were cold (they did bring me another order), both orders were extremely over salted to the point I couldn't eat them, the Texas toast was like a large crouton, my ribs were dry, burned and had no flavor. My kids food was cold as well-chicken tenders. The one good point was the fried pickles and ranch dressing. Great place for that. read more

A great little bar & grill. The ambiance is nothing special, but good food. We shared chicken wings and got the 24k gold and mango habanero sauces. Both delicious! Wings were crispy on the outside and saucy. We also shared the Texas BLT, fries and the Brunswick stew, which is a seasonal special of theirs. Delicious! Never had Brunswick stew before. This place has the worst BBQ I have ever had.They should be ashamed to call this "BBQ". First of all they use this second grade delivery service that took an hour and a half to get delivered and no one to talk to to check status. The food arrived cold, had to warm it up after adding Sweet baby rays BBQ and my Sons chicken tender kids meal looked like it was half eaten. There were literally 8 fries and 2 tiny pieces of chicken. The brisket was cold and chewy, not to mention the BBQ sauce was bitter and had WAY too much vinegar. The best part of it all was the burger buns in a plastic bag (the same bag it came with) -Talk about presentation! Lastly, Kraft in a box makes a WAAAYY better Mac and cheese than this place. I like BBQ so it is difficult to write a review on it without being overly critical. But, here goes. When you walk in the smell of a wood fire flavors the air just enough to make your mouth water. The atmosphere is casual with a small bar at one end of the dining room. The staff has alway been very friendly and Kourtney was no exception to that today and in fact, she was awesome! She was very attentive and checked often to see if I needed anything. The place is also very clean. Today the dinner was ribs but I could have chosen pulled port or brisket to go with two of the multitude of side items offered. Now there are several keys to good ribs and one of them has to be the sauce. Theirs has a smokey sweetness to it that adds that "must have" flavor to them. There is a choice of hot, mild or sweet sauces- all are good. The ribs were meaty and also had a good smoke flavor as they almost fell off the bones. Other places may get more visitors but that's because their patrons don't know about this place---they should! read more

That is it!!! last time eating here--incompetent, slow stupid servers and food just isn't that great! Waited almost 25 minutes for a veggie plate--had to call into the restaurant from the drive-thru to find out what happened to my food!!--I could have picked another side if I had known they were out of the side I ordered--common sense says to tell your CUSTOMER you are out of a side and it will be 25 minutes til it is ready and let them decide if they want to wait--two people actually backed out of the drive thru because it took so long!!! Food is ok nothing to rave about. I figure the overly packed parking lot comes from being the only bar out this way. I had the brisket dinner. Which the brisket is sliced not shredded. In my opinion the only way to serve brisket. The mac and cheese was. Good the baked beans was straight as well. I also order the Jack cheese. Its basically pepper jack cheese balls fried served with ranch. I love spicy food so it was not super spicy to me. They also have three house bbq sauces. I only tried hot and thick and sweet sauce. The thick and sweet sauce was good the hot wasn't hot to me. However, I eat spicy foods. They have a full bar, which is always a plus. The best part of the experience was the waiter and bartender. My review is based off of customer service and not the food. I called off and on for a few hours and each time the line was busy. When I finally got an answer, I was asked to hold. I wasn't actually put on hold, but the phone was laid down. I could hear ladies talking. After 7 minutes, someone picked up and without saying anything, hung the phone up. I called back and asked to speak to a manager. Jamie got on the phone and said that she was sorry. The pull pork sandwish is pretty basic but fresh and tender is not heavely smoked...the sauce is sweet...bake beans are what you would expect and slaw eas plain not creamy same for mc and cheese...creamy but nothing out of ordinary....white beans were very plain but also satisfying...the beef was tender and lighly smoked...i give it a 4 for thw quality of the food and the price...all in all i would come again...the staff qas evey helpful and friendly...they allow you to taste...the potato salad was mayo based and was quite delish!!! When you first walk by it doesn't look like much. But when you get seated you will be quite shocked by the prices it's an amazing price for what you get. I got a little nervous by the prices because it was around 6 dollars for a burger. I got the 10 dollar burger hoping for the best. It's a BBQ place, how can the BBQ not be warm or how can the bread be cold constantly? We finally decided to try this place out. I had hopes for some good food. I had heard good things about Sweeney's from coworkers and they always seemed busy. First things first, we ordered the sampler starter. The starter came after our main entrees. Let me describe the food so you can be forewarned. The fried chicken tenders, fried potato skins, fried cheese balls were all over-fried and hardened on the outside. Chicken tenders over-seasoned and spicy. The chicken wings were ok. The pulled pork, white beans, baked potato, mac&cheese were bland and obviously reheated. My fries and grilled chicken were also bland no seasoning to speak of. You could use their store bought barbeque sauce in the squirt bottles for the meat... The fries were sadly undercooked. And coincidentally my grilled chicken (and fries too I guess) was the only thing cooked fresh to order. Most of the patrons there at the time were in the bar and lounge area. The server was nice. But the food was terrible. I was really disappointed for such expensive food about $9-10 for each entree and $12 for the sampler =( we could've eaten better at mcdonalds for less. Sad. read more

This was my boyfriend's recent grandmother's favorite place for barbecue. We stopped in on our trip to Chattanooga and boy do we agree!!! I never knew you could get a baked potato stuffed with meat. We get take-out orders from here regularly. The majority of the time we do not get home with everything we order and pay for. One time we ordered bbq pork and got home with no buns. Tonight we were shorted one of our sides and cornbread to go with the white beans we did get. Very disappointing when you drive a long way and then get home without a complete meal. My friends and I went to Sweeney's for the first time and was really excited about trying something new. We ordered our food and the waitress brought our drinks. About 5 minutes into our conversation, I looked at my friends cup of water and realized that ROACH was crawling on her cup. A large roach at that. We jumped up from the table and I stopped to tell the waitress that we would like to cancel our order as a roach was on my friends cup. The waitress and another female, said "oh ok" and it didn't seemed to be surprised. There was no apologies, no is there anything I can do to this fix. That was literally it. This place does not even deserve one star I moved to Tennessee and when I found this barbecue place who also had wings on sale on Wednesday turn to complete shit. The very first time I went there I called 30 minutes ahead so that when I got off work I could pick it up and go home I still sat there and waited over an hour for my food. Now tonight when I called in I got hung up on three times in a row. The fourth time I called back they slam the phone on the counter and said all she is doing is calling and not saying anything so she can just sit there. I was calling in it to go order and I told the girls that whoever answered the phone so then when I finally got a hold of them after a six minute disconnection problem I asked to speak to the manager Roger so as I'm speaking to him I told him what had happened and he seemed really sincere. But no. After ordering my food through him I go inside to pick up the food I pay the dollars that I needed to and when I got my order I only had half of it I did not have the combo that me and the manager discussed and I did not have my drink so the girls decided they wanted to argue with me and make me seem wrong so I asked for the manager and when he came he was likeWell there was a problem with the ordering system and they didn't charge you for the combo I told him since it was your mistake you didn't tell the girls that could I please have the rest of my combo he said OK so they got my drink they gave me the rest of my food and they wanted to charge me extra money after I realized I did not get the sale price on the wings that they are supposed to be giving on Wednesday nights it is been that way for months so I do not recommend this place they are just out for your money and they do not care about you or the mail that you order for you or your family so they are not getting another dime from me and I will keep posting bad reviews of this place on Google and on Facebook because they do not deserve your money they do not care about you. read more
