Don't be fooled by its humble exterior... the interior space is *immaculately* clean and inviting. It beats national chain interiors handily, and most one-off shops I've visited in larger cities. I ordered a large latte (no syrups, I'm a purist), and had them pour it over ice. Delicious and well-made. My spouse wanted something to satisfy their sweet tooth: a chocolate chip cookie filled the bill. It was deceptively filling for its size, as it was laced with oatmeal -- but not too much of it -- and a touch of molasses. Even so, it was not overly sweet (which is a good thing). The young-ish counter guy was very pleasant, and seemed genuinely invested in ensuring our visit met our expectations. Again, high marks. Should I find myself in Geraldine, I will make it a point to stop in again. Bravo.

Stopped by for some fuel on the drive home after road tripping to a nearby park. I'd had this spot on my bookmarks for a while because I thought the drinks looked pretty and the name was cute, so I was excited to try it out. This is a small stand alone coffee shop kind of by itself off the side of the road. They have a drive through too. I hopped inside to check out their menu. They have coffee classics, Red Bull infused energy drink blends, tea, lots of frappes, and some minor food options. I didn't see any seasonal specials but they did have a turtle mocha, so I ordered that. Two gentlemen were working the counter and they were exceedingly pleasant. They invited me to come back out later to attend a trivia night or some such, which I thought was a nice idea and sentiment. My drink was made quickly. The inside of the shop feels super cozy and comfortable, a little like a book nook. I can imagine settling in for several hours to read or work. Unfortunately, I really didn't care for my drink. It was overwhelmed by syrups - and I say this as a woman who loves her sugary coffee desserts. Worse than that, at least one of the syrups had a distinctly unpleasant chemically taste. I'm guessing it's whichever one was meant to represent the pecan flavor in the turtle mocha, as it was slightly nutty tasting, but in a very unpleasant and artificial way. I barely drank any of my beverage. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. I appreciated the kind service and pleasant atmosphere and wish them well.

Their main speciality is mini donuts with toppings. If you're from Huntsville, you probably know Bigfoot's Little Donuts -- these are similar. Bite size, fluffy, and sweet. 5 donuts come to an order and it's an appropriate size for a nice treat. There are several different topping combinations to choose from. They also have other treats like ice cream bars and pops. I ordered cookies and cream donuts for me and M&M donuts to take home to my husband. Service was polite and my donuts came out quickly. Overall, they were solid. Having tried both, I liked the cookies and cream better; the M&M toppings were just mini M&Ms (too crunchy for me with the soft, light donuts) and somewhat bland chocolate syrup. However, the Oreo pieces were plentiful and the drizzle of Oreo crème was tasty. I do wish my donuts had been a little hotter, but they were pretty busy churning out orders so I get it. I enjoyed my order. Overall, this is a nice locally owned business that supports community events with kindness and graciousness. Give them a try if you see them out and about!

