Pork sandwich with slaw, and potato logs.
    Chris S.

Easy to find at the corner of Middle Valley and Boy Scott road. Its across the street from the Exxon gas station at the lighted intersection. Parking is right in front of the building on a gravel surface. There are only about four marked spaces but there is more parking along the side of the building if needed. This is primarily a take out spot, although there are a few seats under the awning along with several picnic tables with umbrellas to the side. You go up three steps to the window to order. The menu is below the window and includes the expected items. I ordered the special, which was a pork sandwich, logs, and a drink. The logs are chunks of potato deep fried like French fries. My sandwich was ready in under five minutes. It would have been quicker except the logs were freshly made. No complaints either way. The sandwich was good but not great. The pork had a slight smoked flavor but the meat was a bit dry. The slaw and bbq sauce helped. The logs are indeed chucks of potato, and I got a lot of them. I was certainly full after finishing. Truth be told, I also finished off the pork that fell out of my sandwich as well. Dixie is certainly a viable option for a quick lunch.

I tried to call and place an order & was told to "make it quick".. very rude, guess they don't care about good customer service.

Good bbq beef and pork. Fried okra is a big hit. Been a few times sandwiches greasy but not often and would go back.

No frills for sure! Trailer beside the road w a table outside, but it's pretty good barbecue. The loaded baked potato is killer.

BBQ sauce wasn't even needed. Meatloaf sandwich: 3.5* Meaty slice but quite dry, it needed the sauce Sampler (because we wanted to try all the meats): 4* pulled pork - great flavor, goes well with the BBQ; beef sausage - casing had a good snap to it and deep flavor; Rib tips - our least favorite, they were tough/chewy. Four sides: 4.5* Smokey Mac n cheese - creamy and not overly smoked, really well done! Ranch baked beans: flavor on point and beans nicely cooked. Pasta salad: what a delicious surprise! A variety of ingredients, not boring at all! Okra - hot and crispy and a HUGE portion. Not sure how they stayed crispy on the drive home. They were a little greasy but that was the only negative. Plenty of parking and you can sit in your car with a buzzer while you wait. There is also picnic tables to eat outside if you wish. A young man and a lady handled our order and were friendly and efficient. We will be back!

It also came with the infamous Hawaiian Mac salad, but it was salty to me. Keeping it in the container with the warm food didn't do it any favors. Is Hawaiian Mac salad typically warm? If so, not a fan. Molokai Chicken: chicken was tender, again a deep flavor but the spice it promised was not present - same sides as the other dish. Definitely tasty, we would go back to try other dishes and choose two rice or try the veggies. Plenty of parking if you want to dine in. 3 1/2 stars but rounding up instead of down.

The interior features bold teals and warm wood accents, creating an energetic, efficient environment. While it's designed for high-volume throughput, the open layout and upbeat island soundtrack make it a pleasant spot for a quick sit-down meal. It avoids the cluttered feel of many local diners, opting instead for a streamlined, digital-forward atmosphere that prioritizes speed and cleanliness. Service at the Hixson branch is notably consistent. The staff manages the "island pace" well--meaning they are friendly and welcoming--while maintaining the rapid-fire efficiency required for a busy lunch rush. Orders are typically ready within minutes of being placed, either via the kiosks or the front counter. Our order was out in less than 6 minutes after it was placed. The menu is a masterclass in "doing a few things perfectly." The core of the menu is the plate lunch: two scoops of white rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and a protein. Huli Huli Chicken is the signature dish. The chicken is grilled over an open flame and glazed with a sweet, savory teriyaki-style sauce. The Hixson location hits the mark on the char--providing those slightly caramelized edges that balance the sweetness of the pineapple-infused glaze. For those who prefer a bit of heat, my wife chose the Molokai Chicken. It uses the same tender thigh meat as the Huli Huli but introduces a spicy pepper profile. It's a "creeping" heat--not overwhelming at first, but it builds beautifully against the neutral backdrop of the white rice. In Hawaii, the "mac salad" can make or break a plate lunch. Hawaiian Bros serves a version that is creamy, heavy on the mayo, and purposefully soft. It is the essential cooling element that gives the Molokai chicken its spice. No visit to the Hixson location is complete without the Dole Soft Serve. It is dairy-free, gluten-free, and incredibly refreshing. The pineapple flavor is iconic, but if you want to level up, ask for a "twist" (if available) or simply enjoy the bright, acidic finish to a savory, protein-heavy meal. Our Final Verdict Hawaiian Bros Hixson brings a much-needed variety to the local food scene. It doesn't pretend to be fine dining; instead, it excels at serving high-quality, consistently comforting food with a tropical flair. It's an ideal spot for a reliable, flavorful lunch that feels slightly more "adventurous" than your standard burger or taco run. I recommended that you order the Large Molokai Chicken plate with an extra side of Mac Salad and a small Dole Soft Serve.
