Service was a little cool at first but warmed up as I asked questions and for recommendations. I wound up getting two cupcakes to go (a chocolate peanut butter one and a cookies and cream one at the employee's recommendation) and a strawberry pretzel salad for right then. I'll be honest, this place gave me sticker shock pretty badly. These are very average sized cupcakes (with beautiful frosting work...but the fact remains these aren't the behemoths you'd get during the viral mega cupcake craze a few years ago) and the strawberry pretzel salad cup was also comfortably for one serving only. It was about $14, almost 16 with tip. Whew! The products were alright but nothing really stood out. The strawberry pretzel salad was probably the best thing, but it was all in very discrete layers, which is not my preference. The pretzels were completely separate from everything else and it was hard getting a bite of all the elements put together. That said, the flavors were good, though the strawberry part could've been a bit sweeter. The cupcakes were fine. I thought there was a smidge too much frosting on them for the size of the cakes but it wasn't egregious like it is at Bite Me Cupcakery at Bridge Street. The chocolate peanut butter cupcake didn't have much peanut butter flavor (only the bites with PB drizzle); personally, I was hoping for some peanut butter flavor in the cake itself. The cookies and cream was bland but not overly sweet, which was a plus. Overall, for my experience there, this place offered pretty but expensive desserts that satisfied if not necessarily blew my socks off. It might be a good spot for a quick sweet tooth fix if you're enjoying time at Stovehouse.

They are not sweet cheesecakes but also missing the classic tang of the cream cheese. It just didn't taste like anything. Overall the service was nice and the food was packaged so nicely but you can get better options with similar packaging at some other places without paying almost $10 a slice. Open only Wednesday - Saturday during the day, Christine serves up mostly baked goods. She does also offer some soups as well as wurst and currywurst! Be advised that you generally have to order ahead for any kind of bread or brotchen. We sampled pretty much everything she had to offer in the late afternoon. Plum, cherry, and blueberry coffee cake as well as bienenstich (beesting cake). My mother, who grew up in the German ward of St. Louis and is from a German family, was overjoyed, as she was taken right back to her childhood. Perfectly crumbly, buttery crumb cakes with fresh fruits -- they were all delicious, but the plum was the best. I had a slice of bienenstich, which is a cake filled with vanilla custard/cream and topped with caramelized almonds. The cream was so mild and airy and paired perfectly with the crunchy, sweet almond topping. The owner and baker -- who I can only presume is Christine -- was there and she spoke to us about her life in Germany and how she has been running her bakery here for 20 years (she started at around age 40, by the way!) She had a talent for being available when we needed her and hanging back when we wanted "us" time. She was a joy and we loved talking with her. I'll absolutely order some bread in the future and make the drive out. It'll be great to see Christine again! If you're looking for a road trip out of Huntsville -- this is one not to miss.

I'd give the orange roll a 3/5 and the sticky bun a 4/5, so overall closer to a 3.5. Worth a try if you're craving a treat; I'm glad my curiosity has been sated!