I continued my drive down Jordan Lane, pulled over at JaMo's, walked in and photographed a can, and sent that to her, along with the price. ...Which is about ¼ of its cost at Williams-Sonoma. I compared. JaMo's is the "sister location" of the JaMo's coffeehouse/café just down a little and across the street. That establishment was named for the husband-and-wife team of JAmie Miernick and MOrgan Andriulli, who'd closed down Five Points Espresso to move here in the mid-90's...when they sold to Mohammed Almohthsib, he kept the name. So it's "JAY-MOES," for point of reference, even if they don't answer the phone that way. Anyway. It should come as no surprise that, in addition to the aforementioned Harissa, lovers of Levantine and Gulf Country cuisine will also find Sumac, Za'atar, Ra's al Hanout, Pomegranate Molasses, and Oud (Agarwood Powder); Dried Lemons; Mint, Orange Blossom, Rose, and Pussy Willow (?!?!) Waters; and a wealth of more typical spices and additives. There are several types of Turkish Delight or Nougat candies; Ma'amoul (which may hold you till someone can make you the real thing); Mikado Čokolada from Croatia and Ülker™ Çikolata from Turkey; and even a few English offerings (though, in my attempts to read the fine print, they were apparently produced in Africa). Call ahead to see what's come in from their bakery partners: at one time or another, you'll find fresh Pita, Sangak, Barbari, and/or Lavash. They can also clue you in to when fresh produce arrives. Visit the refrigerated/freezer cases for Halloumi, Kashkaval, Bulgarian Feta, Labneh, Plain Yogurt, and Yogurt Sodas; Halal Meats; and Zereshk (Barberries). A Turkish acquaintance of mine wishes, however, that they had more TURKISH cheeses. After recently developing a taste for dirty sodas, I decided I'd try Southerland Sno Depot about a…read moreweek and a half ago. Although this business specializes in shaved ice (NOLA snoball style specifically), they started offering dirty sodas (or sodas jazzed up with extra flavorings, cream, etc) during their season this summer. This is indeed a seasonal business and as such they are mostly open during the summer and fall. Their fall hours, which start in early August, are Fridays and Saturdays only, from 1 - 7 P.M. They serve out of a small shack in the 5 Points area, though they initially started with a food trailer that I think they still have and may use to go to serve at events. At the shack, there's a decent sized parking lot and several picnic tables. When I came after an extremely hot day at work on Saturday, they were quite busy and seemed popular with kids! The woman who took my order wasn't super friendly and seemed kind of over it, but the other woman at the window who delivered it to me was much nicer! Their menu is really large and has a lot of specialty creations -- both in terms of snoballs and dirty sodas. They'll also make dirty energy drinks with Red Bull or Alani but they understandably won't sell them to minors. I was so incredibly hot and dehydrated from working outside all day that I decided I'd go big and get a snoball and a soda, just so I could say I tried both. I got The Coconut Caboose for my dirty soda, which is Coke (or Diet Coke) with coconut and lime, with the option to add coconut cream -- I passed on that. I enjoyed my drink! It had a good ratio of ice to beverage. I do think it was a little on the over-sweet side (yes, even for a dirty soda); I guess I just wish there'd been a little extra "something" to cut the sweet or make it more distinct, like maybe some vanilla. Still, it was refreshing! For my shaved ice, I got a shark attack, which is blue raspberry and tiger's blood flavored ice with sour patch kids and gummy sharks. This was a super fun and beautifully colored snoball! I'm honestly not typically a huge snoball fan but I devoured this one; it helped my badly dehydrated self out! It was saturated with flavors and turned my tongue blue. Fun! I ignored the gummy sharks but I do like a sour patch kid; next time, I'll eat those first before they get too firm from the cold. This treat would be a lot of fun for a kid because of all the cute and topical gummies. The texture of the ice was great, too! Give this place a try for your snoball and dirty soda needs. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This bake shop is located in the downtown Scottsboro area. I've wanted to try it when around for…read morework but it usually closes before I can get by; when I came to visit the Scottsboro Boys Museum, however, I was early enough to stop in and nab some treats. It's cute from the outside and clean albeit a little dated on the inside. Pastries are stored in a glass case to the left as you enter. I was somewhat surprised to see that there are full meal options to order as well. It was empty when I walked in so I'm not sure if people eat lunch here or not. I was just in for the pastries! A bell rang softly when I entered and someone emerged from the back to help me. She was nice enough and grabbed my goodies for me from the case. The selection was a little limited but it was after lunch so I bet most stuff goes in the morning. They did have a goodly number of donuts but I'm not a huge donut person. I got an orange roll and a sticky bun/pecan roll. I took them home to share with my husband later. The sticky bun was the better of the two items, with toasty nuts and a good amount of cinnamon. The orange roll suffered from the slightly medicinal taste orange flavoring often has but it was decent. Both pastries were a teeny bit on the dry side, but not offensive. I'd give the orange roll a 3/5 and the sticky bun a 4/5, so overall closer to a 3.5. Worth a try if you're craving a treat; I'm glad my curiosity has been sated!

Can't tell the difference. Everyone really enjoyed them. The non-dairy birthday girl and family really like reheating them a day after with a little butter on them. It was like celebrating her birthday again. We had a Cinnaholic in our city in the bay area but it closed down. We were so happy to find one near Decatur Alabama that we didn't mind a little drive to Madison Alabama. While we visited the store it was nicely kept including the restroom. We got greeted as we walked in. Nice décor for the interior. We enjoyed a brownie $3.00. It's very fudge to perfection. Make sure to have something to help wash it down in a good way. We had a Banana Pudding Roll $8.00. The roll was nicely done not too chewy and just enough cinnamon. The slices of banana add wow on this one. We also had a Strawberry Shortcake Roll. Again the base of all the rolls is the same. Not too chewy baked just right with a nice amount of cinnamon inside. The strawberry spread and slices made it into another wow creation.
