I ended up at Sweet Cheeks on a last-minute whim. One day before I was to leave town on vacation, my waxing appointment at another salon that shall remain nameless was cancelled. They couldn't reschedule my appointment until the following week, which would obviously be too late. On my drive home from work, I passed by the shopping center where Sweet Cheeks is located. I'd seen the storefront before, but had never been there - and figured that on the off chance they MIGHT have an appointment available, it couldn't hurt to stop and ask, right? Fueled by ingrown hairs and my angry bank account, I am leaving an insightful and truthful review. I am giving them one star simply because the staff was pleasant and super nice... if only their wax job could compare! I met with Summer who was polite, friendly and made me feel really comfortable. The wax job was quite the opposite. She used very small passes and often passed over same areas repeatedly... ouch. I was swollen and tender and even took Motrin to help with swelling. This wasn't my first time at the waxing rodeo, and I expected pain. This was beyond pain, it was practically torture. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for something that should have taken 5. The icing on the cake was the fact that I had regrowth the next day! My hair was basically broken off instead of yanked out. Paying 80 bucks (including tip) was just completely insane for what I received. Too bad these nice ladies use cheap wax, or I would totally return to their lovely facility! This is not how Brazilians should feel! Back to LA I go for some nice and reasonably priced Pink Cheeks waxing! read more

I went to Sweet Cheeks with the intention of getting eyelash extensions and a brow shaping. They offer so many services, so it was hard to decide which I wanted to try first. When I walked in this chic, yet cozy studio, I was greeted by Summer. She was so nice and perky, and really made me feel welcome. She gave me some paperwork to fill out as she checked me in, just telling them about my skin type and such. When Cheryl came to get me for my brow shaping, she told me that after reviewing my info, she could not do my brows. She explained that because I used a topical retinoid, the wax would tear my skin. I was super bummed, but totally understood. I booked my appt online, so there was no way for me to know that before hand. Cheryl was pretty cool about it too, she didn't make me feel like a dummy for not knowing that already. Since I figured they had a gap in their schedule at this point, I asked if they had time for a Brazilian. Not realizing it is actually Summer that does the Brazilian's and Cheryl that does the brow shaping, I got lucky and was able to be squeezed in with Summer. Her high energy personality and quick hands made it as comfortable as one could imagine. No bumps or bruising the next day either, just smooth skin!! Next, her sister Brooke did my eyelash extensions. The paperwork I was given said this process could take 2-2.5 hrs, but Brooke got it done in about an hour. While there was aromatherapy and soft music, the process itself wasn't the most relaxing. But Brooke's amazing personality and knack for conversation made it fly by. I feel lucky to have found this family-owned studio so close to my home, and I will ONLY return to Sweet Cheeks in the future!! read more

WOW! Really I had a wedding on 11/11 to attend as a guest and I needed a bit just to fit into a dress that was a bit snuggish and MY GOODNESS, not only did I call 2days before the event but before they where opened, I left a v/m and received a call back almost immediately. After years of pondering the idea of permanent make-up I finally took the plunge and did it today at Sweet Cheeks Studio by Steve. First off I must say what a wonderful place this is! Super clean, Amazingly friendly staff and very comfortable atmosphere. A little nervous at 1st since I didn't know what to expect pain wise, my fears were quickly calmed into the 1st minute of the procedure. Steve used a topical numbing ointment and re-applied it frequently to keep me comfortable. I have to say it was very painless and I'm not dreading my touch up which is scheduled 4wks from now. I have a few days to heal but already SUPER thrilled with my results :) Also going to be going back very soon for spray tan and waxing. read more

I started seeing Summer in 2009 when I was 4 months pregnant with twins! Keep in mind pregnancy increases sensitivity during a Brazilian wax but it was still far better than previous women I had tried (and faster). I continue to see them to this day for maintenance. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful group of women God has blessed into my life. When I had surgery last year to remove a cancerous tumor in my knee Summer called me to check up on me and let me know they're praying for me which exceeds my expectations of any company. How many companies call you while you're recovering from surgery just to check on you? I couldn't walk for 4 months after surgery so just hearing their voices was a true delight! If you're interested in trying it I highly recommend Summer for the first few times. It's not weird it's a lot like going to the doctors and a nurse is with you. There are a couple "a-ha" moments but it's completely worth the 5-6 weeks of "freedom". Summer is also fantastic at eyebrows! I haven't tried her sister Brook for lashes yet but that's next on my list! read more

I never get my eyebrows waxed but I decided to treat myself before my wedding. My bridesmaid and mother wanted to have their brows done as well. I called because there were no appointments available within the same time frame and they were able to accommodate all three of us, much to my relief. I am so pleased with my results and would recommend Sweet Cheeks Studio to anyone and everyone. Steve is one of the few artists who use hair stroke technique when tattooing and because of this my eyebrows look very natural. I haven't gotten a single comment saying they don't look real! This place is not only CLEAN and decorated beautifully (what gal doesn't love leopard print carpeting?!), but most importantly it is run by beautiful people (both inside and out) who display great customer service. Nothing makes you want to revisit a business more than friendly staff who are knowledgable about what they are doing! I had never gotten a Brazilian wax before and Summer was so very sweet and made me feel extremely at ease. She explained to me what was going to happen during the appointment prior to my service and gave me great aftercare instructions. Her technique makes you feel less exposed and very comfortable (which is hard to do when you are completely bare from the waist down!) I have no complaints about my visits to Sweet Cheeks!
