Just learned they will be moving locations. This is the only time I can come, before going to work…read more I literally have 30 minutes to get what I need for the week, go home, drop everything off, pack my work lunch and zoom off to work. Not sure where the new location is, but it's going to be further away. Hate to give up my meats and eggs. Guess I will see if I can swing by the new location. This week, I got meats and eggs, and actually had a chance to sit down and enjoy the live music being played. Happy I had time to sit down for 2 songs. This farmers market is really great. There are a lot of venders with produce, lettuce, carrots, beets, microgreens. Meats- an assortment of meats, lamb, beef, chicken and seafood. Venders that sell their gluten free goodies, CBD, dog treats, knife sharpening, local honey, local wine. Yummy foods like bagels, empanadas, cold pressed juices. So much of a variety. Other farmers markets I've been to, it's never compared to this one. If you can't make it to the Lakeline Mall, soon to be moved to Bell District. This Texas Farmers Market is also on Sundays at Mueller. And it's even bigger with so many more vendors. Mueller location one I haven't figured out the parking. And the location is even further away. But it's an amazing market!

There's a lot of fresh food cooked here and the air is filled with the sizzling aromas of numerous vendors. This is also a very popular spot for people to bring their dogs. There is even a food truck of dog treats. This market is understandably geared towards all kinds of foods such as cheese, produce, freshly prepared items, and even wine and hard cider. You'll also find hemp related products, herbs, gluten-free bakery items, meats, kombucha, salsa, cookies, empanadas and the list goes on. They even have live music. I see a lot of vendors at this location that I do not see at any other location. No matter where you live in Austin, this is the farmers market that's worth the drive. Plenty of enticing and informative photos included.

Mueller is further away, but I have all day to shop, and plan, and get my groceries for the week. Something about this location that just has an energy about it. I feel so much better walking around. The people, the venders, and the dogs. My gosh there are so many dogs. I'm a dog person, and they know it. I have dogs walking up to me. And of course I have to talk to them. Venders are great, you have such a variety of prepared food. Love the dumplings. But there is so much more. Veggies. Fruits, canned goods, baked goods, meats, cheese, eggs, pasta, raw milk. I mean it's just a lot of greatness. Love supporting famers and small businesses. Coming out in the community, and just feeling a connection. Literally recharges me. It's been a draining week, and the market was my therapy today.

Farmers markets are supposed to be welcoming, family-friendly spaces where local vendors, farmers, nonprofits, faith groups, and community members can come together safely and respectfully. Unfortunately, I witnessed something that made the environment feel anything but welcoming. There was a small religious group with a table at the market, and as someone passed by, they shouted offensive racial and religious slurs at the men working the table. It was completely uncalled for. Rather than engaging in any kind of respectful conversation, this person chose to be hateful and intimidating in a public community space. I understand that the organizers may not be able to identify or remove every person who behaves this way, but I do think the market should be more proactive about making its expectations clear. A farmers market should feel safe for everyone, including vendors and community organizations that may be more likely to face harassment. Clear signage, public reminders, or stronger policies against hate speech and intolerance would go a long way. I hope the organizers take this seriously and make it clear that racism, religious intolerance, and harassment are not acceptable at this market. The community deserves a space that truly feels supportive, inclusive, and safe for all.
